Made a run for work to the Soo and west past Marquette the last couple days.
As I was 10 minutes west of Watton on Hwy 28 at 10:40 am eastern time, I saw something that dropped my jaw. No it wasn't a moose, wasn't a wolf, wasn't Santa Claus that far up north.
It was one of our country's best. Had to be 5 to 6 hundred feet above the tree tops, no, not an real eagle. It was one of our flying eagles.
A F-16 fighter jet flew fast and sleek over the tree tops. The pilot must have a lot of guts since that area of the U P has high and low mountain tops. Maybe there is a secret base in the middle of Upper Michigan. Wonder what base he flew from? It was almost better than, oh never mind.
Wow, makes you dam proud to be an American. Not sure what the heck he was doing up there but must of needed to unwind and let her buck in the U P. To the pilot, thanks for the thrill, it was assume!
Update: ok, not sure if it was a F-16 but it sure looked like a one or two man fighter jet to me!
