Heavy winter snowfall and above-average spring rain is giving the Port of Green Bay a business payoff." Higher water levels buoying port | greenbaypressgazette.com | Green Bay Press-Gazette

Heavy winter snow and above average rain. I never heard that before, Can't be.
With water levels about 6 inches above last year's levels, vessels are able to carry 600-700 more tons of cargo into the port every trip.

"With the increase in the cost of fuel and the slowed-down economy, the ability to bring in more product per shipful is important," said Port Director Dean Haen. "We're seeing water levels we haven't seen in five to six years."

So Mr Haen said what? said Port Director Dean Haen. "We're seeing water levels we haven't seen in five to six years." Higher water this year? 6 inches above last year? You got to be kidding.

Does anyone remember this past April?

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Witnesses told a House subcommittee Friday that declining water levels of the Great Lakes and growing invasive species in those waters demand strong federal action that shouldn't be delayed.

The Sky is falling.
Dean Haen, Green Bay port director, said his harbor's water level has been 12 to 24 inches below normal for several years, limiting shipping and creating higher costs for consumers.

"This hearing will have a dramatic impact on the legislation we're going to write," said Rep. Steve Kagen, D-Appleton, as the session ended.

Today is July 16th.

Steve, what legislation did congress write? None that I know.

Did it rain today in Wisconsin. Yes it did! It's a miracle.

Will politicians give themselves credit for what the good Lord did? Psst, it rained today, don't tell anyone. Campaign 08 ad, Steve Kagen standing on the tower bridge in Green bay and parting the bay of Green Bay. What a great T V spot, I can't wait.
