What A Weekend

Had one heck of a weekend. I'll just give you a couple of short comments.

In the process of moving from Berry Lake. I will still remain in the 8th district. I just couldn't move out of Steve Kagen's district.

Made the move of heavy furniture in one truck and trailer.

Thank God for young men with strong backs. Son 1and 2 and favorite son in law.

What a pleasure having daughter 1. Penelope and Mrs Berry Laker keeping everything straight.

From 3300 sq ft to 600 sq ft, what a change.

Yea baby Dish HD is up and running.

Yea baby Michigan State wins.

Stayed overnight, slept like a baby even if most slept on the floor. It be GREAT to have one of these.

Sunday morning, got all the troops up for Palm Sunday.

Are there any traditional Catholic churches in the area?

Not up to speed on the modern mass of area Catholic churches. I am an old fashion Catholic. Are kneelers made to kneel or just sit there while you stand?

NASCAR Sunday, Martin takes seventh. yea baby, up to 18th in ranking.

Sunday night, back to Berry Lake.

I'll try to get pictures of the new bunker when I have time.

Don't forget to vote Tuesday.

A Great American

A thought for the day from a Great Blog and an even Greater man. I got to stop along the lake and have coffee with this great American last week. It was good to talk about the past and what the future holds. Here he reminds us what Zig Ziglar reminds all of us.

"“What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.” Zig Ziglar h/t Daily Cup of Joe…"

NASCAR Mark Martin

From NASCAR.com.

The old man is on a roll!

RANK +/- DRIVER POINTS BEHIND STARTS POLES
18 +9 Mark Martin 742 -412 7 2

WINS TOP 5 TOP 10 WINNINGS

NASCAR.COM

"Martin's progress forward in the standings is even more dramatic after horrendous circumstances in the season's first three races knocked him almost out of the critical top 35 in the owners' standings.

Martin, who was in 34th in the drivers' standings after three races and remained there after four; moved up three spots with a sixth-place finish at Bristol; four more spots after finishing seventh at Martinsville; and with his third consecutive top-10 , jumped nine spots to sit 17th heading into the Easter break.

Martin didn't talk about points, but he had plenty to say about crew chief Alan Gustafson and the performance of his Hendrick Motorsports crew.

"The [car] was really good [Sunday] -- I was worried after [Saturday's] practice that we may have a 20th-place car," Martin said. "But the guys, like every other Sunday, gave me a great race car. They worked really hard and Alan made all the right changes to get us in the top 10 [on Sunday]." NASCAR.COM - Biffle, Martin, Montoya gain momentum, ground at TMS - Apr 6, 2009

Honey, I' Stuck

From the Green Bay Press.
"Sheriff’s officials said the Oshkosh woman was going from the White Lake area to Laona through heavily wooded Langlade County on Tuesday when the best routing from the GPS sent her onto a road that forked into a snowmobile trail.

Several miles down the frozen path she stopped and couldn’t turn around in about a foot and a half of snow surrounding the car.

She called 911 at 10:44 a.m.

Deputy Keith Svoboda said it took a while to find her and much longer to get heavy equipment in to free the vehicle. Deputies dropped her at a motel for the night.

Svoboda said the lesson is, “People shouldn’t believe everything those things tell you.”" GPS directions put her car on a snowmobile trail | greenbaypressgazette.com | Green Bay Press-Gazette

There is even one in Sault Ste Marie Michigan. I wonder how many Canadians will participate?

There Goes Chevy And Dodge

From CBS.
"The Obama administration will play a key role in reshaping General Motors' board of directors over the next six months, potentially giving it even greater control in the management of the storied American manufacturer.
" U.S. Plans Key Role In Naming GM Board - CBS News

Yes, I know there was an April Fools joke about NASCAR. The link from
The National Conversation.

I will still stand by my position. Obama will SCREW NASCAR NATION! Come on, today they will stack the board of directors tomorrow it's Chevy and Dodge! It's not their voter base and if they can stop bonuses , force CEO's to resign and take over the private sector, they sure the heck can redirect money spent on NASCAR.

Who's to say they will not try to cut back on drivers pay and sponsor limits. Maximum horsepower 300. No beer sold or brought into any track. A seat tax to every track that runs a cup race. When will it end. Who knows with this administration.

What will it be, who knows but remember, it's going to happen!

This is no April Fools joke.

Tea Party Update

From Try2Focus.

Wow, picking up speed. Keep it going!
"The movement in Wisconsin is growing. In addition to Appleton and Madison, it is confirmed that a Tea Party being held in Fort Atkinson. "

Steve Kagen's, April Fools Joke

From Fox 11 WLUK Green Bay.
Wisconsin 8th District Congressman Steve Kagen is playing his constituents for fools, and it's not an April fools joke. You know that extra $15.00 you will receive on your next pay check. It's called sleight of hand, it's called now you see it and now you don't. Here is what Kagen is telling you.
""These are your tax dollars coming back home right where they belong: into your pocket. These dollars go a long way in the Midwest," Rep. Steve Kagen (D-8th Congressional District) said."
Payday tax cuts go into effect

The joke is on the people of the 8th District. What he is not telling you he has his hand in your other pocket to take it back. Now read this.
Tax professionals, however are warning that some could end up having to pay back a portion of the extra money they receive. "The burden is on you, as the recipient of the money, to watch it," Mellem said. According to Mellem, those who receive more than the allowed credit will have to pay it back on next year's income taxes.

Did you catch that, you have to pay it back!
Those with more than one job are the most likely to be affected.

I know a lot of people with two jobs. Most likely to be affected?
"You're going to get it a little at a time and it's easy to spend and to stimulate the economy - which is what the purpose is - but, at the end, if you owe money you're not going to be a happy camper," Mellem added.

Kagen's prank is on you, Steve Kagen is taking you for a FOOL!
For some, next year might be the first time they've ever owed after years of receiving a refund check at tax time.

Individuals that make more than $75,000 and couples that make more than $150,000 are not eligible for the tax break.

Surprise, surprise, no refund check next year. And Steve Kagen will be laughing as you write that check to Uncle Sam next April 15th!

Steve Kagen pulled this off and the joke is on the people of Wisconsin.

Check with your tax preparer if you don't believe me.
