Holperin Trying To Save His Behind
Seems Jim Holperin and four other comrades held a meeting in Antigo.
WJFW Newswatch 12: Print Story:
"Local Democratic Leaders Hold Budget Forum
Submitted: 04/29/2011
Antigo - Democratic Senator Jim Holperin led the meeting but was joined by Senator Bob Jauch.
Three state Democratic representatives also appeared: Janet Bewley, Penny Bernard Schaber, and Louis Molepske Jr.
It was an open forum for people around Northern Wisconsin to voice their opinion about the proposed budget. Veteran Affairs. Recycling programs. Education. Road maintenance. These are a just of the topics discussed at Friday night's open session.
The five Democratic leaders held the open session for three hours."
First, did Holperin and his group ever hold meetings the last two years when Doyle was gov.?
Second, did he ever let his constituents know there was going to be a meeting? Not that I know of.
I think it's time for Mr. Holperin to take a well deserved vacation. July 12th is the day we send Jim Holperin home!

Ribble Moving Left, Shocked!!!!!!!
I am SHOCKED, SHOCKED that Reid Ribble would go along wirh Obama on ending oil subsidies.
A few weeks ago, Republican Rep. Reid Ribble caused barely a ripple when he suggested that Congress should consider ending federal tax breaks for the highly profitable oil and gas industry.
Barely a ripple, I must of missed this. Seems John Boehner is on board with him too!
But House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, sent shock waves through the Republican establishment when he likewise suggested on ABC News that oil and gas subsidies should be on the table in the budget debate as the federal government is buckling under the weight of nearly $15 trillion in debt and a projected $1.6 trillion deficit for the current fiscal year.
Here's Ribbles buddy agreeing with him and Boehner.
Taking advantage of an apparent crack in the GOP armor on the revenue side of the budget-balancing equation, President Barack Obama this week highlighted Boehner's remarks in a letter Tuesday calling for an immediate repeal of an estimated $4 billion in tax breaks for oil and gas companies.
"I was heartened that Speaker Boehner yesterday expressed openness to eliminating these tax subsidies for the oil and gas industry," Obama said in his letter to House and Senate leaders. "Our political system has for too long avoided and ignored this important step, and I hope we can come together in a bipartisan manner to get it done."
So Ribble wants to end subsidies and what does Ron Johnson want to do?
U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson says one way the U.S. can attack oil prices is by drilling more in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico.
At least some logic from Mr Johnson.
For all that voted for Ribble, you can't be surprised, can you. I wonder what really happened at this past years Super Bowl party at the White House. Reid must of gotten his marching orders from POTUS.
I could guess the conversation. It probably went something like this.
"Reid, I like you, This summer you need to start coming around to my side. There will be plenty of invites for you if you do."
That sounds about right. Ribble moving left.

Strapped School Boards Hire Lobbyist
Are School boards insane, I thought they have no money?
School districts may hire lobbyist - The Northwoods River News - Rhinelander, Wisconsin:

SDR board votes in favor of proposal
By Kyle Rogers
River News Reporter
The debate over the 2011-13 state budget has begun at the committee level, and will continue over the next few months eventually in the state Assembly and Senate. As part of that debate, lobbyists will be working to influence lawmakers on budget issues on behalf of various groups.
The Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB) represents the interests of school districts across the state, but a group comprised of school districts in Oneida and Vilas counties, including the School District of Rhinelander, is also considering hiring a lobbyist to represent it during the next few months as the state budget is discussed and approved. The budget is set to take effect July 1 if both the Assembly and Senate approve it by then."

Several Wisconsin TEA Party Leaders Support BUY-cott
Racine, WI – Union organizers in Wisconsin have tried to harm Wisconsin business through their
boycott and harassment tactics—but their antics have had the opposite effect. Citizens fed up with the intimidation and threatening behavior are standing up to support a state-wide BUY-COTT of Wisconsin business—EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.
The latest union-driven protest of placing damaging, crude, anti-Walker stickers on grocery
products this weekend will be met by the CITIZENS BUY-COTT of Wisconsin business! We will
dedicate our support to BUY-COTT every product, store, business owner who is subject to these
underhanded, and unethical attempts to harm them. From here on out, We the People pledge to
support OUR Wisconsin business with our efforts.
We encourage all citizens to patronize businesses targeted by union boycotts and intimidation—
or on lists passed around for that purpose. We encourage all citizens to target their purchase of products to businesses targeted by union boycotts and intimidation. We encourage all citizens to report any examples of threats, intimidation, harassment and boycotting they know of to us—and we will make sure to BUY-COTT those same businesses.
Governor Walker said, loudly and proudly, WISCONSIN IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS. We aim to
make sure that happens! As unions continue with their attempts to divide, TEA parties across the
state are united in supporting ALL WISCONSIN BUSINESSES!

Wisconsin Buycott Now On FaceBook
Remember this from JSOnline?
The Wisconsin Grocers Association has alerted members to an anti-Walker product sticker campaign planned for May 1.
Opponents of Gov. Scott Walker for months have been boycotting companies linked to donations to Walker's campaign. Now there is a national effort under way to go into stores and place stickers on products.
Among products targeted for stickers are Johnsonville brats, AngelSoft toilet paper, Sargento cheese and Coors beer.
The WGA has produced a sign that stores can post alerting people that placing stickers on products in stores is illegal.
Time to dig in and buy products the unions want us not to buy.

Green Bay, 10 Housing Fraud Charges Filed

Housing fraud charges filed in Brown County:

Reporter: Robert Hornacek
GREEN BAY - Housing assistance is designed to help people who can't afford to pay their rent. But according to a series of criminal complaints filed this week in Brown County court, some people are trying to take advantage of the system, in essence stealing from tax payers.
'Housing fraud is a crime committed against the community because of the impact of it,' said Dave Swanson, a retired Green Bay police officer who is now a private investigator working on housing fraud. He says the majority of people receiving housing assistance are following the rules. But he says some people aren't.
This week, the Brown County District Attorney's Office filed charges against 10 people accusing them of theft and false representation."
Nothing here, move along.

So the big babies are now going to deface retail products!
So on May 1st (Communist work day) the thugs are going to pull these kind of tactics.
Tea Party people. We need to stop at a local grocery store on May 1st and check to see if this happens. If you see union goon doing this, you do have choices.
1) Call a store employee and take picture of the goon.
2) Call the police and make a citizen arrest.
3 Right in front of the thug, buy the product!

Shawano Wis Boondoggle On LED Street Lights
Dad 29 passed this to me about LED street lights in Wauwatosa. Seems the people of Shawano got snookered from their city administrator. Either he doesn't know what he is talking about or he is hiding information from the residents of Shawano. I will highlight in red what the people of Wauwatosa know that Shawano has no clue of. Previous story here
Darker Tosa streets save money, but generate complaints - WauwatosaNow:
"Wauwatosa's experiment in turning on streetlights in some neighborhoods for fewer hours has generated complaints from 82 residents in the last eight months, but the money-saving maneuver is deemed necessary - at least in some form - to keep the city within budget.
A discussion of the controversial measure resulted in no action from the Traffic and Safety Committee on Tuesday, but options for moving forward were floated. The issue likely will be back before the panel in two weeks.
The city could expand the program to more neighborhoods, and it could turn the lights on 15 minutes after sunset and 15 minutes before sunrise, rather than a full half hour. The financial savings would be less, but increasing the number of areas participating could balance that out, city staff members said.
Installing LED lights could reduce energy consumption by 30 to 60 percent, but there is a significant upfront charge for retrofitting equipment - payback would take more than 50 years to realize, Porter said."
Fifty years to realize savings? Let's see, that would be 2061. Sorry I don't think I will be around if we get Obama care.
Shawano has a boondoggle on it's hands. The Shawano Administrator must be a democrat.
People of Shawano, bend over and pay.
I was questioning myself if I should use the word "boondoggle? Here's the definition from Dictionary.com. I think it fits!
boon·dog·gle
[boon-dog-uhl, -daw-guhl]
noun, verb, -gled, -gling.
–noun
1.
a product of simple manual skill, as a plaited leather cord for the neck or a knife sheath, made typically by a camper or a scout.
2.
work of little or no value done merely to keep or look busy.
3.
a project funded by the federal government out of political favoritism that is of no real value to the community or the nation.

Seems Jim Doyle Missing From Article
From the Appleton Post Crescent.
APPLETON — Police say an Appleton man punched a woman in an attempt to rob her just five months after he was released from prison on two robbery counts.
If you read the article, it seems this suspect was released when Jim Doyle was gov? I seem to remember Diamond Jim released a bunch of inmates early to tell us it would save the state money. They do say he was "released on extended supervision in August."
Here's another story from January 2010.
Should we thank Jim Doyle. No I think we can blame the FLEEBAGERS who went to Illinois for letting Doyle do it.
Hey Holperin and Hansen, you voted for this, didn't you?

Strong Support For Kloppenburg At Recount
From the Stevens Point Journal.
Early reports from Portage County Recount for State Supreme Court race.
Representatives for both Prosser and Kloppenburg hung out around Conference Room 1 in the Courthouse Annex, where the recount is taking place. At least six people registered under Prosser’s name on the sign-in sheet at the entrance, with only two showing up from the Kloppenburg camp.
What happen here? Two people for Kloppenburg and six for Prosser. I thought Portage County was a dem stronghold with Lassa? Where are all the radicals from UWSP?
And the State of Wisconsin will spend up to a million bucks on this recount?

Shawano, New Lights Might, Could Save Money
From the Shawano Leader
Street lamp switch is on in city
By Lee Pulaski
lpulaski@shawanoleader.com
Work crews with the city of Shawano started the arduous process this week of installing 595 LED lights on street lamps, which will cover more than two-thirds of the community’s lights.
Shawano received a grant for $159,500 to install the lights. To get the grant, the city had to put up $173,750 as a matching contribution.
There are 880 street lamps within the city, but the mass replacement of most of the old high-pressure sodium vapor lights will produce many benefits, according to City Administrator Jim Stadler. Besides the potential energy savings that could cut down on city costs, the LED lights will also cover a focused area that should avoid infringing on residents’ property while keeping the streets lit.
Can someone explain what "potential energy savings" means? Will it or will the new lights not save the city money? In the same sentence, "could cut down on city costs", so Jim's not sure? Why did the city spend $173,750 if he's not sure if it will save money?
When will the people of Shawano wake up. Seems they might want to replace their city administrator.
Side note, did the author have to change their real name to a pen name. Didn't want to give their real name? I mean really, Lee Pulaski? Are they related to General Pulaski? Pulaski is about twenty miles from Shawano and it just seems kind of strange Lee 's last name is Pulaski. What I tell my children, "I used to be a poor polish kid too, now I'm a middle income European."

Pier Deadline Likely 2 Be Extended
From the GREAT Richard Moore at the Lakeland-Times. If you have piers, it's time to brush up on your property rights.
Pier registration deadline likely to be extended - The Lakeland Times - Minocqua, WI:
"Yes, the bad news is, the deadline has passed; the good news is, you will likely get an extension.
Unfortunately, that's not taxes we're talking about, but the deadline for the registration of older piers in Wisconsin, which was April 1.
Under current law, older piers are considered exempt from regulation so long as their platform is less than 200 square feet (or 300 square feet, but can be no more than 10 feet wide), was placed prior to Feb 6, 2004, and was registered with the state Department of Natural Resources by April 1, 2011.
Now, with that deadline passed and with perhaps thousands of such piers still not registered, the chairmen of the Assembly and Senate Natural Resources Committees have introduced companion legislation to extend the registration deadline for those exempt - or 'grandfathered' - piers, and they also say they are going to work to modify the regulations themselves.
Sen. Neal Kedzie (R-Elkhorn) and Rep. Jeff Mursau (R-Crivitz) both say they believe significant changes are necessary to address confusion and complications with the law."

Looks Like A Little Firefighters Friction Going On
Firefighters' union money goes local - Jeanne Cummings - POLITICO.com:
"By JEANNE CUMMINGS | 4/26/11 2:15 PM EDT Updated: 4/26/11 5:17 PM EDT
As newly elected Republican state legislatures aggressively push a slew of anti-union measures, the International Association of Fire Fighters is freezing its federal political spending and shifting all resources toward its beleaguered state and local colleagues.
“With the survival of our union and the ability to preserve and protect the rights, wages, and benefits our members deserve in jeopardy in the states, we have re-evaluated how to get the best results from our political dollars,” IAFF President Harold A. Schaitberger said Tuesday in an email blast to members that was obtained by POLITICO."
Huh, interesting.

Hansen, Holperin Short Money, Why Not Just Drop Out Of The Recall Race
Wis. GOP senator raises $230k as lawmakers attempt to fight recall efforts :: The Republic:
"Sen. Jim Holperin of Conover and Sen. Dave Hansen of Green Bay lead Democratic contributions. Both campaigns report more than $90,000 in contributions in the last month. The majority came from the state Democratic Party."
So most came from the dem party? So where's Hansen and Holperin's grassroots contributers? Huh, I think they both will need more. I'm just waiting to find out who will run against these two FLEEBAGGERS? Who do I write the check to?
You sure you two dems maybe, ah, might want to resign before the fun begins?

Dems Nose Is Growing
Update from Wisconsin Reporter
UPDATED: GOP alleges Democrats intimidating recall petition signers:
"Mike Tate, chairman of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin said in a statement that his organization launched the telephone campaign Monday in response to reports of people who had been “misled by Republican petition circulators.”
“To ensure people haven't been duped or lied to by shady political operatives, we performed a random survey of petition signers,” Tate said in a statement released on Tuesday. “The phone vendor who performed the survey acknowledges it mistakenly called from an inaccurate number for a limited number of calls, which inadvertently led some people who received these calls to believe they were emanating from Aurora Baycare in Green Bay. The calls did not come from Aurora Baycare nor does Aurora Baycare have any involvement in the party's efforts to resolve concerns with questionable tactics that were used by the Republican circulators. The vendor has taken responsibility for the error, and apologized for any inconvenience. In light of ongoing reports of GOP circulators misleading voters about recall petitions, we will continue to vigilantly protect people from those who seek to gather signatures by distortion and trickery.'
A message left for Hansen’s press office in Green Bay was not immediately returned."

Fake Hospital Calls From Wis. Democrats
Steve has the story of how low Wisconsin democrats will go. Also, the same harassment is coming from Holperin's 12th Senate District.
No Runny Eggs » Blog Archive » DPW falsifying Caller ID info to harass those who want to recall ‘Rat Senators:
"The Republican Party of Wisconsin brought forth evidence of the Democrat Party of Wisconsin (or people representing them) usurping the good name of Green Bay’s Aurora BayCare Medical Center to phone in intimidation attempts to those who signed recall petitions against Democrat state senator Dave Hansen. Quoting from RPW Executive Director Mark Jefferson:
It’s disgusting that the Dems would use a fake call from a hospital to trick people into answering their phones – only so they could harass and intimidate them into saying they did not sign a recall petition. People who received that call may have feared the worst – an unexpected call from a hospital can bring terrible news about a loved one. The Democrats’ intent was obviously to confuse and upset people, hoping they would be disoriented and easily tricked into saying they had not signed a recall petition. Dave Hansen’s political career may be coming to an end because he fled to Illinois, but that doesn’t excuse this cruel, desperate tactic.
Once again, the DPW proves itself unworthy of any future majority."

What About Taking Away Ethanol Subsidies
Obama proposes to eliminate subsidies to energy sources “of the past” - Best Growth Stock Investment:
"Lake Tahoe, NV (Best Growth Stock) – The U.S. president, Barack Obama today proposed eliminating subsidies of U.S. $ 4,000 million that oil and gas companies receive a year of taxpayers’ money to invest in the energy of the future."
I don't think so.

Ford posts best 1Q profit in 13 years - Yahoo! Finance:
"Dee-Ann Durbin, AP Auto Writer, On Tuesday April 26, 2011, 9:07 am
DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) -- Ford posted its best first-quarter profit in 13 years, as its new, more fuel-efficient vehicles reached showrooms during a surge in gasoline prices.
New arrivals such as the Ford Explorer and Fiesta small car are selling well. Company profits are growing around the world. And Ford is charging more for its cars, helping offset higher commodity costs.
Ford Motor Co. on Tuesday said its profit rose 22 percent to $2.6 billion profit, its best first-quarter performance since 1998. It was the company's eighth straight quarterly profit in its long climb back from near-bankruptcy five years ago."

In The Belly Of The Beast
The great Richard Moore is in the belly of the beast (Milwaukee). Has he lost his mind?
I hope he doesn't stay long, I would hate to see him move left! I trust he will get back home with his steady, level headed point of view for those of us who follow his work.

When you're in a city like Milwaukee – where I am writing from this morning – it's hard to get perspective, especially if you live here. It's like another planet. In the neighborhood, which is very Democratic, yards are still aflutter with JoAnne Kloppenburg signs, while there's a rightly visible number of Recall Walker bumper stickers on cars. One friend of mine insists that a successful Walker recall is a done deal; she cannot envision any way he could win. She works, of course, at UW-Milwaukee.
That's what happens when you live in a political environment that is not only one-sided but in the minority. People get embedded in the immediate world around them, and they tell each other what they all want to hear, and convince themselves the entire world agrees with them. It's called Group Think, and it's what the DNR has done internally for years.
Go read the rest.
