I See A Line In The Sand

From the Green Bay Press.
MADISON — The head of the state employees union says if Wisconsin Gov.-elect Scott Walker wants a fight, "we are not afraid to fight."

Wisconsin State Employees Union executive director Marty Beil issued a response Friday to Walker's call for state employees to immediately halt negotiating a new contract until Walker takes over on Jan. 3.

Beil said Walker's request shows a disregard for laws governing labor relations.

He said trying to "blow up" the negotiating process sends an "extremely hostile message to state workers."

Walker spokesman Cullen Werwie said Walker wants to ensure all options are available as he works on balancing the next budget. He called Walker's request reasonable.

Beil said state employees are ready to work with Walker, but "If he wants to fight, we are not afraid to fight."

The state is broke and everyone and everything concerning Wisconsin should be on the table.

GO SCOTT WALKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Side note, if the state workers or teachers think they will go on strike, the should think twice. There are a lot of people out of work that would jump at the chance for a temp job throughout the state. Walker should start a web site to get a list together ahead of time, you know, a scab list. There are too many people out of work who wouldn't think twice about working for the state. Even if it's temporary. Who knows maybe it will turn into permanent jobs.
