If it's your birthday today and you were born in 1960, are you 48 or 12? Why isn't this a major holiday, shouldn't the post office and stock market be closed today? Ah yes, let us not forget our union brothers and sisters, they should get the day off. Or they should be at least be claiming overtime, it is a extra day on the calender. Here's some things you may not know.

Did you know there is a web site for leapers?

From Yahoo today in history

In 1504, Christopher Columbus, stranded in Jamaica during his fourth voyage to the West, used a correctly predicted lunar eclipse to frighten hostile natives into providing food for his crew. That evil white guy started the whole thing.

In 1940, "Gone with the Wind" won eight Academy Awards, including best picture of 1939. My angel's favorite movie.

In 1960, the first Playboy Club, featuring waitresses clad in "bunny" outfits, opened in Chicago. In my younger day went to the one in Lake Geneva, was not impressed except for the bunnies.

Twelve years ago: About 30 television and entertainment industry executives met with President Clinton at the White House, where they promised to devise a TV ratings system. Oh yes, we can see that is working today.

Eight years ago: George W. Bush won Republican presidential primaries in Virginia, Washington state and North Dakota, defeating John McCain. Well, eight years, not sure what to say.

Four years ago:"The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" won a record-tying 11 Academy Awards, including best picture. Great Movie.

Well, one more day in the year, one more day for my angel to give me my honey do list, one more day to enjoy my God, my family , my job and interests. Always in that order. Enjoy the day.
