Snow set to hammer area
The three inches of snow that fell on Ironwood Thursday was merely a dusting, if National Weather Service predictions are correct.
Up to a foot and a half of snow is forecast for the Ironwood area through Sunday. Forecasters listed the chance of precipitation at 100 percent for both today and Saturday. A lake effect snow warning was in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday.
Wind-chill readings as low as minus 20 are forecast throughout the storm, as north winds are predicted to push the snow from Lake Superior inland. "
