A Message from Russ...
Dear Wisconsin Progressive,As the Democratic
Presidential contest continues to chug along throughout our country, it’s important to remember that whoever our nominee and eventual Democratic President is come January 2009, he or she is going to need a Democratic Congress to work with to get our country back on track.

And while much of the talk has been about building on our gains in Congress this election cycle, we cannot forget about the strong Democrats who were elected last time and who now face stiff challenges this November. Here in Wisconsin we need not look any further than Congressman Steve Kagen in the 8th CD.

Since coming to Congress, Congressman Kagen has been a leader on a variety of issues - including advancing our combined effort of making universal access to affordable health care a top priority.

He’s refused to cave in to the Bush administration’s fear-mongering tactics by not immediately passing a flawed extension of the so-called "Protect America Act" – legislation that would weaken privacy protections for American citizens and provide retroactive immunity to telecom companies. In fact, a phony issue group has run television ads that accuse Congress Kagen and other freshman Democrats of being weak on national security issues–when nothing could be further from the truth.

It’s up to all Democrats in the 8th CD and across the state of Wisconsin to stand and fight for Steve Kagen leading up to this election. I’m going to continue to fight to keep him Congress and I hope you will join me. For more information, or to join our effort to support Congressman Steve Kagen, please contact the Kagen campaign at 800-255-9355 or
brad@kagen4congress.com.

With high hopes,

Russ Feingold
United States Senatorwww.russfeingold.org

Why would Russ have to go all the way to Wood County to give Dr. Kagen an "at a boy" Is Steve a little worried and his buddy Russ has to bail him out? Interesting! Steve will need a lot of help this coming election. With his record, it looks like he needs some help, even from outside his own district.

There must be more to this story than we may know. Time will tell. Stay tuned.

Maybe my buddies Anoumonous or The Blue Revolution can help me out on this.

It's time to quit playing with the clock
By Al Neuharth
Monday morning, March 3, our six school children (ages 7-16) started their day bright. They woke up to a brilliant sunrise that made them beam, had a good breakfast (even brushed their teeth) and went off to school as wide-awake go-getters.

Really?

Morning people — including farmers, city folks with early jobs, parents of school-age children — all oppose it. But lobbyists for the night crowd have cowed Congress.

Huh,

DST is distressing, dangerous and a dollar drain. It should be dumped.

Really, here is someone else chiming in on DST. ?

"We understand the need to conserve energy, but it should be balanced against children's safety. We remain concerned that the extension into March may increase the danger of traveling to school in dark hours." — Jan Harp Domene, National PTA president

You can't win, these green wienie's don't know what they want. They probably drive a Toyota Prius and chain themselves to trees! But change DST and "boo hoo, you can't do that." What in the Gods green earth do around Dec 22? Da, I give up!

GET OVER IT!

We love you libs.

Editorial: Doyle's plan robs Peter to pay Paul
It's very interesting that Gov. Jim Doyle's "budget repair plan" transfers $243 million from the state's transportation fund, which is the pile of money replenished by the gasoline tax.

You might recall that's the fund that didn't have enough cash to take care of all our road needs, and so Doyle last year proposed an "assessment" on big
oil company revenues to cover the difference.
Now, the state is headed toward a budget deficit that could amount to $650 million by mid-2009. And the fund that needed a new tax to prop it up is suddenly so flush that the governor says it can be raided to help fix the deficit.

As many suspected, it's now clear the oil revenues tax was not about building roads and bridges;it was about creating another revenue stream to pay for everything else the state wants to do.
With a straight face, Doyle claims his budget repair bill doesn't require a tax increase, and then he hauls
out a 0.7 percent "assessment" on hospital revenues. (Isn't going from zero to 0.7 percent an "increase"? Just asking.) The new, um, assessment will bring in $700 million in federal revenue over the biennium, the governor says.

Quick quiz: Where will the federal government get the $700 million? If you answered, "the people of Wisconsin and 49 other states, or their children and grandchildren through borrowing," go to the head of the class.

The governor knows that some people, like us, will say the way to bring the budget under control is to cut spending, and so he points out that he has ordered $330.4 million in spending cuts at state agencies. But wait — "this includes $200 million in cuts that state agencies were required to make under the 2007-09 biennial budget signed in October."

The $130.4 million in new spending cuts represents roughly one quarter of the $527 million package the governor introduced Monday. Three parts taxes or robbing Peter to pay Paul, one part spending cuts.

Oh, and he'd like the Legislature to start working on it before they leave town Thursday, on top of all the other unfinished business, some of which we listed Tuesday — the Great Lakes Compact, endangered online public schools, smoke-free workplaces, etc.

Maybe people have asked the state government to do more than it, or we, can afford. Maybe the time has come either to jack up our already-confiscatory taxes to pay for all the state services we want. Maybe it's time to take a serious look at which state services can be reduced or eliminated.
But Doyle isn't saying that. Instead he issues a news release that says, "The plan provides for sufficient funding of essential state and local services — education, health care and creating jobs — without raising taxes ..."

Novelist Robert A. Heinlein famously stated the principle of TANSTAAFL:
"There ain't no such thing as a free lunch." By saying his budget repair bill does not raise taxes, Doyle demonstrates either that he doesn't understand TANSTAAFL or he hopes you don't.
Will the P G hold Diamond Jim's feet to the fire, highly unlikely.

You see, once again you have proven your lack of credibility and inability to put forth any amount of effort to research before you post. Kagen's allergy clinics are a business, which he does not own. Yet Steve Kagen the man is still a doctor. Doctor refers to the degree he has. When he ran for Congress, he didn't burn his medical degree, nor did he
contact the University of Wisconsin and ask them to destroy all records of his education...at least I would assume he didn't.

By your logic, any MD that works for an HMO or any other business that he or she does not own is not a doctor. Instead of focusing on Kagen so much, maybe you should be out there exposing all these quacks for misrepresenting themselves.

It's time for someone to start doing their homework.

The "Iron Lady"

From Bloomberg News

Margaret Thatcher Scheduled to Leave Hospital After Tests
By Hamish Risk
March 8 (Bloomberg) -- Former U.K. Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was scheduled to leave a London hospital today after falling ill at a House of Lords dinner yesterday and undergoing medical tests, her spokesman Mark Worthington said.

Thatcher helped end the Cold War and was known as the ``Iron Lady'' for her dominance of British politics during the 1980s. She led the Conservative Party from 1975 to 1990, and was prime minister from 1979 to 1990..

We wish Lady Thatcher a speedy recovery. What a GREAT and GRAND lady. I need to make some comments which relate to Lady Thatcher and our political spotlight in the United States

With all our election talk , "can Hillary be president", "we have to vote for Hillary, she's a women", "you just don't want a women president"! "You have to vote for Obama, he would be our first African American President"! "Are you a racist"? How small and simple minded the left and young voters are.

We vote for president every four years to put in place someone to serve and protect the citizens of this great country.

If Hillary was like Margret Thatcher, or like Condi Rice. I would have no problem voting for her. J. C. Watts Jr., when will you run for president?

The bar is set very high on my expectations for president. I see no gender, I see no color, I see no special religion, I only see someone who will advance my ideas. At times, todays elections may be a struggle but as Ronald Reagen said;

The ultimate determinant in the struggle now going on for the world will not be bombs and rockets but a test of wills and ideas-a trial of spiritual resolve:
the values we hold, the beliefs we cherish and the ideals to which we are dedicated. Ronald Reagan 40th president of US (1911 - 2004)

Gender, race, religion or political affiliation should have no bearing on who we elect. We elect the best person to lead this GREAT country.

Lady Thatcher and Ronald Reagan, what great leaders.

Get well Mrs. Thatcher.

Don't you people have better things to do?
Resist in March

March 19 marks the 5th Anniversary of the invasion and occupation of Iraq. Peace and justice organizations will hold actions around the country and in Washington, DC to demand an end to the funding of the occupation, along with the impeachment of the president and vice president who launched it. For the full range of activities, see http://resistinmarch.org/

Come on, your pulling my leg, your going to impeach the president and vice president. Pssst, don't tell anyone but there gone by January. I won't tell anyone if you don't.

The timing of these efforts could not be better, with Congress considering another $105 billion for the occupation of Iraq, with Nobel laureate Joseph
Stiglitz putting the true costs of the occupation over $3 trillion, and with awareness growing that Congress can simply stop voting on additional funds. Here's what we want our Representatives to do: ttp://www.afterdowningstreet.org/node/31397

Oh, I could almost pe my pants, a nobel laureate ran the numbers. He must really be a smart guy. Youser!

In Thirty Years

Heres my prediction.

In 30 YEARS Britney Farve will have a son and he will take the Green Bay Packers to the next Super Bowl in 2038

There will never be another.

To my two sons, I hope in your life time you will have a hero like ours Brett Farve.

The Next Super Bowl

As I was talking to my boys last night, Brett Favre's name came up. My older son said he wished Brett would retire. It's OK, he young and a Rogers fan. Well it happened today.

As we discussed his Rogers rant I told them if Brett retires you will wait, maybe if your lucky, you will wait 25 to 30 years before Green Bay comes back to glory.

Thats 2033 or 2038 and I will be 70 to 80 years old.

A LEGEND

Something you cannot put into any words.
Speechless and Priceless!
He made us all feel like a kid again.
Thanks for the memories.
Green Bay will never be the same.

Thank you Brett, we will never forget you in Wisconsin.

Bart Stupak, D-Mich., Steve Kagen, D-Wis., and Thomas Petri, R-Wis. People on both sides of the border have been hoping that NewPage, one of the nation's largest papermakers, would agree to sell the mill to a non-competing company. The meeting in Washington, D.C.,was a virtualwho's who for state and congressional leaders from Wisconsin and Michigan. Along with Stupak,Kagen and Petri, the roster included NewPage chairman and CEO Mark Suwyn, Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle, and U.S. Sens. Despite snow, frigid weather, heating costs are about normal WPS spokesman says winter has been abnormally normal
By
Richard Ryman rryman@greenbaypressgazette.com
Heat this winter will cost about as much as expected. "Based on normal temperatures, the price is pretty close to what we estimated when winter began," said Kerry Spees, spokesman for Wisconsin Public Service Corp.

Spees said the typical customer using 900 therms of natural gas annually will pay $742. That compares with about $740 last year and $830 for the 2005-2006 heating season, when natural gas prices were significantly higher.

I thought the sky is falling! I thought everyone spent all their money on heating costs. I thought this was the highest heating costs ever! What happened in 2005 - 2006?

Shanties Off

Posted March 1, 2008
From the Appleton Post Crescent
Deadline looms to get shanties off the ice
Removal requirement means end of winter in sight
The Post-Crescent
Permanent ice shelters must be removed from Lake Winnebago and other inland waters by Sunday night, according to state Department of Natural Resources rules.

Previously, anglers fishing on waters south of State 64 had until March 5 to remove permanent shelters.

Under the new rules, anglers have until the first Sunday after March 1 to remove the shelters.

Failure to remove a shanty or ice fishing shelter by the deadline could result in a forfeiture of $248.60.

Quite a few permanent shelters remain on Lake Winnebago and getting them of the ice could pose a problem, said Dale Frank, president of the Paynes Point Hook & Spear Fishing Club in Neenah.

"Some shacks are quite a ways out. I don't know how the owners are going to get them off. The snow is so bad and there is slush under the snow," Frank said.

Frank said the lake ice has numerous fractures.

"We'll do our level best to help get the remaining shelters off the ice, but there are places on the lake we just can't go anymore," Frank said.

After the date for removing ice fishing shelters from a frozen lake of river, anglers still can use portable shelters, but must remove them when they are not occupied or actively being used.

If the shelter breaks through the ice, it must be recovered under DNR rules. That process could add to the forfeiture costs.

The DNR said it would attempt to contact owners of shanties left on lakes and rivers after Sunday to get them off the ice. Those who own shanties are required to have their name and address on it.

State hides results of Internet tax
In December, as the state was about
to enact a $1 per pack increase in the cigarette tax, The Associated Press wanted to find out about efforts by the state to collect taxes on Internet cigarette sales, but it was rebuffed by the Department of Revenue.

So it's incredulous to hear state officials say Wisconsinites don't have a right to know how vigorously, or not, laws are being enforced. "Spectacularly lame," indeed.

"Spectacularly lame" was how Bill Lueders, president of the Wisconsin Freedom of Information Council, characterized the logic being offered by these state officials. "Just because the Department of Revenue is embarrassed that it's doing so little is not reason to hide that fact from the public."

What will happen if the state passes a no smoking law (except casino's). Will they look the other way for a couple years while people smoke in the bar? Where's the Tavern League? If you pass a law than enforce the law!

To My Buddy "The Blue Revolution"

It's so nice I get comments on some of my posts. One comment left from a young person. I am assumming that they are young is that they did not leave any information on who they are, where they are from or could not even post a logical comment. Only thing I know is they call themselves "The Blue Revolution" Huh, now I had to find out what kind of person this could be.

From World Wide Words
Some slight evidence suggests blue is joining green as an environmental buzzword. The blue revolution is the water equivalent of the green revolution and primarily refers to the need to get water for drinking and crop irrigation to the many millions of people worldwide who do not have it. The phrase has been used for some years, but it came to notice particularly in press reports of the recent Third World Water Forum in Tokyo. The institute hopes the “green revolution” in crop productivity will soon be matched by the “blue revolution” in raising water productivity in agriculture. [Africa News Service, Aug. 2002]

Holy cow, I might have a greenie wienie from another country, How quaint.

From Wikipedia- Color revolutions or Flower revolutions are the names given collectively to a series of related movements that developed in post-communist societies in Central and Eastern Europe, and Central Asia. Some observers have called the events a revolutionary wave.

"Blue Revolution" was a term used by some Kuwaitis [1] to refer to demonstrations
in
Kuwait in support of women's suffrage beginning in March of 2005; it was named after the color of the signs the protesters used. In May of that year the Kuwaiti government acceded to their demands, granting women the right to vote beginning in the 2007 parliamentary elections. [2] Since there was no call for regime change, this cannot be categorized as a true color revolution.

I am honnored, this young person could be from the middle East, ( Welcome to Wisconsin, can I get you a beer and some chicken booyah) Sorry, you can't be of legal drinking age yet.? Also could be of female persuasion and is in bondage to some right wing zealot. My God miss, are you O K?

So I sign up as a independent on the dem website and can't find anything on blue revolution from Wisconsin. The only thing I find is "THERE EATING THEIR OWN" The poor devils are turning to canibalism and taking out poor Ron Kind.

Link - Rep. Ron Kind betrayed the voters and troops of Wisconsin's 3rd Congressional District by voting to continue George Bush's disastrous Iraq War forever. Democrats.com is looking for an "aggressive progressive" Democrat who will challenge Kind in a Democratic primary in 2008.

So I will have to go out on a limb and say that the person called "The Blue Revolution" is a eleven year old advanced green colored environmentalist fisherwoman from Asia, Europe or the kremlin of the west (Madison Wis). My First Kagen Visit

I thought I would post this since it seems Dr. K., our Wisconsin's 8th District Congressman might be under a microscope in the future. Got to see our man in Green Bay. This is the long version of my day with our good Doctor.

Date - Thursday Feb. 21, 2008
Place -Titletown Brewery in Green Bay.
Purpose - Brown County Taxpayers Association
Guest Speaker - Steve Kagen
Host Richard Parins - Good guy asks a lot of tough questions. Is passionate about taxpayers money.

Wow everybody, I got to see Dr K , what a guy, ahhhhhhh, I'll leave it at that! My first impression, he looked like another ultra lib, Robert Redford, and I wasn't even drinking! I took some written notes. A friend of mine was right, I need to get a digital recorder. To be accurate with this politition will be difficult. Need to catch him on tape. I will be up front with all of you. Going to these kind of functions is new to me and I am in a learning curve on active politics. Had the chance to ask some questions a good friend helped me with. I submitted two and got them asked.

1) Should all earmarks be given transparency by identifying the earmark sponsored and do you support minority leader John Boehner's reform measures, House Resolution 479 and HR 559.

His quote, "Definitely", I ran by standing by your pork" to first part. Yep. that's what he said. Named earmarks he has brought into northeastern Wis,. Second part never answered. I understand earmarks, but this guy is really in campaign mode. Taking credit for what he brought in and what he wants to spend in the future. He says he want to turn U S 41 into an interstate. Wants to have a V A hospital built in Green Bay.

2) Concerning your proposal " No Discrimination in Health Care legislation ( HR 5449) - One piece of your legislation would require health care providers to post their prices. You have said that prices in your family's Allergy clinics aren't posted because current law won't allow it. Could you please tell us what current law you are speaking of ?

During his opening remarks he spent 5 minutes on this. Doctors and clinics should post prices. Thought I had him on this one! When the question was asked he said, he doesn't own his clinics, sold them and pretty much question was dropped. Questioner made comment well you don't own them so we don't need an answer. I should of pushed him on what law is on the books! His big thing is to push "purchasing pools".

Other questions that were asked. Paraphrasing some questions and answers.

Hobart, what will you do to stop land being taken off tax rolls by Native American tribes? Hurting tax base to towns and villages.
Answer, It's a state and federal solution. The fed should make townships that loose tax base whole again. Didn't answer the question except we taxpayers should pay for it. You people in Hobart, he's leaving you HIGH and DRY! In his mind he probably said " you SUCKERS" Rolled right into paper mill in Niagrara loosing jobs and the company is responsible for displaced workers when plants shut down. Throw it on the business, It's big businesses fault.

Fisa law., "it's a SMOKESCREEN, we are secure in this country"! He said it again, "it's a SMOKESCREEN!" What the heck is he talking about. Someone should be able to run with this one! We can now say Steve Kagen is on record as saying we are all safe and there is nothing to worry about as far as a terrorist threat. Wants the courts to rule on who should be listened to before we ease drop on some terrorist. Mr. Kagen also said, " cell phones are being tracked now!" Wow, what does he know that us average people don't know. Steve , how do you know this?

Question brought up about Pension Benefit System. Senator Bird's wife when he dies will get all his federal benefits from the federal government. Is that right. Other people don't have those kind of benefits.

Are you ready for the answer, Sit down, get ready for this one, and I quote Steve, "I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT." Holy cow Batman, what did we send him to Washington for?

Steve's comment, the 110 th congress is a "pay as you go" congress, we don't pass any bills if we don't have the money. The only thing congress passed that wasn't a pay as you go was the ATM fix. What? Is his congress a pay as you go congress? Can someone clarify his double speak?

Some general comments and, promises, campaign pledges, what ever you want to call them from my good buddy Steve.

V.A. hospital in Green Bay. - wants the vets vote.
3% tax deduction on health care. - wants the elderly vote.
3% deduction on property taxes.- wants everyone's vote.
Wants purchasing pools in health care.- going for the uninsured vote
Wants government controls on prescription drugs.- going for the elderly vote again.

What will save his behind? Family campaign donations can sometimes get you in a jam if they are not on the up and up, we shall see.

PSSST, Don't Tell Anyone

As I travel the this great state I am always looking for gasoline stations that sell real gasoline with no ETHANOL in it. So far in northeastern Wisconsin I have found three stations without the crap in it!

No Ethanol Gas Stations
Mobil - Taylor / Shawano Ave
Citgo - Hwy 41 / HWY B Suamico
B P - Hwy 45 Summit Lake

I always make it a point to thank the owner or tell the attendent to thank the owner of the station for having real gasoline.

Here is a dirty little secret that I should take to the Wisconsin Consumer Protection.

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, they don't want anyone to know. Gasoline stations that sell gasoline with ethanol get a .10 reduced cost for the blended gasoline.

That means they are price gouging customers! They are charging the same price for 10% blended as for regular no ethanol gasoline. Wouldn't this also be a part of price fixing?

If the market is set for regular non blended gasoline and they are getting a .10 discount then they should be charging .10 less than stations that charge for real gasoline. Where is our A G on this?

Where is the outrage? Link to Wisconsin Consumer Protection

SHHHHHHH, lets spread the word, only buy gas at real gasoline dealers. Support dealers that are trying to make it with regular non blended gasoline. They need our business. Don't forget the soda ands snacks, they need the profits!

Renewable Energy?

Study: Another 300 Wisconsin
schools could be heated with wood
By ROBERT IMRIE Associated Press
Writer
WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) -- A new study by a
group trying to save energy concludes that up to 300 schools in Wisconsin could switch to wood heat and save hundreds of thousands of dollars in energy costs.
The study, financed by Focus on Energy, found the change - based on current natural gas prices - would save schools up to $75,000 each year, paying for the investments perhaps within five years.

I'm sorry, isn’t burning wood destroying our planet? Don't you increase carbon dioxide into the atmosphere?

Wisconsin has 16.1 million acres of forests, covering 46 percent of the state's
land area, the study said.

How do we cut down these trees if Diamond Jim keeps putting more land into state owned land every budget? Will he release some of it to heat schools? Don't think so unless he is getting his pocket greased!

There are many questions. Only one answer, follow the money!

Let's see, first who owns the trees, oh yea, the state will pay premium price for the wood! Cha ching! Second, who will cut down the trees? Cha ching, lumber companies! Second who will haul the wood? Cha ching, trucking companies! Oh lets not forget the company that manufactures the boilers! Cha ching! Oh wait someone has to install them, cha ching, heating contractors!

Now if they use wood pellets, the pellet manufacturer, cha ching! Now you have the company that sells the pellets, cha ching! Now we have to have someone fill the boilers at the school, can we say more union people, cha ching! Hang on, we will need two to three people to keep it stoked 24/7! Oh my, where will it end?

Now , I am not against the free market system. If these guys make money (profits) so be it. What I am P O'd about is that all the money will be piad by tax dollors. Can we say the $300.00 gov. hammer. How about the $1000.00 gov. toliet seat. Hummmmmm, ethanol plants anyone. Can we say higher food prices from higher corn prices? Someone will make money, but because it will be someone else's money ( TAXPAYERS), the cost for all facets of this will go sky high. And the taxpayer will keep paying and paying and paying!

How big of a wood boiler will it take to heat a school?

What about Geo Thermal. It heats and cools! Paul you dumb a_ _, thats not going to make them rich!

What do we do when we run out of trees? What do we do when the environment is being destroyed?

This seems like the boilermakers are taking a page from the ethanol corn pimps selling us out on gasoline? A whore, is a whore, is a whore! They always will take the money!

Can we all say" FOLLOW THE MONEY

Where Is It Coming From.

From Rush's Thursday Show.

RUSH: I just saw this story on Politico.com, and I'm really curious about this. "Hillary Clinton's campaign is set to announce later today that she's on track to raise roughly $35 million in the month of February, a huge month by any standard measure of political fundraising and her best of the
campaign." Now, "Obama raised $36 million in January, and appears to be on track to surpass that figure this month." So $35 million for Hillary; over $36 million for Obama. We're looking here at $72 million! Where in the hell is this money
coming from? We've got a story here that economic growth came to a screeching halt in the first quarter. Was it the first quarter, or adjusted fourth? What did I do with the damn story? It's 0.6%, whatever it is. The economy has come to
a screeching halt.

Now, where in the hell is this money coming from? We got gasoline heading to four bucks a gallon; it's already there in some places. We have people who can't pay their mortgages and are being foreclosed on. We got people now can't afford food because of biofuels and the cost of wheat and the cost of corn. How in the world are people giving $70 million in one month to two Democrats? Where is this money coming from and how come these Democrats out there raising all this money aren't saying, "Don't give the money to me! Keep it for yourself because we're in a recession and you're going to need it to buy gasoline and food, and you're going to need it to pay your mortgage." Why aren't they saying that? They're begging people for their money, in the midst of all this malaise, supposedly. But I still want to know where it's coming from, because they say it's being raised on the Internet.

This is awfully curious to me. You mean to tell me that in the midst of what people think is a failing economy, that they're still running out to give money to Hillary and Barack? Well, they may be. You might have the janitors or the dishwashers in Chinatown. They might be flourishing. That's my point. Where is this coming from?

To my liberal relitves, are you giving money?

From Dictionary.com
leap year –noun
(in the Gregorian calendar) a year that contains 366 days, with February 29 as an additional day: occurring in years whose last two digits are evenly divisible by four, except for centenary years not divisible by 400.

What does a leap year really mean?
If it's your birthday today and you were born in 1960, are you 48 or 12? Why isn't this a major holiday, shouldn't the post office and stock market be closed today? Ah yes, let us not forget our union brothers and sisters, they should get the day off. Or they should be at least be claiming overtime, it is a extra day on the calender. Here's some things you may not know.

From About.com

Leap Year has been the traditional time that women can propose marriage.

Did you know there is a web site for leapers?

From Yahoo today in history

In 1504, Christopher Columbus, stranded in Jamaica during his fourth voyage to the West, used a correctly predicted lunar eclipse to frighten hostile natives into providing food for his crew. That evil white guy started the whole thing.

In 1940, "Gone with the Wind" won eight Academy Awards, including best picture of 1939. My angel's favorite movie.

In 1960, the first Playboy Club, featuring waitresses clad in "bunny" outfits, opened in Chicago. In my younger day went to the one in Lake Geneva, was not impressed except for the bunnies.

Twelve years ago: About 30 television and entertainment industry executives met with President Clinton at the White House, where they promised to devise a TV ratings system. Oh yes, we can see that is working today.

Eight years ago: George W. Bush won Republican presidential primaries in Virginia, Washington state and North Dakota, defeating John McCain. Well, eight years, not sure what to say.

Four years ago:"The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" won a record-tying 11 Academy Awards, including best picture. Great Movie.

Well, one more day in the year, one more day for my angel to give me my honey do list, one more day to enjoy my God, my family , my job and interests. Always in that order. Enjoy the day.

Madison - One. That was the all-important number
Thursday night in the University of Wisconsin's 57-42 victory over Michigan State.

In winning their school record 14th Big Ten game, the 10th-ranked Badgers set a school record with just one turnover. And in a strong defensive display, they held Badgers-killer Drew Neitzel to one basket and three points and the league's top shooting team to 20 points and 30% shooting in the second half.

Pet Sterilization Becomes Law in LA

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa on Tuesday signed one of the nation's toughest laws on pet sterilization, requiring most dogs and cats to be spayed or neutered by the time they are 4 months old.
The ordinance is aimed at reducing and eventually eliminating the thousands of euthanizations conducted in Los Angeles' animal shelters every year. "We will, sooner rather than later, become a no-kill city and this is the greatest step in that direction," Councilman Tony Cardenas said as he held a kitten at a City Hall news conference.
Councilman Richard Alarcon, who like Cardenas is

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Mayor Johnny Macbama on Tuesday signed one of the nation's toughest laws on human sterilization, requiring most male and female adults to be spayed or neutered by the time they are 14 years of age.

The ordinance is aimed at reducing and eventually eliminating the thousands of euthanizations conducted in Los Angeles' abortion shelters every year. If Lori Waldon is remembered for just one thing as news director at WISN-TV (Channel 12), it will be for the biggest coup in Milwaukee TV history: bringing Mike Gousha to the ABC affiliate.

The 46-year-old Waldon has been at the helm of Channel 12's news operation for a little more than a year, and that tenure could run a long, long time. She already has broken a major barrier, becoming the first person of color to lead a Milwaukee TV newsroom.

Congratulations to Lori Waldon on being the boss at WISN. The difference between conservatives and liberals is the following.

I do not see her as a person of color. I do not see her as a female in a mans world. The left will always dress up a story with cutsie words that are supposed to enlighten the readers. Oh, " a person of color!"

I must have a right wing problem. A partisan problem that the left accuses us of all the time.

Sorry Tim, I only see her as a person who was hired for her skills and experience and looks like she's doing one heck of a job. To you lefty kook nuts, sorry I did not notice her gender or skin color.

Berry Laker's White Deer

Location, Hwy 51 west , just east of Bay road, a half mile east of CTH W in Manitowish Waters.

As I was traveling to Hurley this morning, a truck slowed down for some deer crossing the road. In front of the right side of the truck I could see two brown deer running from left to right. As the truck moved on I turned to the right to see the deer. The Lord must of been with me. Right there , three white tail deer, two brown and one completely white, white tail deer, What an awesome sight.

The locals all said they have a few around that area. One person said there must be a buck with stamina and is producing several white deer. He said the white herd is growing. I don't know if it was an albino or not. I did not see pink eyes. What ever the case, if you havent seen one in the wild, your missing something spectacular. I could not believe what I was seeing. Most people will never see such a sight.
If I only had my camera. Well it looked like the one above but no horns. The above picture is from google search. The dumb ass I am , I certainly will take a camera with me next time.

Oh crap, I just thought of it, I had a camera on my cell phone! O K , I'm an idiot. The moment was just too much.

Neighbor could face charge after cattle wandered to his farm
PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. (AP) -- Three months after nearly a dozen cattle wandered off a Crawford County farm, a district attorney is considering a theft charge against a neighbor.
A rural Wauzeka man allegedly cut off the ear tags
of 11 cows and heifers that wandered to his farm and failed to return the animals to owner Larry Stluka, according to sheriff's officials.

Moran said even though the neighbor didn't take the cattle off the property, what he did is still theft.

Stluka said the accused thief has been a "good neighbor" otherwise.

"Naturally, you hold it against him, but I still like the guy, " he said.

He wasn't stealing, just borrowing! When are we going to hold people responsable and call it the way it is.

You White Folks

From Marcus Aurelius and Charlie Sykes
White people like link

This is GREAT!

# 73 - In general, white people love situations where they
can’t lose. While this does account for the majority of their situations, perhaps the safest bet a white person can make is to buy a house in an up-and-coming neighborhood.

#71 - In most situations, white people are very comforted by
seeing their own kind. However, when they are eating at a new ethnic restaurant or traveling to a foreign nation, nothing spoils their fun more than seeing another white person.

#67 - Music is very important to white people. It truly is the
soundtrack to their lives, meaning that white people are constantly thinking about what songs would be on the soundtrack for the biopic. The problem is that cost of the music that white people like isn’t really dance-friendly. More often the songs are about pain, or love, or breaking up with someone, or not being able to date someone, or death.

# 64 - Recycling is a part of a larger theme of stuff white
people like: saving the earth without having to do that much.

#63 - Having already covered breakfast and dinner options, the question remains: what do white people like to do for lunch? The answer: expensive sandwiches.

These are Great. You have got to read this. How true some of it can be. Mostly to those libs out there!

Bradley Center may sell naming rights
Board hires firm to find sponsor

Confronted with the economic realities of the sports and entertainment business, the Bradley Center board for the first time is looking for a naming-rights deal for the nearly 20-year-old facility.

Bradley Center officials said the decision to explore new sponsorships, including the potential for a new name, was not taken lightly. The Bradley Center, first opened in October 1988, was a $90 million gift from Jane Bradley Pettit in honor of her father, Harry Lynde Bradley. For most Milwaukeeans, the
center is the embodiment of Pettit's philanthropy in the community.

So someone gives you 90 million and you decide to crap on them!
This must be a 'what have you done for me lately' or the board wants more money from the Bradly Foundation.

But the current price surge could be short-lived.
While gasoline has risen sharply in recent days in response to oil's dramatic climb to a new record above $101 a barrel, gas supplies have quietly grown to their highest level in 14 years.

Angry Men

From Rush who told us about Gary Hubbell and the Aspen Times. I thought it was worth repeating.

In election 2008, don’t forget Angry White Man
Gary Hubbell February 9, 2008

Who is this angry guy and what does he stand for?

Link to full article.

He believes the Constitution is to be interpreted literally, not as a “living document” open to the whims and vagaries of a panel of judges who have
never worked an honest day in their lives.

The Angry White Man owns firearms, and he’s willing to pick up a gun to defend his home and his country. He is willing to lay down his life to defend
the freedom and safety of others, and the thought of killing someone who needs killing really doesn’t bother him.

The Angry White Man is not a metrosexual, a homosexual or a victim. Nobody like him drowned in Hurricane Katrina — he got his people together and got the hell out, then went back in to rescue those too helpless and stupid to help themselves, often as a police officer, a National Guard soldier or a volunteer firefighter.

His last name and religion don’t matter. His background might be Italian, English, Polish, German, Slavic, Irish, or Russian, and he might have Cherokee, Mexican, or Puerto Rican mixed in, but he considers himself a white American.

He’s a man’s man, the kind of guy who likes to play poker, watch football, hunt white-tailed deer, call turkeys, play golf, spend a few bucks at a strip club once in a blue moon, change his own oil and build things. He coaches baseball, soccer and football teams and doesn’t ask for a penny. He’s the kind of guy who can put an addition on his house with a couple of friends, drill an oil well, weld a new bumper for his truck, design a factory and publish books. He can fill a train with 100,000 tons of coal and get it to the power plant on time so that you keep the lights on and never know what it took to flip that light switch.

Women either love him or hate him, but they know he’s a man, not a dishrag. If they’re looking for someone to walk all over, they’ve got the wrong guy. He stands up straight, opens doors for women and says “Yes, sir” and “No, ma’am.”He might be a Republican and he might be a Democrat; he might be a Libertarian or a Green. He knows that his wife is more emotional than rational, and he guides the
family in a rational manner.

He’s not a racist, but he is annoyed and disappointed when people of certain backgrounds exhibit behavior that typifies the worst stereotypes of their race. He’s willing to give everybody a fair chance if they work hard, play by the rules and learn English.

Most important, the Angry White Man is pissed off. When his job site becomes flooded with illegal workers who don’t pay taxes and his wages drop like a stone, he gets righteously angry. When his job gets shipped overseas, and he has to speak to some incomprehensible idiot in India for tech support, he simmers. When Al Sharpton comes on TV, leading some rally for reparations for slavery or some such nonsense, he bites his tongue and he remembers. When a child gets charged with carrying a concealed weapon for mistakenly bringing a
penknife to school, he takes note of who the local idiots are in education and law enforcement.

He also votes, and the Angry White Man loathes Hillary Clinton. Her voice reminds him of a shovel scraping a rock. He recoils at the mere sight of her on television. Her very image disgusts him, and he cannot fathom why anyone would want her as their leader. It’s not that she is a woman. It’s that she is who she is. It’s the liberal victim groups she panders to, the “poor me” attitude that she represents, her inability to give a straight answer to an honest question, his tax dollars that she wants to give to people who refuse to do anything for
themselves.

There are many millions of Angry White Men. Four million Angry White Men are members of the National Rifle Association, and all of them will vote against Hillary Clinton, just as the great majority of them voted for George Bush.

He hopes that she will be the Democratic nominee for president in 2008, and he will make sure that she gets beaten like a drum.

Don't we all know someone like this?
To you libs, you may not want to know someone like them but they are the one's protecting your ASS! They will always be there when you need them!

Think About it.
