What Does Revenue Mean??????

From the Milwaukee Journal.

Editorial: Warning: Tussles ahead
New or expanded programs mean the need for new revenue.
If the Legislature balks at Doyle's ideas, it should offer its own.
From the Journal Sentinel
Posted: Feb. 15, 2007
Gov. Jim Doyle's latest two-year budget proposal is ambitious
and mostly practical.
The ambition can be seen in his efforts to provide access to
health insurance to 98% of Wisconsinites, to expand the state's
Medicaid program, to ban smoking statewide and in his focus on
the roads and infrastructure vital to the state's economic growth.
The practicality comes in the acknowledgment that new or expanded
programs require new or added revenues.

Can they just be honest and say TAX increase.
All hail King Jim I

I don't think she's dishonest ,I hope not, but if she

A Great Speech- Freedom

On the weekend where congress will vote to support or not
support our troops, I ask you people that are against the war
on terrorism to listen or read (your choice)
to the speech by Ronald Regan.

40th Anniversary of D-Day (Pointe du Hoc)
Remarks at the U.S. Ranger Monument Pointe du Hoc,

France June 6, 1984

One phrase you have to fully understand . It meant so much
63 years ago. It is what we stand for today . Freedom, freedom
men and women die for , so we can have the freedom we have.

Forty summers have passed since the battle that you fought here.
You were young the day you took these cliffs; some of you were
hardly more than boys, with the deepest joys of life before you.
Yet, you risked everything here. Why? Why did you do it?
What impelled you to put aside the instinct for self-preservation
and risk your lives to take these cliffs? What inspired all the men
of the armies that met here? We look at you, and somehow we
know the answer. It was faith and belief; it was loyalty and love.

We are here for freedom and we should never forget what it takes

Antarctic temperatures disagree with climate model predictions
COLUMBUS , Ohio – A new report on climate over the world's
southernmost continent shows that temperatures during the late
20th century did not climb as had been predicted by many global
climate models.

This comes soon after the latest report by the Intergovernmental
Panel on Climate Change that strongly supports the conclusion that
the Earth's climate as a whole is warming, largely due to human activity.

It also follows a similar finding from last summer by the same
research group that showed no increase in precipitation over
Antarctica in the last 50 years. Most models predict that both
precipitation and temperature will increase over Antarctica
with a warming of the planet.

What did it say "no increase"

Diamond Jim Score Card

Thanks to Charlie Sykes for keeping score.

With his proposed gas tax, Governor Doyle
has crossed the $1 billion mark in new taxes.
Cigarette taxes

Hospital Taxes

Gas taxes

Rental car taxes

Sales taxes

Property taxes

License fees

Not bad for a guy who campaigned on a "no-tax" theme.

And now taxes for land purchases.
Just keeps adding up!

Here's Another One

Is any one listening? How deep will we have to dig in our
pockets to pay for this?

Doyle seeks land funds
Proposed increase in state program would
cost $1.6 billion in next 10 years

Gov. Jim Doyle's proposal to provide more funding for a state
land purchase program will heap an estimated $1.6 billion in
new costs on taxpayers in the next 10 years of the initiative.

The spending represents a dramatic increase in the size of
a popular program that has helped protect more than
477,000 acres.

"new costs to taxpayers"- What does this mean?

Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Your taxes will go up even more!

Hold On To Your Wallets

Doyle seeks tax, fee boosts
He wants to spend more on health care, transportation

By STEVEN WALTERS, STACY FORSTER and PATRICK MARLEYswalters@journalsentinel.com
Posted: Feb. 13, 2007

Madison - Gov. Jim Doyle on Tuesday traded targeted
tax increases - on smokers, hospitals and oil companies -
for more health care and stable funding for the state's
transportation system.

"targeted tax increases"- What does that mean to the average
people of Berry Lake?
It means since we have lake frontage we will see more of a
tax increase compared to others in Oconto County!

"on smokers, hospitals and oil companies"- what does that
mean to the people on Berry Lake?
It means if you don't smoke( I quit on Jan 1st), you don't ever
go to the hospital, you don't drive to work , you don't ride a pontoon
boat in summer, you don't cut lawn or God forbid you don't go to
church on Sunday , you won't get taxed!

Handing the Legislature his two-year budget, the governor
also called for a $20 increase in the annual car registration fee.
The 36% boost would bring it from $55 to $75.
In his re-election campaign last year, he said he supported
an increase of about $10.

36% increase - that means that $6.99 can of coffee will now
cost over $10.00 , That $2 30 gal of Gasoline will now cost
over $ 3.00 a gal, that a $20,000 new vehicle will now cost
over $27,000.00 .Yes your $20,000 collage fee's for your
child just went over $27,000.

Nawwwwwwwwww- 36 % isn't that much!

$20 increase - what does that mean ?
Well this summer we and our neighbors will spend
over $ 600.00 on registration of our vehicles. Oh I forgot,
we and the neighbors have 3 trucks , it will be more
than $600.00 !

Oh I guess the $10 he said before being elected was

a) a lie,

b) Wis is more in debt than we knew last fall, wait
we were told the budget was balanced!

c) you people are sleeping , wake up .

d) you are assuming room temperature and do not know you
passed away!

I always hated those multiple choice questions in school!

Aides said the budget makes good on a campaign promise to
not raise general sales or income taxes.

Oh boy that should make you feel good , all other taxes are
going up (did you catch that) except
GENERAL SALES or INCOME TAXES.
But you know all other taxes will go up !
Do you also understand most state fee's will go up also!
A FEE IS ALSO A TAX TO YOU LIBERALS AND
CANDY's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW,

Where do you people think this extra, (he uses the word)
"REVENUES" come from.

For those of us on BERRY LAKE - REVENUES means
Taxes out of our pocket!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I had enough.

You can go to MJS online for the rest of it .

It's 3:50 a m and I going back to bed!

How Can this Be ?

Right On, Down Under

This sure makes a lot of sense , Received this from E mail ,
Thanks Mike and Larry. After I read this I wish
I lived in Australia.

Excerpts from an on going debate in Australia ..
This is true and can be checked at
http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/australia.asp
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on
Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted
radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.
A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty
to Australia and her Queen at a special meeting with Prime
Minister John Howard, he and his Ministers made it clear that
extremists would face a crackdown. Treasurer Peter Costello,
seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics
could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that
Australia was a secular state, and its laws were made by parliament.
"If those are not your values, if you want a country which has
Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you",
he said on National Television.

"I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two
laws governing people in Australia : one the Australian law and
another Islamic law that is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary
law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and
have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it,
perhaps, then, that's a better option", Costello said.

Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave,
he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move
to the other country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told
reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should
"clear off. Basically people who don't want to be Australians, and
who don't want, to live by Australian values and understand them,
well then, they can basically clear off", he said.

Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday
by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques.
Quote: "IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT.
Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether
we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist
attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the
majority of Australians."

"However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the
'politically correct' crowd began complaining about the possibility
that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration,
nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by
coming to Australia ." "However, there are a few things that those
who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born
here, need to understand." "This idea of Australia being a multi-cultural
community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national
identity. And as Australians, we have our own culture, our own society,
our own language and our own lifestyle."
"This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles,
trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought
freedom"

"We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese,
Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to
become part of our society .. Learn the language!"
"Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing,
political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian
principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is
certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God
offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as
your new home, because God is part of our culture."
"We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is
that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with
us."
"If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like "A Fair Go",
then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet.
We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we
really don't care how you did things where you came from. By all means,
keep your culture, but do not force it on others.
"This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we
will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done
complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our
Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take
advantage of one other great Australian freedom,
'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'."
"If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come
here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted."
Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, American citizens will
find the backbone to start speaking and voicing the same truths !
Please SEND THIS TO EVERYBODY YOU KNOW!

It would be nice if others stood up for there country.

State's median income drops
Decline is third-largest in nation; significance
of figures debated

Feeling pinched financially?

If you live in Wisconsin, you're not alone, because median
household income in the state declined by $2,226, to $45,956
in 2004-'05, according to U.S. Census Bureau data released
Tuesday.
The stunning drop meant that Wisconsin scored the third-largest
decline, behind Virginia and Kansas.

Hey Libs, why is this happening?

Doyle wants tax on oil companies
They'd be pressed to absorb cost
By PATRICK MARLEYpmarley@journalsentinel.com
Posted: Feb. 12, 2007
Madison - Gov. Jim Doyle will unveil a tax on oil companies
on Tuesday but will bar the firms from passing it on to consumers.

The tax would mark the first cash infusion into the state's
transportation account since an annual automatic increase
in the gas tax ended in April.
But some question whether the state can legally prevent
companies from passing taxes on to consumers.

Where are you Candy's! Do you really think you won't get
charged for the tax Doyle wants to tax the oil company's?
Are you really that stupid ? Oh I forgot Doyle could raise
gasoline taxes in 09 and you would still blame Bush!

I will feel a lot better when Gov. Lawton is sworn in!!!!!!!!
I say that will be with in two years!

Nawwwwwwwwwwwww

This can't be true!
From Charlie Sykes and the azcentral.com

You mean teenagers could really lose hours or jobs
if the min wage goes up? What about the people that are
raising their family's on only the minimum?

Say it ain't so !

Where are our liberal buddies on this?
And why is the article not headlined-
"New wage boost puts squeeze on families across Arizona,
Employers are cutting back hours , laying off family wage earners".
So for teenagers it's O K. Those evil employers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New wage boost puts squeeze on teenage
workers across Arizona, Employers are cutting
back hours, laying off young staffers

Oh, for the days when Arizona's high school students could roll
pizza dough, sweep up sticky floors in theaters or scoop ice cream
without worrying about ballot initiatives affecting their earning
power. That's certainly not the case under the state's new
minimum-wage law that went into effect last month.

Take away jobs and money from kids , you cruel @#$%^&*'s.

Not that important but it does bring back memories.

Back on March 24,1986 I took a beautiful young lady
out for dinner, to the Fox and Hounds.

I remember as I took her hand, bent to one knee and
asked her to marry me, and to my surprise
she said YES !!!!!!!!!!!

What a day that was.

Just a side note , we still laugh today when we talk about
that eventful night , a group of Japanese customers were
having dinner that same night across the aisle. We couldn't
understand what they were saying but I guess love in any
language still means the same thing.

A special thanks to that young lady for putting up with
a guy like me for all these years.

Love you dear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
