"Assembly Dems not likely to support liquor tax hike
By Patrick Marley of the Journal Sentinel

Updated: Oct. 15, 2009 3:08 p.m. | Madison — Assembly Democrats are disinclined to adopt a liquor tax to pay for stiffer drunken driving laws, an aide to Assembly Speaker Mike Sheridan (D-Janesville) said Thursday.

The comments came just hours after Sheridan said he was considering a higher liquor tax endorsed by Senate Democrats.

I think the people have made it clear they want us to tighten up the laws in that area." »Read Full Article"
