Washington – The House voted Tuesday to rebuke Rep. Joe Wilson for calling President Barack Obama a liar during the president’s health care speech to Congress last week.

The 240-179 vote on a resolution expressing disapproval over the outburst was largely along party lines. Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Milwaukee) was among only 12 Democrats who voted against the resolution. Rep. Tom Petri (R-Fond du Lac) was among the seven Republicans who voted to admonish Wilson.

House leaders agreed to offer a resolution on the House floor after Wilson refused to publicly apologize for shouting “You lie” during Obama’s speech. House Democrats said Wilson had broken congressional rules of civility and decorum during a joint session. Republican leaders called the vote a “witchhunt.”

Moore said through a spokeswoman that she voted against the resolution because she wanted to keep her “eyes on the prize,” referring to health care reform efforts.

Other members of Wisconsin’s congressional delegation voted with their party on the issue. Here’s how they voted:

Reps. Tammy Baldwin (D-Madison), Steve Kagen (D-Appleton), Ron Kind (D-La Crosse), David Obey (D-Wausau) and Petri supported the resolution.

Reps. Paul Ryan (R-Janesville), Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Menomonee Falls) and Moore opposed the measure." Moore, Petri break cross party lines on Joe Wilson rebuke - JSOnline

Is somebody going to ask Tom about this vote?
