Hope the Right Side Of Wisconsin is all over this.
"PETA wants to take over lighthouses, serve faux fish sticks

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — As Lake Michigan ports go, Grand Haven is an angler's paradise. If People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals gets its way, it also will be home to a lighthouse café — serving faux fish sticks — where patrons learn about the evils of fishing.

PETA said in a letter to the National Park Service last week that it wants to take over Grand Haven's historic twin red lighthouses once they go on a list of surplus properties this year or next. Because PETA is a nonprofit, its bid to maintain the lighthouses could be considered.

The group also is interested in ownership of the Kewaunee Pierhead Lighthouse in Kewaunee.

If it takes over the lighthouse in Kewaunee, the group said in a letter to Dan Wenk, acting director of the National Park Service, it would install interactive educational displays to help the public learn more about fish. It also would open a café at the lighthouse serving faux fish sticks and other vegetarian dishes.

The way the animal rights group sees it, Grand Haven would be a perfect place to drum up compassion for fish. To do so, it would point to research it says suggests that fish have feelings, too, rubbing against each other to show affection, developing individual personalities, even learning to grieve." This is wacked! No one that lives in Kewaunee wants to see an eyesore like PETA in our port! Everyone is allowed to express thier own opinion, but is it right??? Look at the reality! Is Peta protesting Earths exisitance??? Because from the begining of time, humans ate fish, hmmmmmm and plants.....hmmmmmm. Did the apple tree feel pain when Adam plucked some food from it's limb? Have you ever talked to a fish? How do you know these things? We are catching and eating the fish, we always will, its been done for millions of years. hmmmmm It taste great and is good BRAINFOOD. Maybe Peta members should eat some and then can think of other ways to spend thier time and money. Like dogfarms, dog fighting...etc....cleaning up pollution.....etc....

Anonymous, thanks for the comment.

I'm with you, the whack jobs will never make it if they try such insanity.

Keep them off the lake shore.

Have a GREAT week.
