Packer Hype

Got this from Real Debate.

Yes, the fun is about to begin.

November 23, 2007

This should be a fun week of hype.
Little Johnny was in his Kindergarten class when the teacher asked the children what their fathers did for a living.

All the typical answers came up - fireman, policeman, salesman.Johnny was being uncharacteristically quiet, and so the teacher asked him about his father.

"My father's an exotic dancer in a gay cabaret and takes off all his clothes in front of other men.

"The teacher hurriedly set the other children to work on some coloring in and took little Johnny aside to ask him...

"Is that really true about your father working in a gay strip club?""No" said Johnny, "he really plays for the Dallas Cowboys but I was too embarrassed to say."

Berry Lake Property Owners

To all Property owners on Berry Lake.

Just a note before your tax bill comes in.

As of this morning, the 08 property tax bills have not been issued.
Don't be surprised when you see an increase. For most on the lake and most in the Town of Underhill, last years taxes went down. For the other 2 - 3 percent their taxes went up around 10 %.

So to all residents and property owners of Underhill in 08, I would guess they will go up.

Our taxes go up, we really do not get any services and no one really cares. I give a lot of credit to our town's elected officials. Their monthly meetings are held with really no one going to them unless they want something. Average residents at monthly meetings, probably .05 people.
Still, thank you for your service to the Town of Underhill. Otherwise no body really cares.

Sorry, just venting. My wife and I are putting a pencil to Christmas gifts for our family and dread how much more we will fork over to the town, County, school board, tech school and all the other money grabbers that have their hands in our pockets taking our money.

Link to any property tax address in Oconto County.

Have you been to this site before?
It's free and it tells you a lot about every ones taxes in the county.
You just need an address.
Have fun.

Ice On The Lake

November 23,2007.
9:12 a m

As I look to the north on beautiful Berry Lake Wisconsin ,
I see the lake is completely frozen over.
It may not be thick but I can say Berry Lake is Frozen.

The reason for this posting is that Berry Lake Web site
has a contest to guess the day the lake freezes over.
I am not sure of the specifics of the contest but I want to
make sure someone does not get screwed out of a color
T V or what ever the grand prize is.
So the lake is frozen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P S , a side note, I did bring up to the "powers at be" that the home page of
the Berry Lake web site could use a face lift. It looks like a
home page for the
1) WEAC ,
2) WDNR ,
3) Diamond Jim Doyle ,
4) Vladamer Putins ,
5) Library Association workers ,
6) DNC ,
7) Clinton in 08,
8) Jeff Gordon's,
9) Jimmy Johnson's,
10) Steve Kagen's

My beef is when you open a home page,
you show off what your site is all about.
What reason do people have to go to the Berry Lake Web site.

If you are a weather channel site , you tell people about the weather, not about a parade in Wyoming.

If you are the Green Bay Packer site you talk about the Packers win on Thanksgiving day and not about a poetry class over in Amberg Wis.

If you are a site about Berry Lake Wisconsin, you talk about the ice on the lake this morning. You give thanks on Thanksgiving day for all the people who live on our lake and those that own properties on the lake and look forward to them having a great Turkey feast with their family's.

If you want to talk about how the taxpayers on the lake are getting taxed by all the grants and Wisconsin budgets going up, than find another site.

If your web site is a blog with no one able to comment , than go for it.

If you talk to any web designer, the home page is the first impressions. Now the web designer is not the problem , The designer is in a league of their own. An expert I recommend to any one looking for web site design. The web designer only does what the owners of the web site tells them.

I would like to know what the people who visit the site really want to see. How many people really want to see the site, and for what reason?
How about a counter on the home page to see how many hits the web site is getting!
How about a comment section on the front page so anyone who wants to comment can comment and everyone can read the comments!

Are we trying to hide the web site or hide the lake, if so , get rid of the web site.

Here are a couple of lake web sites.

St Germain Wis

Kelly Lake web site - this site is new. It may even look like a blog site but at least they are talking about their lake and their lake people. Not someone from Oconto Falls.

Anderson Lake B C

Fine, I do not want to complain ( I Am), but give a home page with a big picture of Berry Lake Wisconsin and where it is located and why I should visit the site again. Who won the first ice on lake contest. What the temperture on the lake, etc, etc, etc, KISS- Keep It Simple Stupid!!!!!! And then I would be happy!!!!!!! Put the garbage on a link .

OUCH, That's Gotta Hurt

Went to the Detriot Free Press. You gotta feel for the Lion fans.

Read the article From Drew Sharp,

PACKERS 37, LIONS 26
DREW SHARP:
Lions exposed as frauds; playoff hopes are dim
Ouch, that hurt, what a headline.
November 23, 2007
BY DREW SHARP
FREE PRESS COLUMNIST
A three-game losing streak has exposed the Lions' true identity. They're that seductress that looks much better when the light is dim and the heart desperate, luring those that should know better closer with a wink and a whisper.
But it's only a meaningless flirtation.

That was the Lions' 6-2 start, just another cheap tease passing itself off as respectability.
The hussy! OUCH!!!!

They're not winning four of their final five when the offensive tackles can't keep the edge rushers out of Kitna's face. Green Bay defensive end Aaron Kampman spent so much time in the Lions' backfield, they should have just given him a Honolulu blue and silver helmet and a copy of Mike Martz's playbook. This is a little below the belt, The Packers really did spank-em
Ouch!!!!!!!

Their losses to Arizona and New York leave them with no other playoff alternative than 10 wins because they'll lose any 9-7 or 8-8 tiebreakers to the Cardinals, Giants, Redskins and Eagles because they've lost to all four.
That would require them winning two of these three: Dallas at home and visits to San Diego and Green Bay.
That's not happening, folks and there's no guarantee the freefall hit bottom on Thursday. Doesn't " Green Bay" have a nice ring to it! Can they win in the frozen tundra?

It only makes the disappointment sting even more because the Lions once again exploited the public's vulnerability, sucking them into yet another tease that covered up the truth.
OUCH

Saudi justice
The leading Democratic presidential candidates denounced the sentencing of a Saudi rape victim to 200 lashes and six months in jail and made fresh attacks on the Bush administration over the case, Agence France-Presse reports. Wait a minute, it's Bush's fault? Don't you people know Bush is not running!!!!!! You libs are just a bunch of CANDY'S. ( CANDY'S means CANDY ASS's)
"This is an outrage," Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York said, condemning the administration for declining to call for a reversal of the sentence on the grounds that it was an internal matter.
Yes this may be an outrage but
1) it's not our country,
2) It's not our laws.
3) as Rush said, where are the NAG's on this issue and
4)who in our country wants to tell Saudi Arabia what to do, can we say OIL!

"I urge President Bush to call on King Abdullah to cancel the ruling and drop all charges against this woman. As president, I will once again make human rights an American priority around the world," she said.
So here is the scenario, Bush tells the King Abdullah to let this girl (women) go, or else, King flips George the royal finger, George plays hard ball, the king cuts oil production, oil priced go to $200.00 a barrel, Gasoline goes to $5.00 gal and it's Bush's fault. And Hilary will say that Bush should not get involved with other country's policy's like we should not of got involved in Saddam Hussein!
No matter what , you libs and Candy's will always blame Bush! And the sad part the MSM running with the libs lies and people believe it. So sad for some people to not see what the libs are saying and doing, and they believe what they hear.
As Rush has said in the past, "If you believe nothing, you believe everything".

Stunning upset
Pundits and politicians "are still shaking their heads over the results of the mayoral race in Indiana's capital" earlier this month, John Gizzi writes in Human Events.

You libs are shaking your heads and going "What, your boy (sorry, I meant guy) Bart was suppose to be the second coming", what happened. "DISCLAIMER "I do not know the racial makeup of any candidates and am not libel for any verbal harassment for using derogatory remarks or phrases in my opinion pieces. I am not of African American decent and cannot use such terms as "Boy" -also used in Blazing Saddles and Bill Clinton speaking of Barack O and the other democratic canidates, "Ho" - used by Santa Clause and Imus, or any other terms that I cannot think of at this time. I do apologize in advance for anyone taking those terms out of context. Please forgive me!!!!!!!!!
"Two-term Mayor Bart Peterson, named by Indianapolis magazine as the Democrat to watch for the future, was on just about every Democrat's 'wish list' as a potential governor or U.S. senator before long. He was supposed to waltz to re-election this fall, and Republican heavyweights such as state party Chairman Murray Clark and Marion County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi passed on a race against him," leaving the nomination to Greg Ballard, a former U.S. Marine who had never held office before, Mr. Gizzi said.
These two wienie RINO's didn't see this coming? If you run for lower taxes and less crime , you will win elections.

But a funny thing happened to Peterson on the way to his rendezvous with destiny: He lost. As veteran Indiana GOP consultant Christ Faulkner put it, 'The next day in Indianapolis, with very few exceptions, there were two types of people in political and media circles: Those who admit they were shocked by Ballard's win and liars.' Why are we not hearing about this on the national level!

In what is so far the biggest upset of '07, Republicans won the mayoralty of the largest city in the Hoosier State with a political newcomer. To make the results even sweeter, a 15-to-14 Democratic edge on the City Council was turned into a 16-to-13 Republican advantage."
Mr. Gizzi added: "By all virtually all accounts, the two issues that made this stunning upset possible were higher taxes and a rising crime rate."
And what are the two main issues, TAXES and CRIME.

Come on , your pulling my leg. Taxes aren't so high. We only has one break in the last two weeks or so.

Thanksgiving

I sit here today to give thanks for all I have.

For two great sons ,
for one great daughter,
for a great son in law,
for a great grandson,
for my great mother that brought me into this world,
to my beautiful and great wife who puts up with me ,

"honey what would I ever do without you".

Update 6:00 am - cannot forget all our good friends and neighbors.

and to my Lord and Creator.

We all have so much to be thankful for.

Please think about and pray for the less fortunate , the poor, the lonely.

There was a time in 1984 when I had no family for thanksgiving day, going through a divorce made it one of the loneliest days in my life. I ask you let no one have that kind of a day.

Please share your day with people you love, with people you can help or people that could just use a helping hand.

We give thanks to you Lord for all we have.

The Real Thankgiving

Thanks to Rush for our annual reality check for Thanksgiving.

“On August 1, 1620, the Mayflower set sail. It carried a total of 102 passengers, including forty Pilgrims led by William Bradford. On the journey, Bradford set up an agreement, a contract, that established just and equal laws for all members of the new community, irrespective of their religious beliefs. Where did the revolutionary ideas expressed in the Mayflower Compact come from? From the Bible,” and this is what’s not taught. This is what’s left out. “The Pilgrims were a people completely steeped in the lessons of the Old and New Testaments. They looked to the ancient Israelites for their example. And, because of the biblical precedents set forth in Scripture, they never doubted that their experiment would work. But this was no pleasure cruise, friends. The journey to the New World was a long and arduous one. And when the Pilgrims landed in New England in November, they found, according to Bradford’s detailed journal, a cold, barren, desolate wilderness. There were no friends to greet them, he wrote. There were no houses to shelter them. There were no inns where they could refresh themselves. And the sacrifice they had made for freedom was just beginning. During the first winter, half the Pilgrims — including Bradford’s own wife — died of either starvation, sickness, or exposure.

“When spring finally came, Indians taught the settlers how to plant corn, fish for cod and skin beavers for coats. Life improved for the Pilgrims, but they did not yet prosper! This is important to understand because this is where modern American history lessons often end. Thanksgiving is actually explained in some textbooks as a holiday for which the Pilgrims gave thanks to the Indians for saving their lives, rather than as a devout expression of gratitude grounded in the tradition of both the Old and New Testaments. Here is the part that has been omitted: The original contract the Pilgrims had entered into with their merchant-sponsors in London called for everything they produced to go into a common store, and each member of the community was entitled to one common share. All of the land they cleared and the houses they built belong to the community as well.” They were collectivists! Now, “Bradford, who had become the new governor of the colony, recognized that this form of collectivism was as costly and destructive to the Pilgrims as that first harsh winter, which had taken so many lives.

“He decided to take bold action. Bradford assigned a plot of land to each family to work and manage, thus turning loose the power of the marketplace. … Long before Karl Marx was even born, the Pilgrims had discovered and experimented with what could only be described as socialism. And what happened? It didn’t work! Surprise, surprise, huh? What Bradford and his community found was that the most creative and industrious people had no incentive to work any harder than anyone else, unless they could utilize the power of personal motivation! But while most of the rest of the world has been experimenting with socialism for well over a hundred years — trying to refine it, perfect it, and re-invent it — the Pilgrims decided early on to scrap it permanently. What Bradford wrote about this social experiment should be in every schoolchild’s history lesson,” every kid gets. “If it were, we might prevent much needless suffering in the future.” Here’s what he wrote: “‘The experience that we had in this common course and condition, tried sundry years…that by taking away property, and bringing community into a common wealth, would make them happy and flourishing — as if they were wiser than God,’ Bradford wrote.

“‘For this community [so far as it was] was found to breed much confusion and discontent, and retard much employment that would have been to their benefit and comfort. For young men that were most able and fit for labor and service did repine that they should spend their time and strength to work for other men’s wives and children without any recompense…that was thought injustice.’” That was thought injustice. “Do you hear what he was saying, ladies and gentlemen? The Pilgrims found that people could not be expected to do their best work without incentive. So what did Bradford’s community try next? They unharnessed the power of good old free enterprise by invoking the undergirding capitalistic principle of private property. Every family was assigned its own plot of land to work and permitted to market its own crops and products. And what was the result?” ‘This had very good success,’ wrote Bradford, “for it made all hands industrious, so as much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been.” Bradford doesn’t sound like much of a Clintonite, does he? Is it possible that supply-side economics could have existed before the 1980s? … In no time, the Pilgrims found they had more food than they could eat themselves. … So they set up trading posts and exchanged goods with the Indians.

“The profits allowed them to pay off their debts to the merchants in London. And the success and prosperity of the Plymouth settlement attracted more Europeans and began what came to be known as the ‘Great Puritan Migration.’”

Layoffs Dip, Good Sign for Labor Market

Fewer People Sign Up for Jobless Benefits, Good Sign Labor Market Remains Strong
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Fewer people signed up for jobless benefits last week, an encouraging sign that most companies aren't resorting to large-scale layoffs as the country copes with continuing problems in the housing and credit markets.

The Labor Department reported Wednesday that new applications filed for unemployment insurance dropped by a seasonally adjusted 11,000 to 330,000 for the week ending Nov. 17. It was the lowest level since the beginning of November. The 330,000 level of claims was in line with economists' forecasts.
A year ago, new claims for unemployment insurance stood at 322,000.

Is this guy on something?
"We continue to believe that most statistical and anecdotal evidence continue to point to a relatively healthy labor market," said Omair Sharif, an economist at RBS Greenwich Capital.

I understand gas is high but when will people wake up and realize that the economy is still doing well. How can the lib's say the economy is crap.

Hillary Ring Tone

Funny how the spaniards are buying up their kings ringtone.

'Shut up Chavez' is ringtone hit
Nov 21 12:31 AM US/Eastern

Many Spaniards were so amused when their king told Venezuela's president to "shut up" that they want to hear the words every time their phone rings.About half a million people have downloaded a mobile phone ringtone featuring the phrase "Por que no te callas?" or "Why don't you shut up?". That's what King Juan Carlos told Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez during a heated confrontation at a summit in Chile last week.T-shirts and mugs featuring the words are also becoming a profitable business, and videos of the confrontation have been a hit on the YouTube website. © Copyright Press Association Ltd 2007, All Rights Reserved.

The season's first hailstorm was a blessing in disguise for cluster bomb-infested parts of southern Lebanon - setting off a series of blasts from previously unexploded bomblets. After a long dry spell across Lebanon, hailstones as big as walnuts hit the south's villages and struck undiscovered bomblets scattered across the landscape, causing a string of blasts.Dalya Farran, a spokeswoman for the United Nations Mine Action Coordination Centre (MACC) confirmed that "many cluster bombs" exploded when they were hit by hailstones in villages near the town of Marjayoun. There Has Got To Be More

There has to be more on the following article. It just does not make sense!

From the Monday Appleton Post Cres.

Shooting death mars otherwise safe deer hunt
Opening weekend’s deer harvest up 4,000 from a year ago
By John Lee Post-Crescent staff writer
Hunters opened the nine-day gun deer season last weekend with a harvest of 171,584 deer, an increase of 4,011 over last year’s first two days, the state Department of Natural Resources reported Monday.

More importantly, DNR officials said, the opening weekend was the safest on record, with just one reported accidental shooting. That came in Waushara County, where an 18-year-old hunter was shot by his grandfather, and died after being flown from the hunting scene at Saxeville in the northwestern part of the county to Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah.

This is the part I do not get, a brown and white blanket.
Waushara County Sheriff David Peterson said David Ruck was wearing blaze orange clothing, but had wrapped himself in a brown and white blanket and was walking through a wooded area when he was shot about 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

You have to feel bad for the grandfather.

It is always good to remind all hunters of safety before going out to the woods!

Who Would of Thought, Amazing

Interesting article from the Journal Online.

Headline- Michael J Fox Apologizes- No not really , just thought he could be a man and apologize!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stem cell breakthrough
UW, Japanese scientists alter skin cells, could end embryo controversy

Wait, I thought Embryonic stem cell research was our only hope!
Remember Diamond Jim Doyle had his spokesmen Mikey J Fox!
That evil Mark Green was against Stem Cell (embryonic) research!
Where is Diamond Jim on this?

By JOHN FAUBERjfauber@journalsentinel.com
Posted: Nov. 21, 2007
By genetically manipulating human skin cells, scientists at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a separate team in Japan were able to reprogram those cells to act like embryonic stem cells without using human embryos.

If these new cells truly have all the beneficial qualities of embryonic stem cells without hidden hazards, it could pave the way to therapies that do not raise the moral concerns associated with the destruction of embryos or therapeutic cloning. At the same time, the new approach could avoid problems of immune rejection because the cells could be matched to the DNA of the patient.

Huh!!!!!!!!

"If perfected, there will no longer be any need for human eggs, or any of the controversy associated with destroying embryos."

Does this mean we do not have to spend the money in Madison Diamond Jim is spending on embryonic stem cells.
Does this mean Mark Green was not an evil man.
Will Mr Fox apologize to Mr Green and the people of Wisconsin?
Highly unlikely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ever since Thomson first isolated human embryonic stem cells in 1998, it has been hoped that the breakthrough would lead to new cell-replacement therapies to treat intractable diseases such as Parkinson's, diabetes and heart disease. At the very least, embryonic stem cell research is hoped to be a way to better understand diseases or as a method to test new drugs.
You mean this guy has been working on this since 1998, come on, you are pulling my leg!!!!!!

One human embryo saved is another life not destroyed by the loony left.

Wow, That Was Close

From Gannett Newspapers through the Green Bay Press

Nov 17, 10:39 PM EST
Wayward bullet from hunter narrowly misses boy, 14, in parked car
SHIOCTON, Wis. (AP) -- A wayward bullet from a deer hunter's gun sliced through the windshield of a parked car and shattered the rear window Saturday morning, nearly missing the head of a 14-year-old boy sitting in the front seat.

"I looked down and there was glass everywhere," said Jay Blink of Oshkosh. "If I would have leaned like 12 inches I probably wouldn't be here."

Wow, this boy is lucky!

Blink said he was sitting in the passenger seat with his head on the window as he played games on his cell phone.

Cell phones are sure good for more than talking.

"I haven't taken a hunter's safety course but I know you don't shoot towards the street or over the street," said Blink, who plans to take a course next year.
He added that the unknown shooter ought to take the safety course again.

I think the rest of the story will come out as time goes, Someone knows who's made the shoot. Did the dnr check the boys father and uncle's gun to see if they were fired?
The Lord was watching out for this young man.
I bet he goes to church today.
