GLENMORE — The Town Board on Monday renewed a conditional use permit for a Suamico developer for a seven-turbine wind project.

The town had approved a two-year permit for Thomas Mattson of Prelude LLC to establish his project, Town Clerk Lana Ossmann said.

"It's all in the same place," Mattson said. "All it was is a renewal of the permit."

He said he plans to erect seven turbines near Morrison and School roads.

With wind developers' interest in setting up in Glenmore, including Mattson and another company, the town adopted an ordinance regulating wind projects in 2006 and then tweaked that ordinance in 2007.

The state Senate on Tuesday took a step toward creating statewide standards for wind farms.

Developers say the local rules are so strict they can barely do business. Local officials say they base their restrictions on scientific data.

The Democratic measure calls for the state Public Service Commission to draw up standards such as setbacks, noise limits and height restrictions for wind farms that produce less than 100 megawatts.

The Democratic-controlled Senate approved the bill 23-9 Tuesday. Sens. Rob Cowles, R-Allouez, and Dave Hansen, D-Green Bay, voted for the bill. Sen. Alan Lasee, R-Rockland, voted against it.

It now goes to the state Assembly."

Answer, they multiply, there a pain, you may never get rid of them and only environmentalists wacko's like them both. You start with 7, you then get 14,28,56,112 and who knows how many.

Like I said, try to get rid of them and it's dog gone impossible. The above picture could be the shore line of Green Bay if this nonsense doesn't stop. Wind mills from Green Bay to Mainette. I am surprised Cowles voted for this. Hope he's not going RINO? Sure looks like it.
