Unemployment remains steady

HOUGHTON - Little has changed in the unemployment rate for the Upper Peninsula in December, reflecting a slight increase of one-tenth of a percentage point to 11.3 percent from 11.2 percent, according to the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor &?Economic Growth.
Throughout the 15 counties in the U.P., approximately 17,000 individuals of the 150,000-large civilian labor force are unemployed.
