Local Update, Hostage Situation, Marinette High School

Marinette Police Chief Jeff Skorik has just said that five hostages have been released and there are no injuries reported. 18 hostages and one female teacher are still in the classroom. 7:57 p.m.

Marinette Police Chief Jeff Skorik has reported that it is a male student from Marinette High School who is holding a teacher and 23 students hostage in a classroom at the schools since late this afternoon. Negotiators have been talking with the teacher. They reported earlier no shots had been fired. 7:39 p.m.

Law enforcement has updated parents of students who are unaccounted for this evening that no shots have been fired at Marinette High School, where an armed person is holding approximately 23 students and a teacher hostage in a classroom. More details will be announced as the EagleHerald covers the breaking story. 7:16 P.M.

MARINETTE - Authorities say an armed 10th grade student is holding classmates hostage at Marinette High School. Emergency Management officials responded to the scene at 3:15 p.m. Monday. Police won't say much other than it's an ongoing situation. Parents looking for kids should go to the lower jury assembly room at the courthouse. 5:47 P.M.
