Before the election my family and I had a lively discusion on
politics . We got into a discusion about phone bills. I seem to recall
that we all were trying to save 20 bucks here and 20 bucks there.
Dial up service for the internet compared to dsl service. My main
point was people worry abouta 20 dollar dial up and not about who
people vote for ( Higher Taxes) (Lower Taxes)
Well sis, since you are a state employee, will your union cover your
increase in driver fee's?

The Right Thing to Do
What is the right thing to do after this past election?
I say that for several reasons, no matter what is done , no matter
what good intentions , it's never right! The truth is never reported
by the main stream media!
Example one :
I take for example "welfare reform". Back in 1994 a new congress
was elected. They said that welfare needed to be fixed. It was not a
popular idea at the time, but it was something that needed to be
fixed. No, it may not have been a compassionet stance to take
thousands off the welfare rolls but to give welfare to the people
that really needed it was the main goal! If you need welfare you
need to get a job or further your education to better yourself.
Sounds like a great plan, and you know what, it worked! The
republicans brought it up and President Clinton signed it into law .
From the media point of veiw it was Bills idea and he got alot of the
credit! If it was not for the republicans it would never became law
and all the people off of welfare would not be productive citizines
today. The demacarts are the party of the people but a lot of
democrats didn't vote for it. Who is called anti poverty by the
main stream media, republicans!
Example two ;
The cival Rights act of 1964 which was signed by President
Johnson, the republicans are always said to be agaist civil
rights , but back in 1964 more republicans voted for civil
rights than democrats. If it wasn't for republicans voting for it,
it would never have passed! The democrats didn't have
enough votes by themselves to pass it.

When taxes start going through the roof and people start

Veterans Day 2006
I would like to give thanks to all the Veterans for there
service for our country.
First I want to thank my uncles Ed, Roman and Ed , and my brother Jim
for serving our country. I may have missed some relatives or cousins
who served but I am sorry I did not remember their names. I am very
proud of what they have done to protect our freedom in this counrty.
They never really said much about their service but their courage and
beliefs is what makes this country so great. To all the men and women
that served , served and died , also to those that are now serving is
what keeps what we sometimes take for granted that much more valuable.
Yes , you have free speech,
Yes, you can turn away from our flag ,
Yes , you can burn the flag,
Yes , you may not believe in God!

Yes we are only married to one man and one woman,
Yes, in 45 states we have conceled carry (not in Wis),

Town Meeting Last Night
It amazes me how small goverment works.
Last night our township meet with a special meeting
concerning special funding for two updated water trucks
for our fire department and money for road repair for 2007 .
First I would like to say we have good people working for our
residents ( our chairamn and board members ) and good
people in our volunteer fire department .
Both proposals passed but I guess with the after thoughts
about tuesday's election I can see most people do not care
about goverment , Taxes , and or quality of life issues.
There were 5 of 6 members of our towns elected officials
present at the meeting , eight members from the fire department
( they needed the updated fire equipment ) and Drumroll please,
DADADADADADADADADADADADADADADADASDADADADA
DADADADADADADADADADADADADADADADADADADADAD
Two, thats right two residents representing all the people of Underhill!
Yes , the people from the fire department are residents but to me
they were there to get better equipment which they deserve !
Myself and one other gentleman from the whole town .
People should not b_ _ ch when their taxes go up, or complain when
they don't get good services from their local goverment !!!!!!!!!!!
Thank God we have people that care about them( Town Board members)
that are making good decisions for them.
People are correct when they say being conservative is difficult,
you get blamed for the poor , blamed for wars , blamed for not
having compassion (Katria), blamed for coruption in goverment
( even if the libs are corrupt also) , blamed for the bad economy
( 4.4 unemployment, high stock market- did you make money on
your 401 K), blamed for everything that you stand for!!!!!!
But if your a lib you don't have to make any tough decisions ,
just have compassion for everyone , blame Bush , it's Iraq.
To be a lib is the most GUTLESS position to have . Stand for everything
and do nothing about it!!!

Wisconsin Gasoline Prices
Jazz Band Concert - Gillet H S
Tonight don't miss the Gillett High School Band
concert .
They will have the UWGB jazz band playing
to open the show. I have two say the jazz band has
two great players , one on the trumpet and one in the
percussion section. I am very proud of my two boys playing
and all the rest of the kids playing in the band.
You have to understand Gillett is a small school but
we have a great bunch of future leaders attending .
All schools have problem children but I have to say most
of the students at Gillett have some great futures.
We are truely blessed with good teachers with great students.

Cost is around $94,000.00 for two.
The towns people will vote to autherize the town
spending $64,000.00 on a loan to purchase them.
They already have $30,000.00 already.
Aldo we need to authorize by vote on how much to borrow on road
repair for next year.
I fully understand we need better equipment for the fire
department but want to make sure we are getting the best
price for the best equipment . Did the fire department do
there homework?
Also we need the equipment , but how much am I going to
fork out in more taxes? Our assessed value went up 72% ,
will my taxes go up 72% ?
Also we have around 850 residents in our township.
How many residents will show up ?
At most monthly meetings for our township there are at most
one , two, or three people showing up at the last couple of meetings.
One person runs the recycling center (He's there to get paid) .
One person has been from the fire department ( he

And me, If I don't go no one would be there!
People BITCH all the time about Property Taxes
but never are interested in local goverment .
Don't get me wrong. The people we elected are good people

Hotel yanks CNN; says network is pro-terrorist

ROTHSCHILD — Guests at one local hotel who switch on
the TV in search of the latest news no longer have CNN
as an option.The Stoney Creek Inn, 1100 Imperial Ave.,
in Rothschild has dropped the 24-hour news channels
CNN and CNN Headline News from its basic cable offerings.
Tony Magro, 76, of Barrington, Ill., stayed at the inn
Monday night and said he was told by a receptionist that
the hotel chain’s corporate office had issued a letter calling
for the removal of the channels because CNN aids terrorists.
“I’m not an activist, and I really don’t have any interest,
but that struck me as over the top,” Magro said. “I’m rather
zealous about my rights as an American citizen, particularly
when I’m paying for the service.”Magro, who was driving to
Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for the funeral of a friend when
he had car trouble Monday in the Wausau area, said he had
tried tuning in to CNN to find the latest news on today’s
mid-term elections.The channel was nowhere to be found,
and he received an updated channel listing from the front
desk today. The updated listing includes news channels
MSNBC, CNBC, Fox News, C-SPAN and C-SPAN 2.James
Thompson, owner and chief executive officer of Stoney Creek
Hospitality Corp., made the decision to remove the channels,
according to the inn’s corporate office in Des Moines, Iowa.
Thompson is out of the office today and was not immediately

Great to see such a great turn out for the election, Not.
Kind of puzzled about how the people of Wisconsin accepted
the statas quo.

Election Notes
Went to my township at 3:45 p m and was # 128 .
Poll workers say nomal off year election would be around
100 for the day .
Our township has a little over 800 residents.
Did the electronic machine, didn't take much time for me but
for some people it took some time.
In the major election in two years they might have
to purchase another one.
I was told the machine can do up 200 voters in one day.
A lot of people voted with paper ballots so save waiting time .
Now 5;45 p m , we will see what the results will be .
Did the base come out to vote?
My Concern
Going to take my mother to Green Bay shopping .
What a good son!!!!!!!!!!!!
As I leave I wondering how much voter fraud will go on
accross the country and in our state.

Town Meeting
Township meeting was at 7:30 last night.
We are lucky to have the people on our town board.
We are west of Gillett and have ( I thought I heard )
the highest property values in the county. It was our
familys choice to have lake front property so the taxes
we have to pay , we pay. The town board seem to know
they can only afford what they have money for.
We do not have a fancy town Hall, have a volunteer fire Department.
All together they are great people.
Thursday Novenber 9th, 2006 Special meeting
for two new chaises for water tank trucks for fire dept.
Estimated cost $94,000.00 Est. loan for chaises for
trucks $64,000.00.
Also spending for road work for 2007.
If you care about taxes be there to vote.

beautuful wife's lab top in her new office. Wow , half a bottle
of whisky and a half a bottle vodka gone !

More than a month of dueling advertisements and heated debate will
soon give way to a vote.
But more than a few area residents could be in for a surprise when
they arrive at the polls Tuesday and find John Gard and Steve Kagen
missing from their ballots.
Why the confusion? The Fox Cities sit on the border between the
6th and 8th congressional districts.
The southern border of the 8th District — which will be represented
by either Gard or Kagen — generally follows the southern county
lines across Waupaca, Outagamie, Brown and Kewaunee counties.
A few short miles through the Fox Cities provide the exception.
Sherry Freimuth, who lives in Buchanan, assumed she would have
a vote in the 8th District race. There are plenty of campaign signs
just down the street from her house. Unfortunately, the district
border runs down her street, and her home is on the wrong side.
"We didn't know that," she said, when shown a map.
"That's a big disappointment."
Kimberly and a portion of Buchanan are the only locations in
Outagamie County that won't have a voice in the race.
The areas sit in the 6th District, where Republican Tom Petri
of Fond du Lac is unopposed for re-election.
Sandy Haas, deputy clerk for Kimberly, a village of more
than 6,000, said she's had to explain the district
boundaries to several voters.
"I've received some calls from people who received
their absentee ballots and are wondering why
(Kagen and Gard are) not on there."
Boundary confusion
Confusion likely runs deeper than those few absentee voters.
While all of Kimberly falls within the 6th District, campaign
signs for Gard and Kagen speckle lawns throughout the village.
One resident displaying a Kagen sign said he since learned
he was out of the district, but still wanted to show support.
Another was surprised to learn Petri was his representative.
Others couldn't be convinced that the race wouldn't be on the ballot.
So, just who does get to vote in the heavily contested race?
Most of Appleton sits in the 8th District. The southwest corner
of Appleton located in Winnebago County is the only portion of
the city represented by Petri.
Waupaca County is entirely within the 8th District.
Towns in the Heart of the Valley are where the border becomes
most confusing.
In Buchanan, the 8th District carves out a peninsula within a
residential area east of Outagamie County N. On some streets,
a resident could stand in the 6th District, look through two blocks
of the 8th District and see the 6th on the other side.
Buchanan Town Clerk John Derks said he expects his poll workers
will have to give plenty of explanations to voters come Tuesday.
Outside of Appleton, Harrison's 9th Ward is the only area in
Calumet County included in the 8th Congressional District.
Don't look for its voters to swing the election toward either
Gard or Kagen.
"We have four registered voters in Ward 9," Harrison Town
Clerk Penny Weir said.
Confusion could extend beyond border areas.
The candidates have advertised heavily, and the local television
and radio markets extend far beyond the district borders.
Oshkosh, for instance, sits within Petri's district, though its
residents are equally bombarded by network TV ads as
voters in Brown and Outagamie counties.
Oshkosh City Clerk Pam Ubrig said her office hasn't been
inundated with questions, but a few voters have been
curious as to why the Gard-Kagen race wasn't on their ballots.
Census shakeup
The district border was set by the state Legislature four
years ago in response to the 2000 census.
Michael Keane of the Wisconsin Legislative Reference Bureau
said district boundaries are redrawn after each census due
to population shifts. The goal: Have each district represent
the same number of people.
The new district lines, approved by the Legislature in 2002,
were more drastic than usual because the state lost a member
of Congress in the last census, Keane said.
Derks said efforts to balance population on each side of the
6th and 8th district line explain the confusing border in Buchanan.
"There was no common sense to it other than population."
Before the 2002 change, Little Chute and Combined Locks were
with neighboring Kimberly in the 6th District. The change might
contribute to the confusion in Kimberly given the close
proximity of the villages.
Josh Young recently became a Kimberly resident and decided to
go to the Internet to determine his representative. He expected
he'd be in the 8th District. He was wrong.
"I had no idea Petri was here," he said.
He's now surprised to see Kagen and Gard campaign signs
posted in his neighborhood.
Regardless of where the border winds, it's a race where most
everyone has an opinion.
Municipal clerks have noticed.
"We've had some people disappointed," Weir said. "
They felt they watched the ads for nothing."

Mom, He Does't Take Medicare Patients
Wisconsin 8th District election for Congress in Wisconsin.
To My Dear and loving mother of mine.
I would like to give my mother a personel post about Dr Steve Kagen.
I know we diagree on politics , I know Franklin Roosevelt and
John Kennedy were great presidents. I know your beliefs run deep .
I know you had a hard life living through the depression.
I know you didn't have the most wonderful marrage .
I know one of your son's ( me) wasn't the best son you had ! I know
you had a mother and father that their grandson is and will always be
proud of . I was the one sitting on my grandmothers knee in that picture
when I think I was one.
I know you and only you taught me your faith,
your honesty and your love for family which sometimes I may forget.
I am writing this to say when you beleive in something, you should at
least say it and not keep it inside . To say what I believe in is
whats important to your children , grandchildren and
great grandchildren . What you believe is your choice but there are
times when I must give you my opinon. Obviously , I cannot talk to
you one on one because what I say you will not believe . Because I
may be the only conservitive ( republican) in the family, you will
not believe me . You only believe what is said on CNN or see on
local T V. I know you may disagree with that comment but that
is what I believe.
That is why I ask you this question.

bizarre campaign is the fact that Steve Kagen -- the millionaire
doctor running as a liberal Democrat for Congress in the
Green Bay area -- refuses to participate in Medicare or
TRICARE (the program for active duty and retired military.)
This is a guy who wants government-mandated health care,
but refuses to participate in the two programs.
Ninety-five percent of the doctors in the state participate,
but not the Democrat's great liberal hope.
If you do not believe that comment , please call Dr. Kegan at
1-800-255-9355 and ask him !
Is Medicare not important to you and all seniors?
Why will Mr. Kegan not help people on Medicare or Tri care.
If he wants to help people who cannot afford healthcare,
why doesn't he particapate in Medicare programs in Wisconsin?

goverment, not turned away from health care when they need it .

Unemployment rate lowest in nearly 5-1/2yrs
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. unemployment rate dropped
to its lowest in nearly 5-1/2 years during October as 92,000 more
jobs were added and hiring in each of the two prior months was
revised up, a government report on Friday showed.
The October new-jobs figure was below Wall Street economists'
expectations for 125,000 but the Labor Department said a
total 139,000 more jobs were created in August and September
than it had previously thought. It revised up September's job-creation
total to 148,000, or nearly three times the 51,000 it reported
a month ago, and said there were 230,000 new jobs in
August instead of 188,000.

I would like to say when I owned a baker in the past we had many service people for customers. I was very proud of the young people putting their lives on the line for all Americans , for all our freedoms. There was one cake for a proud , brave young man that had a birthday party his wife planned before he was shipping out to Iraq. I told his wife I was very proud of her husband for what he was doing for my family and others in our country . I gave her the cake for free!!!!! She was very thankful . After a few months I received a letter from his wife telling us how much they enjoyed the cake and how grateful her husband was for the cake. She also said her husband mentioned that most people don't tell them, thank them or understand what they are doing for this country! It made him proud that there are people who know what they are doing , and that their are people who believe what they are doing is RIGHT! When I heard that it made me feel so proud of him and all our troops. It was a moment I will never forget!
I just wanted to tell you this because after what Mr. Kerry said , and not apologize for his comment is an OUTRAGE!!!
We need to be proud and thank our troops for everything this country stands for !!!!!!!!!!!
For what they do is what gives my family and freinds there right to give their views on life , on politics . Give family and friends the right to start busineses , the right to go hunting , the right to keep and bear arms . Give my family and friends the right not to listen to Rush ( they don't know what their missing) !

Roundabouts in Oconto County
What or who is in charge of the highways in Oconto County?
Roundabouts on a major Highways?
a) one in city of Gillett by the curve north of Gillett by the Shell Station.
b) one at the Hwy 22 / 32 intersection 3 or 4 miles east of Gillett.
c) one just west of downtown Oconto Falls by the feed mill.
Latest news in the Times Herald.
This is not Europe, this is Wisconsin.
Why would the state highway dept. put roundaboutsin our area.
I can see if it is a non State highway but this is a little over the top!
What will these roundabouts do for the city of Gillett, Oconto Falls and others small towns along State Highways 32 and 22
Most people will find a way to bypass Gillett, as if the city of Gillett doesn't have enough problems with small bussnesses.
Remember the survey the city had with high School students.
What did they tell them, "when we graduate we are gone"!
No future in this area! No Bakerys etc. , yes, thank you Subway but we need more bussiness.
The state may be thinking about cheap ways to update the highway , but how will the trucking industry take these changes?
Highway 22 is a major road through Gillett going north from Shawano , get ready CTH R , most people will bypass Gillett in Cecil and take CTH R to Suring. Will bussiness traffic bypass Oconto Falls and Gillett all together?
We only need to look at enrollment at the Gillett school system to see what is happening in our area.
What was kindergarden numbers this year ( I was told it 34) . What will it be when more quality of life issues keep leaving Gillett and the area?
I would hope our elected officials in Gillett, Oconto falls and Ocounto County are looking at this closely! Is this the case highway funding , use it or loose it?
Did you ever notice why we have curbs out in the counrty at most intersections? I was told highway money has to be spent or the counties loose money in the next budget.

Wisconsins own David Obey get some limelight in the New York Post.
The left leaning liberal Democrat is mentioned , if the dems take over
congress what he would do as chairmen of the Appropriations commitee.
"The Appropriations Committee's David Obey (Wisc.) is a tax-cut-hating,
old-time liberal ready and willing to spend federal dollars. Under Obey,
basic domestic spending would likely see hikes of $75 billion to
$100 billion - to start."
There they go again , raising taxes and killing the robust economy.
Hold onto your wallets / purses .

the people in the 8 th district thinking by puting this guy on the ticket?
Even Nancy Nusbaum would of known better for this. I don't think the

(running in Wisconsin’s 8th district) excused his being late to one event
by saying
“Our excuse, uh, in Oneida was, well we are on Injun time. They don’t
tell time by the clock. Our excuse here is I’m a doctor and we’re never
on time.”
Referring to American Indians as “Injuns,” of course, is the sort of thing
that has to be viewed a derogatory and offensive.
Especially when they are portrayed as being unable to be on time because
“they don’t tell time by the clock.”
But more interesting to us is the question: is there outrage in the
American Indian community at this slur?
Apparently not.
One of Sykes listeners asked a local TV station in northern Wisconsin
whether they were going to run a story on the gaffe, and they got this response.

Menominee Tribal Chairwoman Karen Washinowatok said the term
"Indian time" is commonly used among Native Americans, whose
concept of time traditionally was much different from European settlers.
"It's not at all derogatory... it's the time we were meant to be there," she said.
Oneida Tribal Chairman Gerald Danforth said "Indian time" was
"one of those cliches for why you might be late for an event."
Danforth said he thought it was humorous that Kagen had used the term.
"I had to laugh.

Weekend thoughts
Just thought i would thank my wife, son , mother , brother , sister and Ace for one heck of a weekend. I think I had one too many adult beverages on Sat., but had a spirited conversation on politics . It's great to have good conversation with a GREAT family. Truely blessed by God to have good people like good family. Yes I may have crossed the line sometimes but i hope all took it in stride. Family is too important to loose.
Sunday morning church - Thanks Father John for a GREAT service.
Nascar- Jeez , what does Mark Martin have to do to get a break.
My two great sons helped with chores , don't know what we will do when they leave for there future education.

Jobs we lose to other states with Wisconsin goverment red tape.
Last year,
there were 55 announcements of new manufacturing plants in Illinois;
there were 72 in Michigan,
35 in Minnesota,
and 34 in Iowa.
In Wisconsin, there was a grand total of five.
In 2005,
there were 75 announcements by companies that they were expanding their mannufacturing operations in Illinois;
180 expansions announced in Michigan,
36 in Minnesota,
and 64 in Iowa.
In Wisconsin? Six.
It actually gets worse. When announcements of other business investments and expansions are also included,
Illinois saw 510 announcements of business expansion;
Michigan 505;
Minnesota 176,
Iowa 135,
and Wisconsin…a mere 15.

there were 75 announcements by companies that they were expanding their mannufacturing operations in Illinois;
180 expansions announced in Michigan,
36 in Minnesota,
and 64 in Iowa.
In Wisconsin? Six.
It actually gets worse. When announcements of other business investments and expansions are also included,
Illinois saw 510 announcements of business expansion;
Michigan 505;
Minnesota 176,
Iowa 135,
and Wisconsin…a mere 15.
When will the people of Wisconsin learn !!!!!!!!!

My take on our Gov. and related A G race in Wisconsin.
Is Jim Doyle for jobs in Wisconsin. For six to eight hundred jobs it seems not.
This seems to be the norm for our state!
Lose jobs to other states.
Why didn't Mr. Doyle step in and keep jobs in Wisconsin. Read the artical and make your own mind up on who to vote for for Gov. In the same respect will Kathline Falk as Attorney General take Menards or any other bussiness to court to save small parcels of wetlands! Dr Kagen - 8th District
I finnally decided that I should start commenting on the upcoming election.

My first is on Dr. Steve Kagen.
While I believe Dr K. means well, I think he has his priorities mixed up. He came out with his ethics plan and most of it is same old same old! "Stop dead of the night voting ", "close the revolving door"," ending rampent cronyism" . What does all this mean? But then he states , "eliminate last minute political attack ads"! Do we the people have the right of free speech? Do we want someone to tell us to be quiet just because someone disagree's with them? Then there's "Prohibit discredited gimmicks such as the misnamed Taxpayers Bill of Rights (TABOR) promoted by extremists on the venomous right". What is this? Just because we pay taxes which would pay Dr. K's salary if elected, I could not ask my elected officials to put a cap or to hold the line on tax increases? I guess I'm a extremist WOW!!!!!!!!! Do we live in Russia or Wisconsin? As it is stated on DR. K's ploitical signs "Together We Will". Is he telling me it means. "Together We Will"- stop free speech? "Together We Will" Raise my taxes? "Together We Will" let illegal imigrantes collect Wisconsin social programs paid by Wisconsin tax payers? Dr. K needs to consentrate on his own bussiness in 07 . The people of Wisconsin need to send John Gard to Washington in November!!!
