A good READ
22 WAYS TO BE A GOOD DEMOCRAT
1. You have to be against capital punishment, but support abortion on demand.
2. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.
3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Chinese and North Korean communists.
4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.
5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by documented cyclical changes in the earth's climate and more affected by soccer moms driving SUV's.
6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being homosexual is natural.
7. You have to believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.
8. You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach fourth graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.
9. You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but loony activists who have never been outside of San Francisco do.
10. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it.
11. You have to believe that Mel Gibson spent $25 million of his own money to make "The Passion of the Christ" for financial gain only.
12. You have to believe the NRA is bad because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.
13. You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.
14. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Edison, and A.G. Bell.
15. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides are not.
16. You have to believe that Hillary Clinton is normal and is a very nice person.
17. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried is because the right people haven't been in charge.
18. You have to believe conservatives telling the truth belong in jail, but a liar and a sex offender belonged in the White House.
19. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag, transvestites, and bestiality should be constitutionally protected, and manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.
20. You have to believe that illegal Democrat Party funding by the Chinese Government is somehow in the best interest to the United States
21. You have to believe that this message is a part of a vast, right wing conspiracy.
22. You have to believe that it's okay to give Federal workers the day off on Christmas Day but it's not okay to say "Merry Christmas."
Take that you lib's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why Can't This Happen To Us?
From the Shawano Leader
No further comment is necessary!!!!!!!!!
By Grace Kirchner, Leader correspondent
Taxpayers in Marion will see a decrease on the city’s portion of their 2008 tax bills.
The Common Council set the levy at $475,000, down $28,000 or about 5.8 percent.
“We took a hard look at expenses. An employee that was shared with the water and sewer departments and the city resigned and we did not replace that person,” said Mayor Pat Mielke.
The budget will be up 1.94 percent to $1.31 million.
“I am very comfortable with the budget and I don’t think we’ll run short,” Mielke said.
The new budget includes money to finish the pond project. The Marion Pond had been drained and refilled, with some finishing touches and things to work out with the DNR remaining.
Also, Bertram Street will be extended out to Highway 110 and Railroad Street will be abandoned.
“We expect the street project to begin in spring and take three to four months. We have been working on it for over a year,” Mielke said.
The equalized valuation of the city is up about $500,000. The portion of the city in Shawano County increased about $1 million while the part in Waupaca County declined because revaluation of some property, Mielke said.
Can someone from Marion please call the Town of Underhill!!!!!!!!

DOT: Packers game could bring out drunken drivers
The Post-Crescent
MADISON — As fans across the state prepare to head to sports bars and private parties for tonight’s game between the Packers and Cowboys, the state Department of Transportation is urging responsibility.
"We hope that fans will be celebrating a Packer victory tonight. But we certainly don't want a celebration to turn to tragedy because of drunken driving. Packer fans shouldn't let their fellow fans drive drunk," said Dennis Hughes, manager of safety programs for the State Patrol’s Bureau of Transportation Safety in a press release. There will likely be more fans than usual on the road across Wisconsin because thousands of fans outside of the Green Bay and Milwaukee media markets who don’t have satellite television at home will be forced to look for the game elsewhere. The game is not on the state’s major cable providers. The State Patrol advises:
Choose a sober designated driver before the game.Sorry . I am at home to watch the game, will my wife drive me home, it's quite a long drive!
If you're feeling buzzed, you probably are over the 0.08 percent (alcohol concentration) limit and should not drive. I just had my second martini, I have not caught a buzz yet.
Take mass transit, a taxicab or ask a sober friend to drive you home. I have no friends tonight except for Brett, and he's in Texas, what do I do?
Some taverns and restaurants have programs to provide patrons with a safe ride home. The local bars down the road do not have those programs , what do I do?
It doesn't matter with a Packer win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You Asked For, You Got It
For all you libs who just love these roundabouts.
You know, if it's just small vehicle traffic it may be fine , but what about all the big trucks that take commerce across this great state.
They want to put a couple on HWY 22 and HWY 32 in Oconto Falls and Gillett. Wisconsin DOT, you need to get your head examined.
How much time was lost to business closed ( no power) !!!
Traffic held up - the HWY was closed for How many Hours!!!!!
Lucky today no serious injuries!!
What will we do in 5 to 10 years when we have to start taking these out and go back to regular intersections. Can we say more taxes to fix the WDOT's mistakes.
Yes we can!!!!!!!

Dallas Cowboy put-downs galore!
Q: What do you call 47 people sitting around a TV watching the Playoffs? A: The Dallas Cowboys
Q: How many players did the Cowboys dress for their last game? A: 22. The rest dressed themselves.
Q: What's Jerry Jones' biggest concern? A: Does bail money count against the salary cap? Q: What do you call a drug ring in Dallas? A: A huddle.
Q: Four Dallas Cowboys are in a car. Who's driving? A: The police.
Q: Why can't Michael Irvin get into a huddle on the field anymore? A: It is a parole violation for him to associate with known Felons.
I understand Chicago is trying to sign Michael Irvin. They got rid of the refrigerator and now they want a coke machine.
The Dallas newspapers reported yesterday that Texas Stadium is going to take out the artificial turf because the Cowboys play better on "grass".
The Dallas Cowboys adopted a new "Honor System". Yes, your Honor, No, your Honor.
The Cowboys had a 8 and 8 season this year. 8 arrests, 8 convictions.
The Cowboys knew they had to do something for their defense, so they hired a new defensive coordinator; Johnny Cochran.
Q: What's the difference between a Cowboys fan and a baby? A: Eventually the baby stops whining.
A woman in Dallas calls 911. When the officer answers the phone the woman is hysterical and tells the cop that a man has just broken into her home and she thinks he intends to rape her. The officer explain that they are just extremely busy at the moment and tells her "Just get the guy's jersey number and we'll get back to you."

Their Taking Over The Country
From the International Herald Tribune.
Abu Dhabi buys part of CITI Group
By agreeing to purchasing a $7.5 billion stake in the faltering banking giant Citigroup, the secretive, government-controlled Abu Dhabi Investment Authority is breaking with tradition.
So they are going to invest into CITI group, wow. I thought we didn't want foreign country's investing or owning U S company's.
I wonder where they got their money to buy a portion of CITI? Flush with cash from its oil exports, Abu Dhabi turned to Wall Street, using a complicated transaction late Monday to buy 4.9 percent of Citigroup, acquiring high-yield, convertible stock that must be exchanged for common stock between March 2010 and September 2011.
Abu Dhabi is the largest oil producer of the seven United Arab Emirates and is eager to spend its petrodollars. So we buy their oil and they buy our companies, WOW , who would of thought!
This is an interesting comment.
Abu Dhabi also has an interest in making sure the U.S. economy does not slow further, Ginsberg said, which helps to make investments like the Citigroup stake more attractive.
Will there be any outrage from the average Joe or Jane for the middle east buying up the United States ? They blame Bush for high oil prices and when the money they spend on oil and gasoline go up, it's Cheney's fault. When you point out that there money is going to country's in the middle east and they intern are buying American company's , they say nothing. When you tell them we have oil in Alaska or in the Gulf , they say we have to save the caribou. When China is drilling for oil in the gulf coast by Cuba they say nothing. You lefties sure know how to sand bag people with the Dem's and the MSM!
The real problem is that the left hasn't figured out how to blame Bush on this.
My take is, this Abu Dhabi buy out is good, it saves CITI ( CITI should not have gotten into this problem to begin with) and you can see they do not want the U S economy to tank. It's good to have friends who have money. Another question might be will the left jump into bed with these company's to line their pockets. Also, what will Abu Dhabi want in return for saving the U S? What will Rubin get out of this?
Pay backs are hell!!!!!!!!

Kagen holds sessions on immigration after visit to border
Bill in House would increase border patrol
By J.E. Espino Gannett Wisconsin Newspapers
Less than a week after returning from his visit to the U.S.-Mexico border, U.S. Rep. Steve Kagen is making his rounds through Northeastern Wisconsin to talk immigration issues.
Kagen, D-Appleton, is holding forums with community leaders and businesses today in Waupaca and Shawano and Wednesday in Appleton. Kagen also hopes to open similar dialogue Thursday in Green Bay, but no details were available Sunday. He is taking questions but is also promoting the Secure America with Verification and Enforcement Act.
"I think it's a good first step. It may not be the complete solution, but begins to define some of the (answers)," Kagen said Sunday of the immigration bill, which has gained the support of 45 Democrats and 68 Republicans in the House as of Nov. 15. He was against funding a wall and is now for building a wall?
Will someone ask him about the six bills he voted for to dole out free money to illegal immigrants?
Remember these;
-Steve Kagen voted against prohibiting taxpayer funding for so called “sanctuary cities” that harbor illegal immigrants. (Roll Call 485; June 15, 2007)
- Steve Kagen voted against full funding for the construction of the border fence as mandated by Congress. (Roll Call 490; June 15 , 2007)
- Steve Kagen voted against requiring persons receiving federal housing assistance to provide valid identification. (Roll Call 628; July 12, 2007)
- Steve Kagen voted to give illegal immigrants taxpayer-funded healthcare benefits. (Roll Call 787; August 1, 2007)
- Steve Kagen voted against a motion that would have prevented illegal immigrants from accessing federal housing assistance, which is intended for low-income Americans. (Roll Call 814; August 2, 2007)
- Steve Kagen again voted against a measure designed to prevent illegal immigrant from receiving government housing assistance funds. (Roll Call 875; September 18, 2007)

A Very Wise Person
After a productive day yesterday the neighbor lady came over last night for a couple of drinks. My wife , the neighbor and I sitting up front looking at the now frozen lake enjoying adult beverages.
I have to give her a lot of credit. I am not sure where she got her common sense from but she is blessed with knowledge and good judgement. You may not like what she says but she does know what she's talking about.
Through the many conversations, one thing I brought up was, why does everyone think I am an idiot when it comes to government, world issues, etc, etc.
I told her that it irritates the heck out of me when were all together (friends on the lake, family etc.) that everyone thinks I'm a jerk for bringing up high taxes or Hillary, or Rush or politics in general. I told her it irritates me that no one goes to the town meetings and cares about anything in local government unless they want something or the town is taxing the heck out of them. Hey I'm trying to learn good government, why doesn't anyone else?????????
I didn't bring it up but I should of mentioned how some or most people believe everything in the MSM and don't see the truth. Stem cell research, global warming, Katrina, Iraq. Typical sheep being lead to the slaughter.
She said "Paul, you are very knowledgeable on matters that mean a lot to all of us". " You should be a politician", no I cannot be a politician.
" But you cannot bring up issues like that when you drink." "You get too emotional and go off the deep end with your discussions".
I told her I am passionate about things that are important to me. Is it wrong to care ?
She said, "that's fine but do it when your not drinking".
I know that when one drinks the truth surely always comes out. I guess that's why we have the problems we have with alcohol. Someone will say something, it may be the truth, someone else may not like it and arguments occur, friendships get broken, some people may be physically hurt. This is one of the great problems we need to address in society.
I learned something last night. Thanks neighbor. Alcohol can be a persons downfall.
I guess the moral of the story, I need to let people ramble, let them spout off stupid things when were having a get together. I need to leave my badge at the door and discuss important issues at the time of my choosing and not there's. I can live with that. No I will not stop drinking but I need to use common sense.
I guess the reason I am writing this is that I do care for people. Just because I am a conservative and vote primarily republican, I am not a bad person. I do have an opinion and I must learn to say it at the right time. I hope my children can learn to be open minded. To stand up for what they believe. To not let someone talk them into things that may not be true or may not be right. I may be hard on them but I know when they leave on their own they can make it in this world.
The good Lord created us all different, we have to all do a better job discussing issues, opinions, be more opened minded. That doesn't mean I will give up on my beliefs. So to all or the few that may read my blog, Enjoy it, if you don't like it , say so, I am opened minded to every one's thoughts. It's good to have some people tell you whats right , what wrong and sometimes where to go. Time will tell if a persons short time on this earth will make a difference. Only our Maker will answer that question.
I will try to do better, to be a better person, to be a better husband , to be a better father and to be a better friend.
Enough said, thanks for reading.
We have one GREAT neighbor.
She should write a book. I would buy the first copy.

Wow, back in 1990 my wife and I owned a duplex in Howard on Glendale Ave..
I look at today's Green Bay Press and read about an armed stand off.
Something about the address seemed familiar.

HOWARD — It was still dark Saturday morning when Matthew Ellis' neighbors began receiving phone calls from the Brown County Sheriff's Department telling them to move to their basements and stay there.
Dawn Reimer, who lives next door to the duplex at 2906 Glendale Ave. where Ellis, 25, conducted a more than eight-hour standoff with sheriff's deputies, said she received a call about 5 a.m. from the sheriff's department instructing her and her 9-year-old daughter to "turn off all the lights … get dressed and get out."
That's where My wife and daughter lived there till we bought a house the next street over. Wow , I guess in a small way we are a part of the front page of the paper.
