The Vilas and Oneida counties' snowmobile trails will open this week.
Vilas snowmobile trails open Wednesday, Oneida's open Thursday
Stay on marked trails; caution suggested
The state funded snowmobile trail system in Vilas County will officially open At 8 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16. The Oneida County funded snowmobile trail system will officially open for the 2009-10 winter season at 8 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17.
The use of caution is strongly recommended due to trails are in early season condition and more snow is needed. It is not recommended to cross any area lake until the route across the lakes have been clearly marked. For more information about trail conditions, call the area chamber of commerce or the snowmobile club located in the area you plan to ride."
