West Allis - The Wisconsin Bakers Association, makers of the famous cream puffs at the Wisconsin State Fair, announced on Monday that it would expand its presence at the annual event.

The bakers' group said they would become the title sponsor of the former Master Spas Pavilion on the fair's Central Mall for the 2009 and 2010 fairs. In addition, the association said it would open two satellite locations at the fair to sell cream puffs.

The satellite locations will be located near the U.S. Cellular Main Gate and near Gate 2 at the south end of State Fair Park near the Wisconsin Exposition Center.

Fairgoers will be able to purchase 6-packs to go while at the fair or as they leave.

The satellite locations will operate daily from dusk until the fair closes.

The new bakers' pavilion will be known as the Original Cream Puff Pavilion.

"For 85 years the Wisconsin Bakers Association has made a commitment to this wonderful event and through this sponsorship will continue to be a dedicated, strong partner to agriculture, our association members, our loyal fans and Wisconsin State Fair," said David Schmidt, executive director of the bakers' association.

The cream puff were first sold at the fair in 1924.

This year's State Fair will be held from Aug. 6-16. "
