It used to be people would say "I got a bridge to sell you". Around Northeastern Wisconsin we can now say , "we got a stone barn to sell you", and it's really true!

Lost all respect for the people of the area just north of here, the Town of Chase, for a $100,000.00 that we can't afford. They have a fundraiser on June 6th, guess they can cancel it since the golden cow came in!
Wonder if they will complain when their property taxes go up. Will they hold Hansen and Nygren's feet to the fire? I don't think Nygren has his fingers in this one. It could be the slimy press had to put a republican's name next to Hansen. Gives Hansen an excuse to blame the right at the next election. I hope not for Nygren's sake.

Since the Chase Stone Barn is on the State & National Register of Historic Places, and since it was nominated for America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places list for 2009, and since it is one of the last surviving all-fieldstone barns in the country, and since it is part of Wisconsin's cultural heritage, and since the new Chase Stone Barn Park will create jobs and help WI tourism, the Town of Chase asked the state for help. Chase has to raise about $800,000, and the state is giving them a grant for $100,000. Not bad to help a small rural town save a state icon that represents what this state (and country) was built from.

I live near, but not in Chase. I only recently heard about the plan ... and I plan to donate to the cause. I know it's hard these days, but we can't let something historic like the Chase barn go to pieces. It also sounds like it will host weddings and parties. It sounds like something really wonderful for the community and the surrounding area. I guess you have a right to be super cranky with your taxes going up. It is bad timing in this economy. But, there are lots of things in our community that would never happen if we didn't invest in the future today.

I agree it could be used for a lot of functions but leave the tax payers out of it. Nice to see you donate. Obviously you have plenty of money, a good job and vote democrat around election time.
If you live in the area you should know first hand what out of control local government is. I would bring up yellow lines all over Pulaski streets and an out of control school system. Sorry, I'm rambling.
