Wa, Wa, Wa Green Bay Press Gazette

My oh my, how things change. Here we see a hit piece (editorial) on republicans from the Green Bay Press Gazette.

Let's start with the headline. O k, they seem to be calling out someone from Wisconsin legislater.
Editorial: Legislature needlessly relights debate
August 19, 2009

We're having a remarkable case of déjà vu.

Months after the state Legislature passed a statewide workplace smoking ban, lawmakers have introduced a bill that would allow hotels to designate up to 25 percent of their rooms for smoking.
"Sponsors of the bill, AB 295, include Northeastern Wisconsin Reps. John Nygren, R-Marinette; Gary Tauchen, R-Shawano; and Jeffrey Mursau, R-Crivitz."

Evil "REPUBLICANS"! Then I look at the comments underneath and I see this. Thank you wia09, who ever you are

What is the real shame is that this article does not mention that the primary sponsors are Democratic Representatives Sherman and Clark, and this is a bi-partisan bill. This is easy to verify at the state's website.

It also does not mention that this proposal was actually in the original bill from the start over 2 years ago, and was just pulled out at the last hour.

Say what, "primary sponsors are Democratic Representatives Sherman and Clark"? Let's check. From Wisconsin AB-295 PDF .
2009 ASSEMBLY BILL 295
June 2, 2009 − Introduced by Representatives SHERMAN (D-Port Wing), CLARK (42nd A.Dist .; Dem.), BALLWEG, BROOKS, GOTTLIEB, KERKMAN, KESTELL, KLEEFISCH, LEMAHIEU, MURSAU, NERISON, NYGREN, ROYS, STRACHOTA, STEINBRINK, TAUCHEN and M. WILLIAMS,
cosponsored by Senators JAUCH, PLALE, TAYLOR and VINEHOUT. Referred to
Committee on Tourism, Recreation and State Properties.
Looks like Wisconsin democrats are on board and even are main sponsors.

I know, I know, the PG editorial board are mad Diamond Jim Doyle pulled out. Wa, wa, were a bunch of cry babies! We need to pick on republicans to level the field for next year.

I know, the GBPG editorial board is mad at all the mobs at Steeve Kagen's mob listening sessions! Wa, wa, wa!

If I remember correctly the real disagreement during the budget hearings was what percentage of hotel rooms would be exempt, not if some would be.

yoSam, thanks for the information.

I don't have a problem with AB-295 but why would the GB Press not call out dems who even sponsored the bill.

If they don't like AB-295, good for them but put out the full story on both sides. They are being selective on their coverage.

I look forward to your success but you will have to learn the hard way. The press will never be your friend. The press will only use you for their gain. The press will screw you any way they can. It's not you , it's how all good honest, hard working people are treated by the MSM.

Just understand that's just the way politics is till we change this state and this country with help from someone like you.

Br true , be strong, be conservative. We're with you.

Have a GREAT week.
