Wis. DNR asks hunters to turn in wildlife data
The state Department of Natural Resources is again reminding deer hunters to file wildlife observations online.
The DNR asks that bow hunters and hunters scouting for the upcoming gun season to send in information on deer, raccoon, skunks, porcupine, foxes, turkey, grouse and a host of other creatures they might see, including photos from trail cameras.
The DNR started soliciting information last year. The agency uses the data to identify wildlife population trends and urges hunters to report even if they see no deer or wildlife.
Hunters can enter their data at http://dnr.wi.gov/org/land/wildlife/harvest/survey.htm.
