Finally, Wis. HWY 47 Opens

For God's sake, how long have they been screwing around with this road for the past two years.

From the Shawano Leader

Highway 47 south of Bonduel to open Friday

Highway 47 between Bonduel and Black Creek will open by noon Friday, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

Constructions crews resurfaced the highway with asphalt, constructed northbound and southbound passing lanes, replaced culverts, flattened shoulder slopes, and reconstructed the intersection of Outagamie County VV and Highway 156.

Work began on the stretch of highway between Highway 29 at the south edge of Bonduel and Willow Street in Black Creek last spring.

However, more work is ahead. Resurfacing of Highway 47 Black Creek to Highway 29 at Bonduel with asphalt will begin in spring 2011. The highway will remain open to through traffic during this stage of the project, which is scheduled for completion in June 2011.

Just in time for deer hunters from the south. Yet they are still not done till next year! Good bye Diamond Jim Doyle and hello Scott walker.
