Washington - For new members of Congress, it's normally good to be noticed.

But doctor-turned-congressman Steve Kagen can't relish the kind of publicity he's getting lately.

We all need to remember what Mr. Kagen had done in the past and can do at anytime.

You make the descion! Let's send Dr. Kagen back to private practice

Reporter: "Yes or no? Did you tell (Rove) you kicked his ass?"
Kagen: "I'll stick with my statement."
Reporter: "That you kicked his ass?"
Kagen: "Any other questions?"

And this one:

Reporter: "Yes or no? Did you say it?"
Kagen: "I've answered your question."
Reporter: "You didn't answer the question, yes or no, 'Yes, it's true,' or 'No, I didn't say it,' or, 'I was just kidding around. . . . ' Why can't we get a yes or no?"

After the news conference, editorials appeared in the Appleton, Green Bay and Milwaukee newspapers chastising Kagen.

Saying the Democrat showed signs of being a "loose cannon" during the campaign, the Appleton Post-Crescent declared, "Boom goes Dr. Millionaire."
