From a New York Times blog.
Maybe Kagen should do a sit in on the house floor! Come on Steve, stand your ground on this. Why not go on strike in congress for two years!
So will Steve Kagen Vote no? Will Pelosi tell him to vote yes? Did Nancy tell him he could vote no to keep his seat safe again? Cerberus was right. Kagen couldn't stop dumping of paper from China and now wants to shut the company down! Did he forget about China? Why doesn't Kagen ask for bailout money for the paper mills?
There are probably other Cerberus employees working in Wisconsin, so will he stick his finger up in the air to them?
People of the 8th district sure elected a gem for congress!
Steve Kagen doesn't know what he should do! Should he throw Cerberus under the bus and put 4500 other people out of work? Nancy his boss will tell him what to do, New Page employees will still be out of work, Kagen will still look good and the people of Wisconsin have to put up with a incompetent congressman!
What a PUTZ!
"Paper Mills Swept Up in Debate Over Chrysler Aid

From Louise Story, a DealBook colleague:
Cerberus Capital Management’s vast web of investments is becoming an issue in the battle to bail out Chrysler.
Steve Kagen, a Democrat lawmaker from Wisconsin, said on Monday that he would not support any taxpayer money for Chrysler until two paper mills in his state are re-opened.

Cerberus fired back, saying that Mr. Kagen is well aware that behind its decision to close the mills is a trade issue that it is presenting to the World Trade Organization. Cerberus believes that Asian companies are dumping paper on the United States market at unfair prices, said Mark Neporent, the investment firm’s chief operating officer. NewPage lost its initial case and is preparing to repeal it, Mr. Neporent told DealBook.
“You have to understand this company employs over 4,500 people,” Mr. Neporent said. “We’re talking about 600 jobs here. We obviously take that seriously but this mill, the Kimberly mill in particular, was our highest cost mill. We had absolutely no orders keeping it open and running paper through would have cost about $400 million per year.”
