H.R. 800: Employee Free Choice Act of 2007

From You Tube

In the above You Tube Steve Kagen talks of being "an original co sponsor", Excuse me, there are 233 other co sponsors. So who was the original? What kind of a shirt is our congressman wearing? Who paid for the shirt? Was it paid for with tax payers money? Was it a campaign donation? Birthday present, Christmas gift?

Background information on HR 800 .

"Legislation > 2007-2008 (110th Congress)
H.R. 800: Employee Free Choice Act of 2007

To amend the National Labor Relations Act to establish an efficient system to enable employees to form, join, or assist labor organizations, to provide for mandatory injunctions for unfair labor practices during organizing efforts, and for other purposes." H.R. 800: Employee Free Choice Act of 2007 (GovTrack.us)

This bill has been passed in the House. The bill now goes on to be voted on in the Senate. Keep in mind that debate may be taking place on a companion bill in the Senate, rather than on this particular bill. [Last Updated: Jul 4, 2008]

Ummm.... yeah... a pox on both houses here... this bill eliminates the secret ballot for workers.

They aren't allowed to freely and privately choose anything! It allows union thugs to pressure or punish those who disagree.

Kagen is a whore, but he aint a democrat.

Would he support the same principle for electing public officials?

I bet he would.

Thanks for the comment. Your right, Kagen sells himself to the higher bidder. He can't even do what's right for the the people of the 8th. I think he would only agree with electing public officials if he was on the receiving end. The guy has questionable character. Oh well, pimping for votes in the 8th.

The Employee Free Choice act has mulitiple different provisions, some which would very possibly make the process more fair. BUT, removing the private ballot from workers to protect them from BUSINESS intimidation, while you subject them to UNION intimidation AND remove GOVERNMENT protection from the process (by taking the National Labor Relations Board out of the organization process altogether) is not a balanced bill, and favors big labor to a ridiculous degree. Congress must not pass EFCA!
