U P Deer Season Starts Monday

From the Escanaba Daily Press

ESCANABA - The 2010 firearm deer season starts Monday, and hunters are getting ready to head to the woods.

A look at the typical hunter.

Rod Stende, general manager of Elmer's County Market, said it is fun watching hunters come in to purchase supplies for deer camp.

"These are men on a mission," said Stende. "We don't see them using any coupons or watching sales fliers. They know what they want, and they come and buy it, and usually a lot of it."

Coupons, who needs any stinken coupons.

Catch that, in the U P they call it camp.

Just in case you are bored, Go for it, Da Yoopers.

Good luck and be safe to our hunters to the north.

Took my annual "out of state landowners anterless deer permit" doe last night and I was back in Wisconsin today. Nice to get to my UP camp for three days of hunting.

I still have a buck tag left for the Wisconsin hunt :)

Nice job Dale.

Good luck in Wisconsin. I'm in a buck only zone.

Have a safe and successful hunt.
