Iron Country snowmobile trails set to open Dec. 13
Although the snowmobile season officially opens on December 1, snowmobilers will not be able to legally ride the trails in Iron County until Dec. 13, conditions permitting.


The Iron County Recreation Council recently set Dec. 13 as the trail opener because of landowner closures through Dec. 12, and trails not yet freezing, according to Hurley Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jessica Bolich.


Snowmobilers, however, may travel designated routes in Hurley from lodging facilities to businesses or to access the snowmobile trail in Ironwood, Bolich said.
