"‘Green monster’ coming down

They call it “The Green Monster.”
The nearly quarter mile of aging fence surrounding the racetrack at the Shawano Speedway has been around long enough to become something of a tradition — albeit to some an embarrassing one.
“We’re going to change tradition,” said Jim Miller, treasurer of the board of the Shawano County Agricultural Society.
The fence is coming down on Sunday, July 19, and the Ag Society is looking for volunteers "
