First, glad to see Mayor Barrett is doing OK. Even if he is a lefty democrat, I have to give him credit for what he did. Way to go Mr Barrett. Maybe Tom Barrett is not a liberal as people might think. Second you got to give his niece a lot of credit here too. Way to go Molly.

"Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett on Wednesday shrugged off suggestions that he acted heroically when he responded to a grandmother's cries for help and wound up taking a beating.

Instead, Barrett praised the actions of his 20-year-old niece, Molly Flood, who called 911 after Barrett's attacker had knocked the mayor's phone from his hand and smashed it on the street. The mayor appeared remarkably collected and fit, considering the seriousness of his injuries.

"Molly is my hero," Barrett said.

It was his first public appearance since the attack. He spoke at a news conference before an unusually large gathering of news media and well-wishers in front of his Washington Heights home on the city's west side."

If Tom Barrett would run for gov he could get a lot of votes by just running a couple hard hitting spots.

I know Barrett would never but if after this he buys a hand gun, shows it off and turns to second amendment rights, this would work.

Note to republicans running for office this election cycle. This is not the time to run away from second amendment voters and strong defence of our country. Local, state and federal candidates should all take note.
