M Marine Contract Goes to Senate, Where's Feingold

The first hurdle to get the contract at Marinette Marine.
From WTAQ.
MARINETTE, Wis. (WTAQ) - A victory for Marinette Marine, but the battle's not over just yet.

Wednesday night, the U.S. House narrowly passed a bill that calls for 10 of the company's Littoral Combat Ships to be built for the Navy.

"It'll mean an infusion of nearly $5 billion into our local economy and thousands and thousands of jobs," Rep. Steve Kagen (D-Appleton) said. "Now we need the Senate to follow through what we did in the House and I'm counting on (Sen.) Herb Kohl to get the job done."

Kagen is keeping his fingers crossed that the Senate can vote by the end of next week. Then the President needs to sign it, and the Navy would take it from there.

So why is Steve Kagen crossing his fingers? There are 59 democratic senators. They don't need any republicans.

Second, why did Kagen single out Kohl to help pass the bill? Only "Kohl can get the job done?" Where is Russs Feingolds name to help pass this. Is Feingold voting no on this bill? Why only Kohl?

Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmm
