Kagen Pushes to Stop Renard Island Construction

WASHINGTON D.C. (WTAQ) - Congressman Steve Kagen has introduced a bill to stop the construction of a causeway to Renard Island.
The project has been controversial because the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers chose a Milwaukee firm to build it, even though two local companies had lower bids.
The COE says it was a "Hub Zone Project," meaning it has to go to a business based in an economically-distressed community or minority-owned.
Kagen released the following statement in regards to the bill:
"Today, I filed legislation calling upon the Army Corps of Engineers to immediately stop spending taxpayer money on the Renard Island Causeway Project. Wisconsin taxpayers expect more for their money, and it is time Congress stops wasting our precious resources. We demand a complete and thorough review of all bids submitted prior to moving forward."
When did Steve Kagen ever care about Wisconsin's tax payers money in the past? He needed to get kicked out of office to have his first and only "Come To Jesus Moment" about the people of Wisconsin and the taxes we pay?
You know Kagen knew about this Renard Island project all along. It's in his district. If I'm wrong then can we say Steve Kagen knew nothing about any contacts at Marinette Marine. You Kagen voters were taken for a bunch of FOOLS!!!!!!!
What a phony or is he setting himself to run again in 2012?
For God's sake Steve,
STAY OUT OF POLITICS!
