8th District Health Care Support, NOT!

Remember this from Fox 11. Remember how it is said to be a "staged event" for Steve Kagen.

GREEN BAY - Citizen Action volunteers collected more than 21-thousand signatures of 8th district residents in support of the president's plan to rework the health care system. They were hand delivered to Congressman Steve Kagen.

"I think that percentage at 21 thousand is a large enough number that it shows very broad-based support for Health care reform in Northeast Wisconsin," said Robert Kraig, program director for Citizen Action.

The presentation in Kagen's office was a staged event they say to focus the attention away from loud critics and back to overhauling the system. Kagen says he's received a lot of feedback on the subject." Kagen hears from health care supporters

First they talk about the presidents plan, let us be clear, he has no plan. Second Kagen boasts about 8th district broad-based support. My guess is that the 21,000 signatures were all those people who attended all the listening sessions he held in August. Remember those sign up tables at each listening session. So if Kagen has broad support then how can most Americans be against it. From Rasmussen today.

Support for Health Care Plan Hits New Low
Monday, September 28, 2009

Just 41% of voters nationwide now favor the health care reform proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s down two points from a week ago and the lowest level of support yet measured.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 56% are opposed to the plan.

Senior citizens are less supportive of the plan than younger voters. In the latest survey, just 33% of seniors favor the plan while 59% are opposed. The intensity gap among seniors is significant. Only 16% of the over-65 crowd Strongly Favors the legislation while 46% are Strongly Opposed.

For the first time ever, a slight plurality of voters now express doubt that the legislation will become law this year. Forty-six percent (46%) say passage is likely while 47% say it is not. Those figures include 18% who say passage is Very Likely and 15% who say it is Not at All Likely. Sixty percent (60%) are less certain. "

Will Fox 11 WBAY 2 and other media ask Kagen about the Rasmussen report. Will anyone call him out on this? Will someone in Wisconsin 8th district do a poll?
