As the state pushes school districts to be more specific in categorizing the money in their fund balances, school Administrator Tom Woznicki recommends assigning enough cash to place a laptop or notebook computer in the hands of every Florence student.

Woznicki on Monday night made a pitch to earmark $230,000 for education technology, specifically portable computers for all students."

From what I read Florence is in good financial shape. You have to give the school board credit for doing one great job if that is the case. Second they have show on paper where they will direct funds, some kind of state mandate. O K, but why a computer for every student? If Florence is that frugal with it's money, why throw it to the wind. Why not an I phone for every child? Why not buy every student a new car or truck. Look at the bus money they could save. I bet Scott Walker will work with Florence so they can save their money and not throw it away.

I can see up grades on the school internet system, but every student a computer, Come on! Just seems to be a left leaning democrat, liberal idea. He even used the word "EARMARK", Wow! Did he get this from his wife's Ann's platform when she ran for the Wisconsin 36th Assembly district.
