Gary Tauchen, Wisconsin Budget Problems.

From the Shawano Leader. Comments about the states economy from our areas state rep. As you might not know, I am not fond of Representative Tauchen.

"State Rep. Gary Tauchen (R-Bonduel) agreed with the governor on the need to create jobs in the state.

“The situation with jobs is really critical and I think he hit that spot on, and we need to work in a bipartisan way to try to get our state going again,” Tauchen said, adding he has talked with economists who have said state unemployment could reach 9 percent by the end of the year.

“We need to try to do things differently. We need to restructure. Hopefully this challenge will give us the opportunity to do that. Over the long haul, it will hopefully bring a lot of positives,” he said.

But Tauchen cited at least one budgetary issue that remains a point of concern — the so-called “raiding” of segregated funds.

“Over the last three sessions, and both parties have been responsible for this, the governors have used segregated funds as a tool to balance the budget. It’s become standard practice; they call them raids,” Tauchen said.

Tauchen has a bill calling for a constitutional amendment to prevent raiding of segregated funds.

“The only way we can stop that practice is to have a constitutional amendment to stop that practice from happening,” he said.
" Shawano Leader

Can someone on Gary Tauchen's staff give him some positive talking points before he talks to the press.

First what does restructure mean?

What is this bipartisan dribble? What, is Mr. Tauchen partying with Jim Doyle? Your not there to get along. You were elected to serve your voters and not join the left!

"I agree with the governor." What did he say? Jim Doyle is chasing jobs and businesses from Wisconsin. If Gary is or was a farmer he ran a business, did he forget his roots? Sorry, I forgot most of us don't get big tax breaks, subsidies and price supports.

Take the burden off businesses and let the economy sky rocket.

"Hopefully bring a lot of positives." What does that mean?

O K, good idea about raiding the funds but, will the dems let Tauchen bring his bill for a vote? Gary, your in the minority. Will never happen. That will sound good for your reelection.

Where is talk of overspending in this state? What about tax cuts? How about tax breaks for businesses! No don't bring up ethanol!

Will Mr Tauchen bring positives to our state by raising taxes and user fee's for the sake of bipartisanship?

I question if Mr Tauchen is really a republican. First, he worked in the Clinton administration. Second he probably ran in this area as a republican because of the strong republican base. Third, why bring up this bipartisanship crap. This is our state and we want less government, less taxes, less user fees, less of Madison. Fourth, if Gary Tauchen fights for the ethanol industry, he is no friend for the people of his district. If Gary Tauchen is for what is right, take the ethanol mandates out. Let ethanol sell on it's own merits! Prove that ethanol is worth it. What is Mr. Tauchen getting from the ethanol industry? Take off the mandates!

The dems own both houses and Diamond Jim. If they want to pass tax increases or user fees they can do it without republican help. If Gary Tauchen votes for any tax increases for the sake of getting along or there is nothing else we can do comment, well then, I proved my point.

No one in this district see's what Gary Tauchen really is. If he sells his soul to the left or for the ethanol industry he might as well switch parties and quite fooling his constituents.

With the budget deficits this year, how will Gary Tauchen vote. Will he be conservative, be a RINO or show his true colors as a democrat. He will have a voting record for all to see. Which way will he vote?
