Ugly In The 8th District Update 3, MSM Edition

.
I received a comment from the now famous Stephen Kastner from the
Door County Style Magazine. He felt compelled to give me his intellectual thoughts on what i wrote on my post Berry Laker: It's Getting Ugly In The Wisconsin 8th Before I get to Mr Kastner's comments I would like to say this.

A while back a good friend and blog mentor from Algoma asked me if he could help me take my blog and posts to a higher level. I declined for I am a simple guy. I go to church on Sunday ,love my wife and family and blog for fun. Yes there are times I need to use spell check, may not bridge sentences together in the most eloquent way and do not get paid for blogging. It is just a platform for me to voice my opinion since the media ignore most people like me. Isn't it fascinating, the power of the internet. To those that read my blog, I do give them a warning. It is on the left side of my blog,

Just here to tell you what I think, what I like and what I don't like. Not recommended for anyone leaning left. I am CONSERVATIVE

Let me now comment on Stephen's Pulitzer Prize rebuttal to me.

    Stephen Kastner said...

Why don't you just ask the "guy in Door County" instead of pretending to be exposing something newsworthy?
Stephen, Stephen may I call you Steve, you wrote the article, I read the article on the world wide web and you want me to call you? I'm not the one pretending. I don't get paid to put media spin on press releases from political candidates. Let me remind you, this is a blog and not a newspaper or magazine.

If I publish a Press Release, as editor... I edit.
Oh, so your an editor. You sure got me beat. Your above my pay scale. Did you give yourself a raise this year?

I also read Terri's entire book and came to respect her "maverick" qualities.
There you go, throwing out that maverick word, Did you also vote for John McCain? I don't want a 'maverick, i want to see a conservative elected. By the way, since you know how to read I recommend some other fine books. "The Way Things Ought To Be" and "See I Told You So" by Rush Limbaugh and "Going Rogue" by Sara Palin

A few months ago, I wrote a review of that book and linked to it in the article you refer to. I recently faulted her for worrying about rabid conservatives like yourself when 50% of the voters in her poll remain undecided.
As seen on page 37 in the lefts handbook, "rabid conservatives"? Ouch, that hurt! O K, you warned her about people like me. People that pay taxes, work hard everyday, donate to charities, earthquake relief efforts and help those in need. Yep, average hard working people need to be exterminated like a rabid dog. Your intellectual superiority is showing.

These are the core voters, none of whom will give a damn for what you say against a candidate who serves a populist base first and Party ideology (as defined by "leaders" like Limbaugh and Palin) second or not at all.
Geeezzz, did I hit a nerve? I do not care if people give a damn what I say. What I say is my own opinion, my own thoughts, my own blog. You being in the media seem to be getting a little upset about a guy in northern Wisconsin. There goes all your creditability, you had to bring up two of my hero's, Rush and Sara Palin. Why didn't you throw Ronald Reagen's name in as well? You seem to have your finger on the pulse of the people in this country, yea, yea were all a bunch of nuts out here in the heartland.

I am not paid by Terri McCormick.
Man, you could of fooled me. Did she promise you a position in Washington?

I simply believe she is the best candidate. She has experience at dealing with the nasty Republican Machine that demands that you bow down and serve... and she refuses, especially when it conflicts with her integrity.
Thanks for being up front and honest for your choice for congress. Why didn't you say that in your article? We both could of saved each other a lot of time and your grief, I would just of ignored your article completely. Nasty Republican machine? Since you know Terry so well, why not tell her to run as a democrat and you would really be happy for her.

If Republicans expect to rescue what's left of their party from the Neocons, like we had to do once before in the days of Barry Goldwater, then it's time to stand up for any candidate who rises up out of populism and not from serving "front line political animals," as Terri describes them.
Whoa! Nellie! "Neocons, Berry Goldwater", people like you rescued the party? I don't even belong to the republican party. I did once, but gave up on them, you know, RINO's, mavericks, gang of 8, 15, hey buddy, calm down.

So Terry calls republicans "ANIMALS"! I did not know that, thanks for telling me. I'll keep that a secret, I won't tell anyone! So if I vote for a conservative canidate and not for Terry McCormick, I am an ANIMAL? You need to write an article about her animal comment and put it in your magazine. It might be a great read. Do you think you can handle that?

The reason she scares you so badly is because you cannot control her with ideology as defined from the top down. She will serve her constituents first and I look forward to voting for that kind of chamge.
12:54 PM

Terry does not scare me. Her Kagen like press tactics show me the real Terry McCormick. I will not vote for another maverick who will tell me one thing and does another in Washington DC. You like press releases? Go to Kagen's web site. He put's out press release almost every day and the MSM picks them up as news all the time. Phony articles to mislead voters is not my kind of candidate.

I will not hold my nose in the voting booth ever again. I will not vote for the lesser of two evils. I am conservative first and republican second. No I am not advocating a third party. I am looking for a conservative candidate that will  bring this country back to it's greatness, eliminate the debt everyone's grandchildren are saddled with and once again stand proud for God and my country. Terry McCormick is not my candidate for the Wisconsin 8th Congressional district.

I am a resident of this state and a citizen of this country. I will do my best to inform people of what I see and what my opinion is on any subject I see fit. I do not get paid for what I do but honor the freedom I was bestowed by this great country.

P S, someone passed this on to me. Maybe copy it and hang it above your desk.

Ugly In The 8th District Update

How come the Berry Laker Family didn't get a census form? Do they not want to count a white, conservative, middle income, legal citizen, United States of America family. Are they afraid to enter the bunker in the north woods? I couldn't find a family photo so I got this from Google image. It will do.

Where is our stash? We will not fill any form or talk to any census worker unless we get

one census mouse pad,

one census coffee mug, ceramic, not a plastic travel mug,

one census jean cap.

Steve Kagen, Are You Kidding Me

A great read from FoxPolitics
"4/28/2010
Business owners really, really ticked at Kagen

I suppose Rep. Kagen wasn’t following proper etiquette when he invited small businesses in northeast Wisconsin to “explore [the] benefits of [the] new health care law." The announcement came out last Thursday afternoon – I saw it via a Chamber e-mail Friday – for meetings at 7:30 AM Monday in Green Bay and that same morning at 10 in Appleton. Hardly time to fashion an RSVP, much less buy a new hat for the occasion.

Fox 11’s headline read “Small businesses unhappy with health care law, insurance costs.” Reporter Mark Leland wrote that “Kagen is finding some resistance to the new law. He says understanding the details has been a problem, but he maintains there’s something in it for everyone.” (I didn’t see anything from Gannett – in the Post-Crescent or Press Gazette – did anyone else see it?)

“Unhappy?" "Some resistance?” Are you kidding me? Dr. Kagen is completely missing the diagnosis, much less the cure. "

Has Diamond Jim Doyle Lost His Mind

The Green Bay Press's Kelly McBride scrapes the bottom of the barrel or owes Jim Doyle one last positive spin story before he leaves office. Has he lost his mind? Is he wandering the national forest with out a GPS or compass? My God what happen to him? Still promising children free education they will not get.

Here Doyle is still promising free college to students who sign up for his covenant program
.
"Doyle touts covenant pledge at UWGB visit
College admittance, financial aid guaranteed for keeping pactBy Kelly McBride

kmcbride@greenbaypressgazette.com • April 29, 2010

Eighth-grade students from across Northeastern Wisconsin were asked to look into the future Wednesday during a Wisconsin Covenant Days celebration at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

Gov. Jim Doyle was on hand to encourage about 180 eighth-graders from three middle schools to sign the covenant, a pledge that offers college admittance and financial aid in exchange for good grades and civic engagement.

The governor touted the UW System, as well as the state's private and technical colleges, during his remarks.

"They all want you," Doyle said. "They're looking for great, committed students. … That's what the covenant is all about."

The pledge requires students to graduate from high school with a B average, take the necessary courses to prepare for college and to be good citizens. In exchange, the covenant program will make sure its students have a place at a Wisconsin public, private or technical school, and provide need-based financial aid."
Doyle touts covenant pledge at UWGB visit | greenbaypressgazette.com | Green Bay Press-Gazette
First only 180 students were there. I bet they were teacher, city, county, and other union peoples children. Those poor children were sent there to keep the DNC happy to do one last photo op for Doyle. What will these students be told in three years when they plan on getting a free ride at school and their parents tell them, no we don't have the money for you and back in 2010 you were just a prop  for our former governor.

So Diamond Jim promises free college education? You mean like this program from On Campus that only pays some money and not all like Jim Doyle has been promising for the last couple years.
"Students in the Wisconsin Covenant program would get between $250 and $2,500 during their first two years of college under funding levels that Gov. Jim Doyle proposed today.

But it will be up to Doyle's successor to seek funding for the program, and the next Legislature to appropriate that money. Doyle's term ends at the end of this year.

The Wisconsin Covenant is Doyle's effort to increase college enrollment by making a compact with students in the state. If they promise to maintain a ‘B' average in high school, practice good citizenship and complete course requirements, they will be guaranteed a place in a Wisconsin college or university and given some financial aid.

The rules released today would give three levels of grant money to Covenant students for their first four semesters: $2,500 for the neediest students; $1,000 to $1,500 for students whose families have higher incomes but still qualify for assistance; and $250 for students whose families do not qualify for financial aid."
On Campus: Doyle releases Wisconsin Covenant funding details
$250 up to $2500 will go a long way towards a full one year education at UWGB. Oh, there's a catch,

"it will be up to Doyle's successor to seek funding for the program, and the next Legislature to appropriate that money. Doyle's term ends at the end of this year."

Whoa, Scott Walker will be left holding the bag and break these students hearts? That's right, it's Scott Walkers fault. What a snake oil salesman Diamond Jim is.

Obviously the new governor will have to clean up the mess Doyle is leaving. I hope these students who will remember it was Doyle and the liberal left who promised the moon and in the end, it was all a lie.

If My Body Were a Car

This is just too funny - scary how true it is!!

IF MY BODY WERE A CAR..

If my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking
about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents
and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull ..
But that's not the worst of it.

My headlights are out of focus and it's especially hard to see things up close

My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump
into things even in the best of weather.

My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins.

It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently.
But here's the worst of it --

Almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter .either my radiator leaks or my
     exhaust backfires!

By Doug Zellmer and J.E. Espino • Gannett Wisconsin Media • April 28, 2010

Neenah resident Jim Brygger had an unwelcome sense of deja vu Monday morning as he winged his way toward an Oshkosh coffee shop on his Raleigh Grand Prix bicycle.

"All of a sudden I rode into something like a cloud," Brygger said.

That thick cloud was lake flies. They were swarming just south of Winnebago County A on the south end of Neenah. Brygger slowed to a crawl, lowered his head and shielded himself with his helmet."

"Assembly Majority Leader Tom Nelson to run for lieutenant governor
Kaukauna Democrat leader plans formal announcement

By Ben Jones • Post-Crescent Madison bureau • April 28, 2010

MADISON — Assembly Majority Leader Tom Nelson, a Kaukauna Democrat, has registered to run for lieutenant governor.

"I intend to make a (formal) announcement within a couple of weeks," Nelson said Tuesday evening.

Nelson, 34, registered with state elections officials earlier Tuesday. He said registering is one of the first steps in organizing a statewide campaign.

Nelson said he has had conversations with local and state leaders over the last couple of months about a bid for the office. However, he said he has been busy with the recently concluded legislative session, so he waited to focus his attention on this race.

Nelson said he'll make the reasons for his bid clear when he makes his formal announcement."

It's Getting Ugly In The Wisconsin 8th

I received an email from my mentor and thought I needed to comment on one of my posts from today.

I first want to say I am just a voter in the Wisconsin 8th district. I did try my hand at trying to help get Steve Kagen unelected in 2008 in the blog "Kagen Watch". Obviously that didn't work. I'm just a regular guy here in my bunker in northern Wisconsin.  I'm not fancy, only have a high school education, yes I need to use spell check, and only blog even if it may not be in proper grammar format, but I love to write. Thank God for Blogger and Google. Even if no one reads my blog, I love doing it! How many people in the 8th don't blog, can't comment, can't really say what's on their mind, don't know what Google Alerts are, ever really see most things on the internet. What do they do? Believe what the media tells them?

I have seen for the last five years how much of a phony Steve Kagen is as my representative in the U.S. Congress. I cannot stand average everyday people getting deceived and snookered all for the sake of protecting their rear end's in politics or trying to advance their career in politics. So here's my beef.

It seems yesterday Terry McCormick put out a press release covered below on WisPolitics. Notice the " Voters are as mad as hell" and don't want to take it anymore according to recent polls by Rasmussen, CNN and Pew."

From WisPolitics and a press release from the Terry McCormick campaign machine.
"APPLETON, WI -- Voters are as "mad as hell" and don't want to take it anymore according to recent polls by Rasmussen, CNN and Pew. This probably explains the rise of the Tea Party movement and the entry of a host of outsider candidates, like author and educator Terri McCormick in Wisconsin's Eighth District. The political establishment has dug in and begun to counter with their own endorsed candidates like Marc Trager and Roger Roth." WisPolitics.com

Now let us go to something I wrote about this morning on the Main Stream Media telling us who to vote for, who is the front runner is and who we should vote for in the upcoming primary election.

From Stephen Kastner from the Door County Style Magazine. Notice the “mad as hell” and don’t want to take it anymore according to recent polls by Rasmussen, CNN, Pew."

"Posted on 26. Apr, 2010 by Stephen Kastner in News
Voters on both sides of the fence are as “mad as hell” and don’t want to take it anymore according to recent polls by Rasmussen, CNN, Pew… and Dane & Assoc. in the 8th CD.

Conservatives rage against what appears to be a creeping wave of “socialism,” while the opposite pole describes the shift in government as a steady move toward “facism.” Meanwhile, it seems that neither Republicans nor Democrats are minding the Treasury as billions of dollars are simply lost in what one writer calls the new American Kleptocracy… and voters are fed up."
Polling Indicates McCormick Leads Republican Primary Opponents and Tops Rep. Steve Kagen in Wisconsin’s 8th CD | Door County Style

Does Stephen Kastner work for Terry McCormick? Is he a paid campaign worker? Does he have his own agenda? What gives?

Let me repeat myself from this earlier post.
"I will not hold my nose in the voting booth like I had to in 2008! How soon do people forget the McCain debacle. Looks like the media is trying to pick our (conservative voters who are MAD AS HELL) candidate."
Berry Laker: Media Trying To Pick 8th District Candidate.
And this!
First, the tea party people have no leader, the tea party movement is here today to throw out liberals and RINO's. To put Terri McCormick in the same sentence with the Tea Party grass roots people is a travesty of journalism. I have not endorced any candidate as of yet but I will not be told who to vote for. Remember when the democrats choose the candidate in the last presidential election.
And also this!
McCormick perceived as a outsider? John McCain was a maverick? Don't insult the people of the 8th district. Who did they call in the district? Looks like the people in the Appleton area were only called. The people of the Wisconsin 8th do not need another me too Kagen candidate in Washington.

To be in politics today you have to be pretty ugly, to put out press releases and then probably talk the media into spreading your press releases as news to advance your position. The poor people in the 8th think this is news and don't know any better. Is it  just politics as usual?

I am also "MAD AS HELL" for Terry McCormick pulling this left leaning democrat stunt to advance her position in the upcoming republican primary.

As long as I'm commenting on Terry McCormick's UGLY politics, let me show you a comment on my earlier post from Terry or one of her minions.
"Anonymous said...

Savard is incompetent. McCormick is the Tea Party candidate.
8:34 AM " Berry Laker: Media Trying To Pick 8th District Candidate.

Is this person for real? If anyone can relate to the TEA PARTY it is Marc Savard who helped organize the first tea party in Green Bay thirteen months ago. Where in the heck was Terry McCormick in March of 2009?

I will now cross off Terry McCormick off my list of candidates for the upcoming primary election. I will also call it like I see it on McCormick's campaign. I am conservative first, republican second and will not vote for a RINO! We do not need another Steve Kagen like Terry McCormick in the 8th district in Wisconsin.

By the way, will anyone in the main stream media look into this story? I am trying to dig into it and it is taking some time.

When Terry McCormick was running for the 8th in 2006 and lost, did any of her campaign people go work for Steve Kagen? Did any people who worked for Terry McCormick go work for Steve Kagen? If true, that would tell me McCormick and Kagen are two peas in a pod. They say your only as good as the people you work with. Maybe Terry's people knew something we are now finding out.

Do we need a Steve Kagen RINO look alike in Washington DC? No, we don't need another Pelosi puppet Steve Kagen in congress.

Sorry Terry, you lost my vote with your low down dirty underhanded UGLY campaign tactics!

Media Trying To Pick 8th District Candidate.

I will not hold my nose in the voting booth like I had to in 2008! How soon do people forget the McCain debacle. Looks like the media is trying to pick our (conservative voters who are MAD AS HELL) candidate. From Marc Savards back door, the Door County Style Magazine.

"Polling Indicates McCormick Leads Republican Primary Opponents and Tops Rep. Steve Kagen in Wisconsin’s 8th CD

Posted on 26. Apr, 2010 by Stephen Kastner in News
Voters on both sides of the fence are as “mad as hell” and don’t want to take it anymore according to recent polls by Rasmussen, CNN, Pew… and Dane & Assoc. in the 8th CD.

Conservatives rage against what appears to be a creeping wave of “socialism,” while the opposite pole describes the shift in government as a steady move toward “facism.” Meanwhile, it seems that neither Republicans nor Democrats are minding the Treasury as billions of dollars are simply lost in what one writer calls the new American Kleptocracy… and voters are fed up.

This probably explains the rise of the Tea Party movement and the entry of a host of outsider candidates, like author and educator Terri McCormick in Wisconsin’s Eighth District. The political establishment on both sides has dug in their heels, trying to hang on by supporting loyal incumbents or launching their own select opposition candidates. It seems that voters are simply disgusted to learn that the only thing both parties seem to have in common is their contributions from Wall Street."
Polling Indicates McCormick Leads Republican Primary Opponents and Tops Rep. Steve Kagen in Wisconsin’s 8th CD | Door County Style

In Wisconsin’s 8th CD, eight Republican primary candidates have stepped up to oppose Democratic incumbent, Rep. Steve Kagen. Former WI State Assembly Rep., Terri McCormick, though not the establishment favorite, has emerged as the District’s current lead candidate – as evidenced by a recent Dane and Assoc. tracking survey. According to Dane results, McCormick leads the primary field among Republicans with 14% followed by Roth with 11.1%, Trager with10.3%, Ribble with 4.5%, and the rest of the field with a 9.9%. The key factor that remains in this race is the large number of undecided voters at 50.2%.

The telephone survey of high-propensity registered voters within the 8th Congressional District, conducted in March 23-24, 2010 may make old-school Republican favorites like Marc Trager and Roger Roth, as well as Congressman Kagen himself a little “dazed and confused.”

“The real advantage to the McCormick campaign is the anti-incumbent mood of the 8th district coupled with a 60% opposition to Obamacare, spelling disaster for liberal Democrat Steve Kagen,” says pollster Tony Dane. Kagen’s favorable rating stands at 35.7% and his unfavorable opinion is at 47.6% for a negative 12%.

Although McCormick is recognized as an experienced former Republican state legislator, she is perceived as an outsider even from within her own party from her reputation as a real “maverick,” one who reports and responds to her constituency first and her party second. Her grassroots loyalties and common sense message as expressed in her recent book seem to be resonating with disheartened voters of both major parties. In this crowded field, McCormick stands out as the only candidate with electoral name recognition, true leadership experience and a measurable track record.

McCormick perceived as a outsider? John McCain was a maverick? Don't insult the people of the 8th district. Who did they call in the district? Looks like the people in the Appleton area were only called. The people of the Wisconsin 8th do not need another me too Kagen candidate in Washington.
“These numbers clearly indicate that Steve Kagen is headed for retirement in this conservative district,” says polster Tony Dane. “From the Cap and Tax bill to a new economic stimulus bill, more bailouts for banks or businesses, and comprehensive immigration reform, Kagen is going to have a tough time,” says Dane.

The only true statement I see in this article is Steve Kagen is headed for retirement.
GOP Primary, Republicans
McCormick …. 13.99%
Ribble ……….. 4.53%
Roth …………. 11.11%
Trager ………… 10.29%
Other ………… 9.88%
Undecided …… 50.21%

Gen. Election Ballot Test
Kagen …………. 37.94%
McCormick …… 44.58%
Undecided ……. 17.48%

Kagen Vitals
Favorable ……… 35.77%
Unfavorable …… 47.56%
Undecided ……. 16.67%

The sample size of 500 yields a sampling error of less than +/- 4.5%.

Terri McCormick supporters say she is well positioned to become the outsider with the name ID and experience to oust “Obama’s Doctor.” She tops a large primary field primarily because she has a base and a strong conservative constituency.

“Although the primary is still months away, the smart money should be on McCormick,” concludes Dane.

Smart money, are they kidding? Did McCormick pay for the survey? The voters of the Wisconsin 8th cannot get hood winked by the left and the main stream media into sending Kagen back to Washington or sending a RINO to represent the people of the district in November.

It's only April and I still have not seen my candidate to run against the Obama, Pelosi puppet named Congressman Steve Kagen.

Door Always Open

Seems Ho-Chunk keeps the door open for more casinos in selected counties in Wisconsin. Funny how close the Menominee Casino in Keshena is a mere mile or so from Shawano County.

From the Shawano Leader.
"Ho-Chunk gives thousands to Shawano County
By Leader staff writer

Shawano County is one of 11 Wisconsin counties receiving money from the Ho-Chunk Nation.

Shawano County last Thursday received $82,500 — and will potentially get that same sum for up to 25 years, under the agreement with the tribe.

The Ho-Chunk Nation’s gaming compact with Wisconsin requires that the Nation make annual payments to the state, with the amount partially based on the earnings from its gambling facilities.

An amendment to that compact, however, allows the Nation to give $1,000 per acre to each Wisconsin county that has tribal trust land.

“The Ho-Chunk Nation always strives to support local communities throughout Wisconsin,” said Ho-Chunk vice president Dan Brown. “During these tough economic times, we hope these payments will help spur economic development, ignite success for many local businesses, and improve neighborhoods.”

The Ho-Chunk Nation potentially will give nearly $2.2 million annually to the 11 counties for at least the next 25 years, which would result in over $55 million to Wisconsin counties.

Three-fourths of the money is going to two counties — Vernon and Jackson — which have by far the most land in tribal trust. Together, those counties received nearly $1.5 million.

Each of the 11 counties have individualized plans on how they will use the additional funds, some projects include: maintenance of roads, highways, parks and bridges, law enforcement patrol, improving electronic communications, funding for human services programs, funding economic development centers, and economic growth.

The money was wired to the counties last Thursday. The Shawano County Board accepted the contribution at its meeting a week ago.

County administrative coordinator Frank Pascarella said the money would be used for capital improvements at Wilson Lake-Voelz Park, which is located two miles west of Wittenberg on Nightingale Road.

Pascarella said the funds will help pay for a new shelter, bathrooms and other improvements at the park, which is near the tracts of land owned by the Ho-Chunk Nation.

“We want to use those funds in an area of visibility, rather than a general purpose,” Pascarella said.

Other counties receiving money are: Adams, Clark, Crawford, Dane, Jackson, Juneau, Monroe, Sauk, Vernon and Wood Counties.

Dan Brown says many community leaders have expressed their excitement about the unexpected funds.

“We’re excited to see how the payments will help improve our local communities,” said Anne Thundercloud, Ho-Chunk public relations officer. “Since the payments will continue for the next 25 years, we expect that everyone in these 11 counties and surrounding communities will benefit in the long run.”"

Wolf population continues to rise in Wisconsin
Lakeland Times, 23 Apr
[Summary:] - Northern Wisconsin's wolf population is now estimated between 702-746, an increase of 75-100 animals since 2008-09, and well in excess of the state's management goal of 350. Experts call for a more flexible management plan. "

Let's Give Peshtogo Some Credit

From the Peshtigo Times.
"Peshtigo Town Board Kills Roundabout Plan
It was the 17th item on the Peshtigo Town Board meeting agenda Tuesday, April 17, and it was quickly disposed of. Chairman Herman Pottratz spoke briefly. “We all looked at it and we have to take juridisdiction to prevent it”. This means adding about a mile of road for the town to maintain and pay for snowplowing. In prior discussions, no one spoke in favor of the roundabout for the three-road intersection of Schacht Road and Old Peshtigo Road. Truck firms were strongly opposed.

The vote was unanimous. The Department of Transportation engineers had cited numbers for roundabouts claiming statistics show far fewer fatality accidents, less severe accidents, and fewer crashes overall, but nobody was convinced."

A win for the people of Wisconsin. Now let's get all the roundabouts on 41 stopped!

"Vandenbroek Town Chairman Jim Steineke joins 5th Assembly District race

April 25, 2010

Vandenbroek Town Chairman Jim Steineke became the third GOP candidate in the 5th Assembly District this week, joining two Hobart residents: real estate agent Craig Fletcher and David Landwehr, who is in construction sales and has served on various Hobart committees.

Steineke, who also serves on the Outagamie County Board, is seeking a rematch in the Nov. 2 election against Kaukauna Democrat Tom Nelson, who gained 64 percent of the vote while defeating him in the 2008 election.

Nelson, the Assembly majority leader, was first elected to the 5th District seat in 2004. He has not announced re-election plans yet and could not be reached for comment." Vandenbroek Town Chairman Jim Steineke joins 5th Assembly District race | greenbaypressgazette.com | Green Bay Press-Gazette
