What in The............

From Rush and WSJ

What in the H E L L are these republicans doing?

"Republican Energy Fumble
August 8, 2008; Page A13

Politics has its puzzling moments. John McCain and most of the GOP experienced one late last week. That was when five of their own set about dismantling the best issue Republicans have in the upcoming election.

It's taken time, but Sen. McCain and his party have finally found -- in energy -- an issue that's working for them. Riding voter discontent over high gas prices, the GOP has made antidrilling Democrats this summer's headlines." Potomac Watch - WSJ.com

The highlight is instead $84 billion in tax credits, subsidies and federal handouts for alternative fuels and renewables. The Gang of 10 intends to pay for all this in part by raising taxes on . . . oil companies! The Sierra Club couldn't have penned it better. And so the Republican Five has potentially given antidrilling Democrats the political cover they need to neutralize energy through November.

How much in campaign funding will the RNC get for CRAP like this from the average person out in the heartland? The Rockafeller Blue Bloods are driving a lot of people from the party. The RNC knows exactly how much I have donated this year, after this, it's still the same.

What is going on at the RNC, who is running the asylum?

What the H E _ _ is going on?

I'm mad as hell and will not take much more of this.

Question, what is the difference between democrats and republicans?

I'm going to bed, I have no clue.

Where is all this money going to come from? You the tax payer, wake up!

The following is a future article that may happen some day again. Again, it's a spoof but you know going through the Vietnam era and now Iraq, history can repeat it self. All names are fiction so please do not get bent out of shape with any parallels with today. If the liberals were so against the Vietnam war back in the sixties, why are they for the Hmong help today.

Follow the money, it's election time, and libs are looking to buy votes. And we the tax payers keep paying for everyone else but the taxpayers of Wisconsin.

Iraqi repatriation

“Twenty members of Congress, including Michconsin’s Mary Kagen 23 district (R-Cecil) niece of former (Wisconsin) 8th district congressman Steve Kagen and Laura Petri (D-Rose Lawn) cousin of former (Wisconsin) Tom Petri, sent a letter last week to Secretary of State Chelsea Clinton , urging her to do what she can to help stop the forced repatriation of Iraqi political refugees from Iraq back to the authoritarian regime in Iraq, where they face torture, persecution and imprisonment. . . .

These are people who helped us, people who obviously put themselves and their family in danger for our sake. Many of our Iraqi veterans owe the Iraqi people their very lives.

The U.S. government cannot allow the continued mistreatment of these political refugees."
Excerpted from an editorial published Wednesday in the Green Bay Post Crescent. Please send all comments to the GBPC, Crivits, Michconsin.

It has been over 14 years since the forced pull out of U S troops from former Iraq. President Barack Obama running for his fourth term in office wants congress to pay repatriations for the Iraqi people that were forced to seek shelter and safe keeping in the Untied States after al-Qaeda over ran the former country of Iraq two months after President Obama forced a U S troop pullout back in 2009.

As history shows, the flood of Iraqi refuges that entered the country stretched all forms of our socialist Republics in the United States. "It is time to change and make sure those who can pay will take care of the Iraqi citizens of this country.

The President and Republic Congressman are trying to get the last of oil stock holders to pay for the well being of Iraqi refuges who suffered after George Bush forced President Obama to pull all troops and aid to the former Iraq.

On a personnel note, my grandfather warned me of this back in 2007. He warned me that the election in 2008 was an important election after Barack Obama beat John McCain by a 95 to 5 % voter landslide. He told me that there were very few conservatives left in the country back then and my future would change after such a historic election.

The President wants to give money to the poor people from Iraq that through no fault of their own is now suffering. For a time they had their own country. Helped U S troops at the time of their last liberation, all was lost after al-Qaeda over ran and took over their country. It feels odd that we even bring up the former U S troops that fought and died for the Iraqi people. Veterans from that war are seldom talked about theses days. G B's war you know, that G B name was stricken from all history books back in 16.

I wished more people would of listened to the true conservative's back in the day. We don't have petroleum products anymore and we have two hours till lights out to shut down the windmills for the night. Grandma is baking saw grass bread. Grandpa was sure crazy in his day but when I look at what we will never have again, I know he was right after all.

Well it's 17:00 hours and all windmills and non essential lights out in 2 minutes. I feel sorry for our country. The liberals have the only lights at night in Obama D C. They sure got everything they wanted and then some.

Lights out.

P S, I still hold a picture of Renaldus Magnus under my pillow every night. We have our (GOD) can't mention HIM, with all we will never have again, we are still happy. Gram pa said some revolution would start again some day but today it's just a dream. As our third V P under Obama,Vice President Arnold Schwarzenegger (D) said , dreams can come true. Look at me.

Truman Speech 1945

"Truman Speech, August 9, 1945 (excerpt)
In a radio speech to the nation on August 9, 1945, President Truman called Hiroshima "a military base." It seems likely, considering his July 25 diary entry, that he was not aware that Hiroshima was a city. Otherwise, he was being untruthful about the nature of the target.

Truman delivered his speech from the White House at 10 P.M. Washington time on August 9, 1945. By this time, a second atomic bomb already had destroyed the city of Nagasaki. Because of the great length of the speech, most of which dealt with Germany, only the relevant paragraph is quoted here.

The world will note that the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, a military base. That was because we wished in this first attack to avoid, insofar as possible, the killing of civilians. But that attack is only a warning of things to come. If Japan does not surrender, bombs will have to be dropped on her war industries and, unfortunately, thousands of civilian lives will be lost. I urge Japanese civilians to leave industrial cities immediately, and save themselves from destruction.

The next break in the weather over Japan was due to appear just three days after the attack on Hiroshima, to be followed by at least five more days of prohibitive weather. The plutonium bomb, nicknamed "Fat Man," was rushed into readiness to take advantage of this window. No further orders were required for the attack. Truman's order of July 25th had authorized the dropping of additional bombs as soon as they were ready. At 3:47 a.m. on August 9, 1945, a B-29 named Bock's Car lifted off from Tinian and headed toward the primary target: Kokura Arsenal, a massive collection of war industries adjacent to the city of Kokura. U S House Update

Update on bringing the dems back to Washington for offshore drilling.

Throughout the week, Republican Members of Congress have come back from their districts across the country to address the issue of energy prices. Beginning last Friday and continuing throughout this week, Americans walking through the Capitol Complex have had the unique opportunity of coming to the Floor of the U.S. House of Representatives and hearing Republican Members talk directly to them about energy. While Republicans are doing their best to make their voices heard, there remains just one looming question: where is Speaker Pelosi?

The Speaker of the House has decided to continue her Five-Week Vacation and travel around the country promoting her new book. While she does, Republican Members are going to continue our attempt to have the Speaker Pelosi reconvene the House and have a real debate on energy solutions. Throughout next week, we’ll meet each day at 11:00 a.m. on the House Floor. Members wishing to speak should contact Neil Bradley in the Whip’s Office. Tour Groups are also strongly encouraged to join us on the House Floor.

Thank you and enjoy the weekend.

New ( Page), Old Tactics

From WBAY News
"Efforts Accelerate to Convince NewPage to Sell Kimberly Mill

Updated: Aug 8, 2008 06:44 PM " WBAY-TV Green Bay-Fox Cities-Northeast Wisconsin News: Efforts Accelerate to Convince NewPage to Sell Kimberly Mill
By Natalie Arnold

Even though NewPage Corporation keeps saying it will not sell the Kimberly mill once it shuts down by the middle of this month, union representatives and now Congressmen are continuing their fight to keep the plant running. That's because 475 employees are going to lose their jobs.

Union officials and federal lawmakers are trying to arrange a meeting with NewPage management face-to-face.

So the Union who only collects dues from it's members and gives Steve Kagen $10,000.00 plus for his campaign wants the mill to sell it to another company and the people who owns the plant says it will not sell because it would be competition. What could happen next?
In a message to Action 2 News Friday, NewPage said it would be happy to meet with everyone to explain its rationale -- that there is just too much coated paper on the market right now, so therefore it has no intention of selling the mill.

But the union thinks there's a chance to change minds, especially in person.

"You got to fight for what you do, especially when you do it well and you can keep doing it well," Nirschl said.

Holy cow, not Jimmy Hoffa style strong arm tactics, "union thinks there's a chance to change minds, especially in person." I thought those tactics went out years ago? That should of been phrased a little different.

Let's see. baseball bats, buckets, cement, did we miss anything?

"State Rep. Tom Nelson, D-Kaukauna, and state Sen. Robert Cowles, R-Green Bay, joined them at the meeting with union officials behind closed doors.

Nelson told the demonstrators earlier he would introduce a resolution to the legislature in Madison urging NewPage Corp. and its private equity parent, Cerberus Capital Management of New York, to allow the Kimberly plant to be bid on in the open market." Workers rally in mill's support | Postcrescent.com | Appleton Post-Crescent

So the union wants politicians to change laws to make a business sell it's property? Sounds like communism or socialism to me.

Take away what is someone else's to keep for their own. Kind of like UNION DUES or union dues paying $10,000 to a politicians campaign.

The politicians should talk to New Page but to have the union there after making a silly comment like that is over the top.

The employees of New Page deserve honest, good faith negotiating. We are talking about peoples lives here. Kagen, Petri and Nelson, should try to work things out but not take away someone's right of ownership. How about the employees buy the plant with the backing of UNION money? That would never happen. The employees could buy the company but would the union hand over cash?

Every time someone can't get their way, first thing that that say is we need to make a law.

Level heads need to come together.

Employees of New Page, do what you can but no matter what happens you need to plan your own life. Talk and promises are only heard around election time. Take care of yourselves and your family's first.

Aug. 5, 2008
By Howard Balzer
The Sports Xchange/CBSSports.com" Packers put Favre on non-football injury list - NFL - CBSSports.com Live Scores, Standings and Stats

Adding yet another bizarre layer to the saga that is Brett Favre, the Green Bay Packers reported to the league office Tuesday that Favre is not practicing because of a non-football injury. Non-football injuries are those that occur in activities not sanctioned by the team, including offseason workouts away from the team facility.

That status, as well as physically unable to perform, is typically for players who fail their training camp physical. Players in that category still count against the active roster, and can begin practicing at any time until roster cut-downs when teams must decide whether to keep the player on the roster or place them on reserve. On reserve, the player cannot begin practicing until after the sixth week of the season.

Ted and Mike are running scared right now.

Ted, you are no Ron Wolf.

Mike you are no Mike Holmgren!

I know Brett has a lot to do with this but I think I will now become a Viking fan! At least till Teddy and Mikey are gone.

I don't care, we only have to wait 30 years, sorry 19 more years till a next Green Bay Super Bowl victory. I'll be 70, hope I will still be alive.

That's 2027.

Vince and Ron only come along every 30 years.

Teddy and Mike dropped the ball.

It will be a long dry spell.

Yea, yea, it's only football but like blogging, talk radio , being conservative, I am still compassionate about my beliefs.

I don't feel like being a RINO like the rest of you intellectual you know better people.

This is like telling me I should vote for John Mc because I am a republican.

John Mc. (Teddy or Mikey) have to prove they believe in their convictions for me to jump on their band wagon.

As Jay Weber pointed out.

Do I want Rogers (Obama) for the sake of change or do I want a proven guy like Favre (McCain)

Between Obama, Mc Cain, Teddy or Mickey, I would still take Brett.

This is like saying Ronald Reagan is in the past and we don't need anyone that voted for Reagan. The republican party is not the party of Reagan anymore. You sure got that right.

When will real conservatives take back this country?

Good Luck Brett (Reagan) on your future team, I'm with you.

"Federal courts might try U.P. teen slayings
Detroit Free Press, 04-AUG-2008 (Gina Damron, John Wisely)
[Excerpt:] - IRON MOUNTAIN - A man accused of gunning down three teens last week on a river that divides Michigan and Wisconsin could face the death penalty if prosecutors in the two states turn his case over to federal officials. Michigan's Dickinson County Prosecutor Christopher Ninomiya told the Free Press on Sunday that he and his counterparts in Wisconsin may ask the U.S. Attorney's Office to take the case against Scott J. Johnson, 38, of Iron Mountain. If the case is handled federally, "the death penalty comes into play," Ninomiya said. Neither Michigan nor Wisconsin has a death penalty under state law, but because it was an interstate crime - Johnson is accused of killing one teen by firing from the Wisconsin side of the Menominee River into Michigan and two others on the Wisconsin side - a federal indictment could be warranted, Ninomiya said." Two Congressman, Two Views

"The result? A fragile order and barely controlled chaos.

During my discussions with Gen. Petraeus, I learned that, to secure the 2.5 million Iraqis living in Baghdad’s Sadr City, it was necessary to surround the area with a tall, concrete barrier, keeping the citizens in and violent extremists out." Kagen4Congress » Blog Archive » Iraq trip showed it’s time for troops to leave
It’s also time to move our brave soldiers away from Iraq. We should refocus our efforts on our real enemies — Osama bin Laden and his followers — and bring the rest of our soldiers, including those in our National Guard, home to the heroes’ welcome they’ve earned.

I heard it directly from our top military commander during my visit to Iraq: Our troops are stretched thin and can’t continue to tolerate the strain of an open-ended involvement in a never-ending religious civil war on the other side of the world.

Steve Kagen paints a bleak picture of Iraq and wants the troops out.

The following is from the Tension web site about the same trip to SADR CITY, Iraq,

Combat Camera: US Congressional Delegation Visits Sadr City " THE TENSION: Combat Camera: US Congressional Delegation Visits Sadr City
Since the weather did not cooperate, the congressmen were forced to take ground transportation to Joint Security Station Sadr City. This cut short their time, forcing them to take a driving tour of Sadr City by military convoy.
Sounds like the weather was the worst of the trip
The delegation was briefed by Task Force Gold Commander, Col. Jared Olsen, a native of Chicago.
“We gave them a good overview of the efforts that have been going on here for the past sixty days in an effort to achieving the effects of improving the quality of life for the citizens of Sadr City within OE (operating environment) Gold,” said Olsen.

A quote from Congressman Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.)
“We are the first CODEL (Congressional delegation) into Sadr City,” said Congressman Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.). “This is my fourth time trying to get in here. The fact that I can get in here without air cover is a real improvement.”

Fourth trip to Iraq, Thank you Congressman Lynch.
“I think there has been significant improvement in this Gold Sector. I noticed on the wall [separating this area of Sadr City from the rest of the city] there are still signs of heavy fighting and the general conditions in Sadr City are poor and that basic services are not widely available,” said Congressman Lynch. “However, I’ll say that these units that are coming in are making a dramatic improvement. And you can see that in the amount of traffic. A lot of the shop owners are moving back in. The security situation has improved greatly, at least this area where we have coalition forces.”
After the tour, the congressmen headed to JSS Sadr City for a quick lunch with the troops.
The security situation has improved greatly? Sounds pretty positive from a D- Mass. Congressman.
Congressman Inglis ate with and talked to Staff Sgt. Kevin Jones, a native of Anderson, S.C.
Wondering if Steve Kagen had lunch with any Wisconsin troops?

I just posted two different perspectives from two different congressman.

Two Democrats and two different views

If any troops from Wisconsin has any information on the Wisconsin Congressman in Iraq, let me know.

People of the 8th district, one Iraq trip right before the election. What will you see in his campaign ads? Will Steve be on top of a tank? Will he be carrying an AK 47? Make up your own mind.

It's time for someone new who will leave Iraq after we win and not because the liberal left anti war crowd want to cut and run.

Executives unsure what the future may hold for property after demolition" LdF tribe eyes demolition and re-development of Elgin property

A good read about some work Steve Kagen is doing for re-development property in Elgin.

A couple parts concerning Steve Kagen and the people of the 8th District of Wisconsin or the people of Illinois and Lac du Flambeau tribe.
Sale of the property
As reported in a previous article in The Lakeland Times by Richard Moore, tribal leaders have said they have no intention of selling tribal fee lands on the reservation, even those that may be mortgaged for cash flow.

However, they had also stated that a recent bill proposed by congressman Steve Kagen is more closely related to the former site of the Simpson Electric Company in Elgin, as well as other property.

And this,
The Kagen bill, which now sits in a long line of bills before the congressional committee of natural resources, would allow the sale of fee land to occur without the tribe having to gain approval from the secretary of the department of Interior.

High Gasoline prices, New Page Niagara and Kimberly lost jobs and high food prices,

I am just asking if the Steve Kagen bill is for the people of the 8th district of Wisconsin or for the people of Elgin Illinois?

Who is working for who? What does all this mean?

People of the 8th district, end our misery, it's time for someone new for 8th district congress.

Twisted Left Health Care News

From Jaxon, thank you, great read.

Sixty Per Cent of Physicians Surveyed Oppose Switching to a National Health Care Plan
Written by Cisco

Monday, 07 April 2008
"In the first physician survey that the lying doctors conducted in 2002, the results of which were published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, they asked physicians two questions: 1.) In principle, do you support or oppose governmental legislation to establish national health insurance? and 2.) Do you support or oppose a national health insurance plan where all health care is paid for by the federal government? (Note: The underlines under the words “paid for” are actually on the questionnaire and not added by me)

In the 2007 survey the first question was identical, but the second question was changed drastically to “Do you support achieving universal coverage through more incremental reform?” The survey questions are dramatically different, and yet Ackerman and Carroll want to compare their results. I can only surmise that the doctors were allowed a special dispensation by all of the scientists and the mathematicians of the world and were permitted to temporarily suspend the axioms of logic that we were all taught in elementary school, and that now the two of them can confidently compare apples and oranges and declare them to be identical." jaajoe.com - Sixty Per Cent of Physicians Surveyed Oppose Switching to a National Health Care Plan

And Steve Kagen say's, "Let me be perfectly clear: We do not need socialized medicine – period."
Can we believe him or is that just a lie to get re elected? Which of our elected officials can we believe anymore? Part of the blame is at the feet of the MSM for not telling the whole story, just the parts that fit their agenda. The next is to get conservative people elected to office.

The Journey Begins.

Calculate How Long it Takes to Start Saving From a More Fuel-Efficient Vehicle

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — June 30, 2008 — Should you dump the SUV for a gas-sipper? That's the question everyone is asking these days.

Edmunds.com, the premier online resource for automotive information, helps consumers answer that question with today's release of its Gas-Guzzler Trade-In Calculator. The tool helps consumers determine the pay-back period and fuel savings associated with trading-in a fuel-thirsty vehicle for a more fuel-efficient one.

"Car buyers think they can save money by dumping their gas-guzzler and purchasing a gas-sipper," said Philip Reed, Senior Consumer Advice Editor for Edmunds.com. Barack, What Will We Lose

From Breitbart . com
"
Obama turns 47, but aides lose present" Obama turns 47, but aides lose present

Aug 4 12:28 PM US/Eastern
Barack Obama's aides are often praised for their seamless political operation, but have stumbled into a major gaffe, after losing their present for the White House hopeful's 47th birthday on Monday.

Obama was celebrating his birthday by unveiling a new energy plan in Michigan, and holding a fundraising event in Boston.

But his communications director Robert Gibbs said plans by his campaign team to mark the boss's special day in style had gone awry.

"We got him a present that he really needs. And one of our guys was bringing it back and left it in the trunk of the cab last night," Gibbs told MSNBC.

If Barack and his aids get in office next year , what will we lose?

Second Amendment, they will tell you you don't need guns anyway.

Cheep gasoline, will go to $5.99 gal., you don't need to drive anyway.

Tax Cuts, look all that can happen. From the Heritage Foundation

Tax rates will rise substantially in each tax bracket, some by 450 basis points;

Low-income taxpayers will see the 10-percent tax bracket disappear, and they will have to pay taxes at the 15-percent rate;

Married taxpayers will see the marriage penalty return;

Taxpayers with children will lose 50 percent of their child tax credits;

Taxes on dividends will increase beginning on January 1, 2009;

Taxes on capital gains will increase, also beginning on January 1, 2009; and

Federal death taxes will come back to life in 2011, after fading down to nothing in 2010." Make the Bush Tax Cuts Permanent

Free speech, fairness doctrine will return.

If they can lose a birthday present , the sky is the limit!

I know the list is longer then Santa's Christmas list but feel free to add to the list.

Good Read

"In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth and populated the Earth with Broccoli, Cauliflower and Spinach, green and yellow and red Vegetables of all kinds, so Man and Woman would live Long and Healthy Lives.

Then using God’s great gifts, Satan created Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream and Krispy Kreme Donuts. And Satan said, “You want chocolate with that?” And Man said, “Yes!” and Woman said, “and as long as you’re at it, add some sprinkles.” And they gained 10 pounds. And Satan smiled.

And God created the healthful Yogurt that Woman might keep the Figure that Man found so fair.

And Satan brought forth white flour from the wheat, and sugar from the cane and combined them. And Woman went from size 6 to size 14.

So God said, “Try my fresh green salad.”

And Satan presented Thousand-Island Dressing, buttery croutons and garlic toast on the side. And Man and Woman unfastened their belts following the repast.

God then said, “I have sent you heart healthy vegetables, and olive oil in which to cook them.”

And Satan brought forth deep fried fish and chicken-fried steak so big it needed its own platter. And Man gained more weight and his cholesterol went through the roof.

So God then created a light, fluffy white cake, named it “Angel Food Cake,” and said, “It is good.”

Satan then created chocolate cake and named it “Devil’s Food.”

God then brought forth running shoes so that His children might lose those extra pounds.

And Satan gave cable TV with a remote control so Man would not have to toil changing the channels. And Man and Woman laughed and cried before the flickering blue light and gained pounds.

Then God brought forth the Potato, naturally low in fat and brimming with nutrition.

And Satan peeled off the healthy skin and sliced the starchy center into chips and deep-fried them. And Man gained pounds.

God then gave lean beef so that Man might consume fewer calories and still satisfy his appetite.

And Satan created McDonald’s and its 99-cent Double Cheeseburger. Then said, “You want fries with that?” And Man replied, “Yes! And super size them!” And Satan said, “It is good.”

And Man went into Cardiac Arrest.

God sighed and created Quadruple Bypass Surgery.

Then Satan created HMOs.

We ask that Speaker Pelosi reconvene the House of Representatives in order to vote on the American Energy Act, a comprehensive piece of legislation that seeks to reduce America’s dependence on foreign oil. Joke for the Day

Thanks Mike for the E Mail.
By the way I was born in 57, before my time.

It's the summer of 1957 and Harold goes to
pick up his date, Peggy Sue.

Harold's a pretty hip guy with his own car and a duck
tail hairdo. When he goes to the front door, Peggy
Sue's mother answers and invites him in. 'Peggy
Sue's not ready yet, so why don't you have a
seat?' she says.

That's cool. Peggy Sue's mother asks Harold what
they're planning to do.

Harold replies politely that they will probably just go to the malt
shop or to a drive in movie.

Peggy Sue's mother responds, 'Why don't you
kids go out and screw? I hear all the kids are doing
it.'

Naturally this comes as quite a surprise to Harold and he says
'Wha...aaat?'

'Yeah,' says Peggy Sue's mother, 'We know
Peggy Sue really likes to screw; why, she'd screw all
night if we let her!'

Harold's eyes l ight up and he smiles from ear to ear.. Immediately,
he has revised the plans for the evening.

A few minutes later, Peggy Sue comes downstairs in her little poodle
skirt with Her saddle shoes, and announces that she's ready to go.

Almost breathless with anticipation, Harold escorts his
date out the front door while Mom is saying, 'Have a
good Evening kids,' with a small wink for Harold.

About 20 minutes later, a thoroughly disheveled Peggy Sue rushes back

into the house, slams the door behind her and screams at her mother:
"It's The Twist, Mother! The Twist! It's
called The Twist!' .

Facts about Poison Ivy

Just a reminder, STAY AWAY FROM THE IVY!

Have it everywhere but to spots, thank God.

"Facts about Poison Ivy
How do you get poison ivy?

From touching it, or touching something that has touched it, like your clothes or your dog. You normally get it from touching the leaves, but yanking the vine out by the roots - even in winter - will give you a wicked rash." Poison Ivy FAQ

Using a weedeater to remove poison ivy will result in spraying your legs with poison ivy. If you are bare-legged and get scratches while splattered with sap from poison ivy, you may be headed to the emergency room.

Really,is this how I got it? Dam weed whacker.

What can you do once the itching starts?

For a serious case you MUST SEE A DOCTOR. For less serious cases check with your local drugstore or see the list below for remedies.

Local drugstore didn't help. Sure glad I got that Prednisone, You be surprized what you can get done with that stuff
Here are a list of popular home remedies:

* Take a shower in the hottest water you can stand, for as long as you can stand - this should ease the itch for 8 hours.
* Jewelweed is widely thought to help the rash. Mash the weed and apply to the rash.
* Spray with a deodorant containing aluminum, which most do.

I wish Ivy on no one.

Kagen Debate, Glass House

"Gard challenges Kagen to town hall meetings
Debates for 8th Congressional District would focus on energy
By DIANA MARRERO
dmarrero@journalsentinel.com
Posted: Aug. 2, 2008

Washington - Taking a page from John McCain's campaign playbook, Republican John Gard is challenging his Democratic opponent to a series of town hall meetings. " JS Online: Gard challenges Kagen to town hall meetings

Like Barack Obama, Steve Kagen won’t agree to his challenger’s request without some caveats.
Just like a child (Kagen) in a sand box. "I'm not going to play with him till he gives me his shovel and pale, mommy, mommy, tell him to give it to me!".

In response, Kagen’s campaign manager Casey Frary said the lawmaker would be happy to hold a town hall meeting with Gard. But, Frary said, that’s only after Gard returns the campaign contributions he has received from the oil and gas industry.

You have got to feel sorry for the Kagen staff, Poor Casey Frary has to come out with a lame excuse for not having a debate. Steve Kagen is afraid to have debates because he is not ready for this election!

If John Gard should give back money, how about Steve Kagen doing the same?

Link to Steve Kagen 2008 Top Contributors

Maybe Steve should give back some of the following money from his campaign. Why is he taking a lot of hard working people's money for his campaign?

Kagen, Badge of Courage

Just like the lion in the Wizzard of Oz, Steve Kagen is looking for the badge of courage. From the August 2nd, JS Online.
"Kagen back from Iraq: Just back from a congressional trip to Iraq, Israel and Europe, Appleton Democrat Steve Kagen reported last week that his military flight out of Baghdad had to take evasive action after the crew detected a possible missile attack. Two other lawmakers were on the plane. " JS Online: Ron Kind introduces tax relief bill for disaster victims

The article from DIANA MARRERO dmarrero@journalsentinel.com and I quote " Appleton Democrat Steve Kagen reported last week that his military flight out of Baghdad had to take evasive action after the crew detected a possible missile attack. " He reported? How many more people does he have to tell? What medal is looking to get. Who is he trying to impress?

Here is the official account from Col. M.J. Jadick of Air Force Public Affairs:

"The missile warning and countermeasures system on a C-130 carrying Congressmen Steven Kagen (D-Wis.), Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.) and Bob Inglis (R-S.C.) activated as their aircraft departed Sather Air Base in Baghdad, Iraq, on July 28. Although the crew saw no evidence of a missile, they chose to maneuver the aircraft and dispense flares as a precaution. All theater air crews are trained to react to surface-to-air fires. Although surface-to-air fires are extremely dangerous, established tactics minimize the threat to flying operations. The aircraft was not damaged and the crew and passengers continued safely to their destination."

Sounds like everything was under control. No big deal to all our troops.I did a Google search on the two other congressman Steve Kagen went to Iraq with, Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.) and Bob Inglis (R-S.C.) and could not find any other comments on on the possible missile attack.

Obviously DIANA MARRERO from J S Online will hear this several more times between now and the election. How many times will Steve Kagen bring this story up to his constituents of the 8th district, to his donors and to anyone that will give him a "that's terrible, weren't you scared" comment? If or when Steve Kagen and John Gard have a debate, I know it will come up again.

The men and Women of the armed forces go through this several times a day in Iraq. This is no big deal to other congressional visits to Iraq or Afghanistan. Why the over kill?

If someone else would tell this same story Steve Kagen could say "no big deal, our troops have it a lot worse!" But no, he has to tell everyone of his possible heroic day. Can you picture him on the plane that day. I wonder if he grabbed a rifle and said "lets kick some butt" like when he was at the White House a year and a half ago.

The Wizzard from Oz has no badge of courage for our 8th district Congressman. Steve Kagen cannot play the sympathy card with the voters. That's all this is!

People of the 8th district, you see again how much our congressman will do anything for a vote.

Steve Kagen had his chance and let us down.

It's time for someone new.
