NewPage would assist in sale of mill for non-coated
paper[Excerpt:] - NewPage committed Monday to assist in the sale or re-use of the Niagara Mill for the production of pulp or non-coated paper, according to a joint news release from U.S. Reps. Bart Stupak, D-Mich., Steve Kagen, D-Wis., and Thomas Petri, R-Wis. People on both sides of the border have been hoping that NewPage, one of the nation's largest papermakers, would agree to sell the mill to a non-competing company. The meeting in Washington, D.C.,was a virtualwho's who for state and congressional leaders from Wisconsin and Michigan. Along with Stupak,Kagen and Petri, the roster included NewPage chairman and CEO Mark Suwyn, Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle, and U.S. Sens. Carl Levin, D-Mich., Russ Feingold, D-Wis., Herb Kohl, D-Wis., and Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich.

This is interesting Paul. I featured this article last week using a caption that said something like "New Page" agrees to nothing. Seems like the Pine River publication received different news from the high-powered meeting. ???
