Steve Kagen, Pay For Play?????????

I leave for a week and Congressman Steve Kagen pops up again in the world. From last week.

First, from Wiki on what pay to play or pay for play is.

Typically, the payer (an individual, business, or organization) makes campaign contributions to public officials, party officials, or parties themselves, and receives political or pecuniary benefit such as no-bid government contracts, influence over legislation,[2][3] political appointments or nominations,[4][5] special access[6] or other favors.

Thanks to Rhymes With Clown for the tip and Fox Politics for the information from Open Secrets on earmarks by some in congress from Wisconsin. Since I live deep in the Wisconsin 8th district I have a few questions and comments on our own Steve Kagen. Let's just talk about the top four from Nancy Pelosi's puppet.

"Steve Kagen: Earmarks (Fiscal Year 2010)"
Steve Kagen: Campaign Finance/Money - Other Data - Earmarks 2010 | OpenSecrets
Description    Bill    Amount Earmarks    Indivs    PACs    Lobbying
Marinette Marine
Bow Lifting Body Project
Marinette, WI    Defense    $3,200,000    $0     $750    $0
Good job Congressman Kagen. Marinette Marine is in the 8th district which gives our district jobs. $750 from PAC. Even though I do not like ear marks but at least this helps Marinette.
Description    Bill    Amount Earmarks    Indivs    PACs    Lobbying
Oshkosh Corp
RDT&E for the Family of Heavy Tactical Vehicles (FHTV)
Oshkosh, WI    Defense    $1,600,000    $750     $5,000    $380,000
Wait a minute, now I know Oshkosh Truck is in Oshkosh Wisconsin but is it in the 8th district? Let's look at the map
.

No Oshkosh here.

Let's try the 6th.

Whoa Nellie, Oshkosh Truck is in Tom Petri's district. Steve Kagen comes back to the 8th and brags about the jobs he has brought to his district. I know it's good for Oshkosh Truck but why is Steve Kagen doing earmarks for another district? Was it the $750 in individual contributions, the $5000 in PAC money or the $380,000 in lobbying?  Oh I wonder wonder wonder.....

Now what is Navy AIT, I see it stands for Navy Automatic Identification Technology.

Intermec Technologies
Navy AIT Logistics Modernization
IA; RI; WA    Defense    $3,200,000    $0     $0    $0
Can someone tell me why Congressman Kagen puts an earmark through  for the states of Iowa, Rhode Island and Washington State. 3.2 Million bucks and how many jobs for the people of the 8th district. OK, no contributions or lobbying but where's this lead to? Why not for the 8th district? Will someone ask Steve Kagen, why earmarks for out of state companies? Where's the jobs for the Wisconsin 8th district?

Oh brother, another 3.2 mil for Navy Automatic Identification Technology.
Description    Bill    Amount Earmarks    Indivs    PACs    Lobbying
Zebra Technologies
Navy AIT Logistics Modernization
IA; RI; WA    Defense    $3,200,000    $0     $0    $80,000
Now it's Zebra Technologies? Gee whiz, they are also located in Iowa, Rhode Island and Washington State, coincidence?  Something doesn't look right. Hum, $80,000 in lobbying

The Wisconsin 8th get's $3,200,000 and
Iowa, Rhode Island and Washington State get $6,400,000? Nothing like bringing home the bacon.

From Kagen's own web site from last year.

"KAGEN VOTES TO CREATE JOBS AND SUPPORT WISCONSIN INDUSTRY"
Kagen Votes to Create Jobs and Support Wisconsin Industry

What kind of game is Steve Kagen playing with the people of the 8th district of Wisconsin? Who is Steve Kagen?

Earmarks for companies out of his district! Earmarks for for companies
in Iowa, Rhode Island and Washington State. What is Steve Kagen getting out of these earmarks? Someone want to ask him? Is this pay for play? This just does not look right and falls on the deaf ears of the media.

Remember, there's an election in November.
