(WASHINGTON, D.C.) Congressman Steve Kagen, M.D. voted for the American Clean Energy and Security Act to create higher wage jobs and support industries across Wisconsin. The legislation went through many changes before Kagen was willing to offer his support.
“This bill will encourage private sector investments in clean energy to create new jobs in Northeast Wisconsin while supporting the industries that have been part of our way of life,” said Kagen. “We are taking the necessary steps to reduce our dependence on foreign oil and build a better future for our children and grandchildren.”
Congressman Kagen has been working closely with House Agriculture Committee Chairman Colin Peterson to ensure that Wisconsin’s family farms are rewarded for their efforts to operate self-sustaining farms. Furthermore, this legislation will grow our economy and expand the market for biofuels and renewable energy by reclassifying all trees as agricultural products and all tree byproducts as renewable energy sources. Farmers and forest owners will benefit as well from the creation of a market-based carbon offset program run by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
“We have kept the EPA off our farms,” said Kagen.
The jobs created cannot be shipped overseas and will make America the global innovation leader and preserve our planet by reducing the pollution that causes global warming.
. The American Clean Energy and Security Act supports key industries in Northeast Wisconsin including papermaking and agriculture. The bill will help the paper industry transition to a cleaner, more profitable future through allowances to cover their increased costs in a changing global marketplace.
“This forward-thinking legislation would not be possible without the hard work and support of Rep. Steve Kagen,” said Sue Breitlich, President of the Wisconsin Farmers Union. “He consistently puts Wisconsin’s family farmers at the forefront of his decisions, and his vote in favor of ACES is yet another example of his commitment to agriculture.”
“I am always listening to my constituents throughout Northeast Wisconsin in visits to their communities and my Tele-Town Hall meetings with more than 11,000 people this week,” Kagen added.
“They have shared their valid concerns with me about this legislation and I have fought hard to protect the industries that have been the backbone of our economy in Northeast Wisconsin for generations. We cannot simply do ‘nothing’. In my judgment, this is a time for action to bring about the changes we need to put our community, our country and our economy on the road to recovery.”

How many lies and half-truths can you fit into 500 words?
I do believe that he has exceeded any record heretofore accomplished.
Other than "Kagen", "Voted", and "For" that piece-of-shit bill, the rest is utter deception.
Hey Dad your right, Kagen has a hard time on elevators because of his extending nose! The guy is a piece all right. Too bad Leah doesn't live up here.
Have a Great weekend.
