U P, Deer Crash Miracle

What a story from the U P. I would of told Mrs B to bring a change of cloths.

From the Escanaba Daily Press.

One Deer, One Crash, One, Three Lives,...One Miracle

ESCANABA - Amy LaMarche and her two children had an unusual experience earlier this month, but the fact they are alive to tell the story makes it even more incredible.

While driving home from a gymnastics meet in Marquette, a deer jumped into the family's mini-van, crashed through the windshield, made it's way into the back seat and then went into the cargo area. It went out the hatch when Amy got out and opened the door.

According to the Delta County Sheriff's Department report, the mother and two children sought their own treatment for minor injuries.

When the deer crashed through the windshield at around 11 p.m. on Dec. 18, it went into the lap of Amy's 16-year-old daughter, Kristi, who was sleeping in the front passenger seat. Amy, 41, had seen the deer coming from the ditch and braked to stop the vehicle. They were on U.S. 41 near the Dutch Mill, north of Rapid River.

When the deer found it's way to the middle seat, where her 7-year-old son, Ryan, was sleeping, Amy said she opened a slider door. She tried to get the animal out but it was facing the opposite direction. It then thrashed it's way to the rear of the vehicle where it broke the passenger-side window. Amy went to the back of the van and opened the hatch.

"Once I had the back hatch open, he jumped out and ran in the woods," she said, recalling how things happened so fast.

You can read the rest of this miracle but I wanted to add the comment from the Deputy.

She said the officer said, "You let it out?," finding the scenario hard to believe.
