My first comment is it was sent from and I quote
" Presorted Standard U S Postage PAID St. Louis, MO Permit # 1206 ", go ahead look at your mailer. Why are people in Missouri sending information concerning the 8th district in Wisconsin.

Second, This group is giving Steve Kagen credit for the Children's Health Insurance Program or CHIP program.

From January 22,1999

HHS Secretary Donna E. Shalala has approved Wisconsin's proposal to expand BadgerCare health insurance coverage to uninsured children through the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Secretary Shalala also announced the approval of a Medicaid Sectin 115 waiver that serves as a companion to the CHIP program. You can find the link at HHS

So Steve Kagen is getting someone from outside of Wisconsin to give him credit for a program that has been around for what nine years (1999)?

People of Wisconsin and people of the 8th district of Wisconsin. How much more questionable campaigning will you let Steve Kagen throw at voters in this election. Steve Kagen should disavow this group. Are the people of Missouri allowed to run the politicians of Wisconsin? Will the MSM pick up on this? Highly doubtful. Will anyone look deeper into Steve Kagen and the
" Paid for by American's Agenda: Health for Kids" which is also on the bottom of the front of the mailer.

Channel 2 WBAY Green Bay, Channel 5 WFRV Green Bay, WLUK channel 11 Green Bay, WGBA channel 26 Green Bay, Green Bay Press Gazette and the Appleton Post Crescent.

Will anyone look into this story, highly unlikely. Where is the outrage? When will someone look into the politics of the 2008 election. It is the MSM's duty to investigate and report unbiased news.

"In the race for the state congressional districts, Vilas County showed a slight split between Steve Kagen, 296 votes, and John Gard, 413 votes." Ostermann emerges from primary with win over Carroll

Oneida County swayed the other way with Kagen receiving 573 votes to Gard's 355.

From the unofficial Oconto County Results

Kagen - 748 votes

Gard - 2218 votes

I need to check with the county clerk from Oconto, 1470 some odd votes for John Gard, Come on!

This is only from two sources.

I think most people in Onieda County were hunting in the north woods showing Kagen ahead in that county.

The rest must be a lot of crossover votes in the 8th district.

Things can change and remember this was only the primary.

Hansen / Fradette 30th Wisconsin Senate District

I did a post about congressman Steve Kagen about his election play book. Lets look at what Dave Hansen will do or not do for his upcoming election.

I have the same questions for Dave Hansen for the Senate 30 th district of Wisconsin. The names were changed but the meaning is the same.

Let us look at the Hansen's political game plan for 2008. Dave Hansen was with Joe Biden last Monday and what 450, 500 even the MSM said a 1000 ( MSM inflating numbers, no there was not a 1000) people attended the rally in Green Bay. So Dave Hansen was with the power of the democratic juggernaut. Only 500 people, where was Dave Hansen's constituents?

My question is, will Dave Hansen be front and center with Barack Obama at his next rally in Northeastern Wisconsin. Dave was front and center with Joe Biden, but will he do the same when O comes to town?

How strong will Dave Hansen campaign for Barack Obama or will Dave Hansen stay under the radar screen to save his political seat?

Obama supporters, I ask you, how strong will Dave Hansen back your candidate? Will he campaign hard for Obama or will Mr. Hansen be too worried about O's liberal stances to even risk being seen with him? Will Dave Hansen run from the Barack Obama campaign? It sure seems that way to me.

Will Dave Hansen keep his distance from the messiah Obama. I will wait for a T V spot with Barack and Hansen together telling the people of the 30th Wisconsin Senate district.to vote for them for change, for hope. Ah, not sure if that will happen.

Now we hear news about the Fradette / Hansen election. What gives with these numbers. From the Fradette web site.

Update 5:05 p m- I just thought the disparity in the number of votes between Hansen and Fradette was the 500 people that were still at the Biden rally and didn't know the rally was over until Wednesday morning. Some one should of told them the rally ended Monday so they could of voted on Tuesday. PRICELESS!

My, We Have Issues

From a newly created blog from Green Bay called "Random Thoughts of a B ClassTrucker":Went through his archives and came across Michael's read on Wal Mart. Seems he has an issue with Wally world.

"Having fun with some of the Roommates, The Manatee and Brewer to be specific, we went to the Walmart in GB at about 1130PM in need of some odds and ends, little things.

Brewer and I enjoy making fun of Walmart as being both a Republican factory and a Republican foodbag. Which begs the question why we keep going there... anyway.

Aside from the continual poking fun at the store in general, we also enjoy making fun of/poking fun at random employees of the evil empire.

While at the checkout, I got .16 cents back in change and as I walked out I asked the lady to "Give my change to the Republican National Committee, would you?"

The more we continue to go there, the more pis_ _ d the employees seem to be, being snarky, cheeky, and generally pithy...

Walmart pis_ _s me off, but I am too poor to stand on principle.

If you want to know why Mrs. Pelosi is so eager to now talk energy, this is it. Wisconsin's Steve Kagen, who in 2006 won a district that went 55% for George W. Bush, is getting hammered by his GOP opponent, John Gard, for his party's refusal to pass drilling legislation.

It looks like Nancy to the rescue. Now Kagen can say he is for drilling, yea right!

As for Mr. Obama's 50-state game, many freshman Dems are too worried about being tarred with his liberal stances to even risk being seen with him.

Let us look at the Kagen political game plan for 2008. Voters Tuesday approved a $24.9 million building plan for the Shawano School District, overcoming 11th hour opposition that emerged late last week.

Though the vote was close in some of the outlying areas, voters in the city of Shawano put the measure well over the top.

The total vote was 2,186 in favor to 1,842 against. In the city of Shawano, voters approved the plan by 1,143 to 824.

“It was a nail-biter,” said Lincoln Elementary principal Troy Edwards. “We were only about 25 ahead before Shawano came in.”

The vote means the district can go forward with a new $20.5 million elementary school to handle Early Childhood through second grade. The Olga Brener Elementary School will be remodeled at a cost of $4.4 million into an intermediate school to handle third grade through the fifth grade, which is currently housed at the middle school.

Lincoln Elementary will be discontinued as a school and the district will explore other options for the historic building.

“The children of Shawano won tonight,” Edwards said.

Borrowing for the building plan is expected to add 48 cents per $1,000 to the tax rate, or $48 per year.

“This is great for the students and the community,” said superintendent Todd Carlson.

The next step will be for the architects to begin doing renderings for a more detailed design of the building.

“There’s still a lot of work to be done,” Edwards said.

School officials began looking into options a year ago for dealing with severe overcrowding and space limitations at Olga Brener and the 83-year-old Lincoln Elementary School." Shawano Leader

What the HECK is going on here?

Election officials were targeting students Tuesday: historically an age group with one of the lowest voting rates.
Election officials were doing all they can to make it easier for students to vote.

“They're all voting for the first time,” Arney said.

If it weren't for the signs posted all over campus, a lot of students say they would not have even known that they could register at the polls Tuesday.

"Kids have so much going on that they need reminders,” 18-year-old Devan Shihata said.

Shihata, who will vote for the first time on November 4th, brought all her friends to the student polling site to register Tuesday.

“I think it's really important because we are the future,” Shihata said.

Couple of questions.

Why were "Election officials were doing all they can to make it easier for students to vote?" How far exactly did they go?

Is ACORN involved?

Does Tom Barret know about this? Show me fraud, I dare you to show me one case of fraud!

How many students are also going to vote absentee back in their home towns? Isn't voting twice called voter FRAUD?

The big issues for Haushalter are the economy, the environment and college tuition.

If you don't know the people on a specific ballot, pass.

I heard of " I don't know any of these candidates, this name sounds nice , I'll vote for her".
And there's "I won't vote for a female, I'll just vote for this guy."
Or, "does yes mean no or voting no will not raise my taxes?"
How about , " the children really need a new school, I'll vote yes for the children!"
Then there is "CNN said he was not a good candidate!"
And " my union told me to vote all democrat."

Please, if you going to vote put some work and thoughts to who or what you are voting for.
If your not sure , skip that part of the ballot.

It's your right to vote , it is also your duty as a voter to know what and who you are voting for!

We had to file a 1040X, pay $25 plus $5 for certified mail to get our $600 per couple, while others received $1,200 per couple.

We all pay $4 a gallon for gas, pay the same for food, clothes or whatever we buy.

Why can't we all receive the same amount — rich or poor?

The stimulus checks were supposed to be for people that pay federal taxes. Henry, I am guessing you are retired and are getting SS and you have not paid any federal taxes.

"As students enter another school year and open their American History text books they will read and remember how Ronald Reagan defeated communism, the Iron Curtain, brought an end to the cold war, and standing at the Brandenburg gate and yelling “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”

While Reagan’s Presidential Legacy will be defined by his political accomplishments and achievements, an overlooked quality is the one that I will remember most; his ability to effectively communicate with the American people.

Reagan had an uncanny ability to connect with people on all levels, and for this was anointed as “The Great Communicator”. This quality specifically resonated with me when I received a handwritten letter from President Reagan when I was 11 years old. Of all things I wrote President Reagan a letter asking him what his views on leadership was. Among other things, He said leaders have to take a stand, and not to be afraid to stand up for what’s right. After my initial aura of receiving a letter from the President of the United States, I remember thinking of how important he made me feel by addressing the issues that are important to me.

As I was watching and listening to Sarah Palin address the delegates at the republican convention, I couldn’t help but feel that she was directly talking to me as if I was the only person in the room. To me this ability to reach out to voters and captivate them is an intangible quality. You either have it or you don’t; and fortunately for republicans, neither Barack Obama or Joseph Biden possess this quality.

Her ability to be plain spoken and talk about complex issues in a simplistic manner is similar to the way President Reagan used to talk to the American people. I’m most impressed with Sarah Palin and I’m glad she’s on our team!

Nancy Kuhn of Denver's public works department says the figure is based on the number of credentials that were scanned as delegates, individuals and news media entered the football stadium where Obama was accepting the Democratic presidential nomination Thursday night.

The stadium normally holds 76,125 people, but additional seats were placed on the football field where the Denver Broncos play.

As you may have heard, Wisconsin is about to impose notably stringent mandates for reducing mercury: The Department of Natural Resources is going to require utilities to cut their mercury emissions by 90% over the next few years. " On mercury rules - Patrick McIlheran: Right On

Utilities were already under a federal mandate to cut mercury by 70%, and they were under the impression that the state mercury standards were going to be the same. The DNR standard was, in fact, just that, but Gov. Jim Doyle, running for re-election in 2006, ordered the DNR to make it 90% instead. Environmentalists lauded this, on the rational grounds that any mercury is bad mercury, while utilities pointed out that getting a 90% reduction is much costlier and of dubious feasibility.

Nice, isn't it that Jim Doyle takes care of his Environmentalist friends.

Besides, they pointed out, the EPA's research found little added benefit from a 90% cut compared to a 70% one, while it adds a lot of cost.

Adds a lot of cost to who?

Avg tax payers, how much more can we take? This means to business, higher costs which means higher costs to consumers. Who are consumers? All of us, including the dumb jack's that keep voting for these liberal lefty democrats.

The environmentalists have to be happy the two New Page mills shut down in Wisconsin. Two less big nasty dirty evil mills shut down.The union's cannot have it both ways. Do they want jobs for their members or their politicians that are shutting down businesses? When will union members wake up and see the bait and switch their leaders are doing with your dues. Is Doyle and the DNR for jobs and people or for the environmentalists? Yea, yea I know New Page shut the mills down but you have to know there are some environmental wacko's happy they are gone. The democratic parties own special interest groups. How many more businesses will shut down or move out of state before people wake up. I hope before they get laid off with no job. Jim Doyle and the dem's are your friends.

You can't have it both ways! And the rank and file suck up everything their leaders tell them. Sure helps the X employee's at New Page. Sooner or later will the unions and it's members protect and vote for the envoromentalists who are taking away their jobs? No, no it those evil republicans that are evil.

I give credit to the Green Bay Press Gazette. You have done some honest up front reporting in the upcoming 8th district election. I have been hard on your paper in the past but today would like to thank you for doing your job.

Can we now say Steve Kagen must now own a newspaper in the Fox Valley? To the Appleton Post Crescent, disgraceful.

Besides Rove's denial, an Associated Press search of publications in the Nexis database found no record of Rove making that comment. Kagen's campaign offered three sources to back up its claim, but none provided solid documentation.

One, a January 2007 memo from the White House Office of Political Affairs lists Kagen and 19 other congressional Democrats as "2008 House Targets: Top 20."

The second source is a September 2006 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel blog about Rove being the guest at a Washington fundraiser for Kagen's opponent, John Gard. But the blog makes no mention of Rove calling Kagen the No. 1 target, and in any event, the fundraiser was for the 2006 race, not this year's Kagen-Gard rematch.

In the third case, a self-described "lefty" blogger, Renee Crawford, writes, "Word from the beat is that Karl Rove has decided that Steve Kagen ... is his number one seat in the entire country to win in 2008."

But the blog doesn't quote Rove or provide other documentation.

Which paper of record can we believe or which one is taking sides in the Wisconsin 8th district Congressional race. Will we hear the truth about the Gard Kagen election? Will we read slanted headlines to give Steve Kagen the upper hand? Will the people of the 8th district be deceived by the Appleton Post Crescent? Will John Gard get fair reporting from the Appleton newspaper?

It's time to send Steve Kagen back to private practice.

11:30 - I hate 294 traffic.
1:30 - Popeyes chicken better then KFC.
5:30 pull in campsite, great to see the campers next door,Holy cow a bigger campsite. lost a hub cap, how much will that cost?
8:30 p m - done setting up, time for adult beverages

Let us track some of the things congress has done since 2007. Steve Kagen took office on January 3, 2007. Steve Kagen promised us to get things done in Washington. What has he and the 110th Congress done for the people of the 8th district of Wisconsin. Together we will do what?

"May 5-9 as National Substitute Teacher Recognition Week"

"Set July 28 as the Day of the American Cowboy."

"National Funeral Director and Mortician Recognition Day."

"July as National Watermelon Month."

"Resolution recognizing America's Christmas-tree industry."

Congress, which won't return to session until September, has yet to pass any 2009 appropriations bills, even though funding the federal budget is its official function.

Steve Kagen is running on his record. His record shows he has done nothing in congress and nothing for the 8th district of Wisconsin.

So we have to send Steve Kagen back to Washington to get things done? He got nothing done the last year and a half but wants the voters to send him back again? A vote for Steve Kagen is a vote for $5.50 gasoline and lost jobs across the 8th district. The economic problems loom and Steve Kagen can only talk. From Steve Kagen's own web site he claims, "Together We Will", will what? Together he is making us pay more for everything we touch.

It's time to send Steve Kagen back to private practice.
