WGBA -Kagen Opposed Real Tax Relief for Struggling Wisconsin Families
Yesterday, Rep. Steve Kagan (D-WI) did not live up to his campaign promises for fiscal responsibility when he voted against tax breaks for working families and small businesses (House Roll Call 44). Instead, he supported the Democrats' so-called "stimulus" plan, which will cost the constituents in Kagen's district $1,921,617,346.
Kagen voted against reducing tax rates for 490,214 of his constituents in Wisconsin
Kagen voted against a 20% tax cut for 439,190 small employers in Wisconsin
The Wall Street Journal editorial board put Kagen's choice for the Democrat "stimulus" bill into perspective:
"This is supposed to be a new era of bipartisanship, but this bill was written based on the wish list of every living -- or dead -- Democratic interest group." (Wall Street Journal Editorial, 1/28/09)
