Trager, a retired radiologist from Howard, endorsed Roth minutes after announcing that unexpected health issues forced him to abandon his own campaign to be the party’s candidate to oppose Rep. Steve Kagen, D-Appleton, in November.
“I know I’m letting down a lot of people,” an emotional Trager said at a Green Bay press conference. “Unfortunately, I’ve developed some health issues which were unexpected and need my immediate attention.”
He did not disclose details about his health and declined to answer questions."
