OOPS, Niagara New Page Mill

From the Peshtigo Times.
"MCIDC Asked To Fund Forest Resource Study
A national wire service article published on Tuesday, Jan. 27 incorrectly reported that Niagara has obtained a federal grant to study the possibility of turning the former paper mill into a wood fiber-based ethanol plant, Marinette County Industrial Development Corporation (MCIDC) Administrator Don Clewley commented informally during an MCIDC Board of Directors meeting at 4 p.m. that afternoon.

Clewley said as soon as the article came out he was contacted by “four television stations, three radio stations and several newspapers” for more information. “There’s no truth to it,” he declared. He felt the report appeared to be a follow-up to local news articles that someone misinterpreted.

Now who in the MSM would jump the gun and assume something that was not true. It is good to see Marinette County looking at ways to do something for the people of the Niagara and Iron Mountain area workers that lost their jobs.

Side note.

Did Steve Kagen get money (from the 819 billion stimulus) for the mill? For the laid off workers? For the area in general to create jobs? As Kagen said, he is spending money to rebuild schools in the Fox Valley. What happen to the people of Northern Wisconsin. For those that voted for Kagen, he forgot you already.

That is what happens when a politician promises everything to everybody, it ends up being meaningless. I am running against Kagen in 2010. We must stop trying to solve our country's debt problem by creating more debt. Congress must begin the process of getting our economic house in order, or everything the government does will be in jeopardy. This is as much a national security issue as it is an economic one. No country can survive long if it is bankrupt. check out www.savardforcongress.com

Marc, thanks for the comment.

Yea all politicians make promises but what will they do to correct the problems. Is is more gov. intervention? higher taxes and user fee's? Free health care? SS? How can you get our house in order when more and more are on the dole?

Good luck to you in your race.
