State Teachers Double Dipping, Even at A School Near You
State investigating rehiring of UW-Green Bay official - JSOnline:
"The revelation that a vice chancellor at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay retired from his $131,000-a-year position and returned about a month later while continuing to draw his retirement benefit has prompted the state to launch an investigation into whether the move was made legally.
The university's decision to rehire its top finance official, Tom Maki, also prompted state Rep. Steve Nass (R-Whitewater) to cancel a public hearing scheduled for Thursday on tuition legislation that's supported by UW-Green Bay.
State law bars agencies from making an arrangement to rehire someone who is planning to retire before that person leaves. Nass said he suspects that's what happened in Maki's case. The university denies there was an arrangement.
"Can I prove it? I'm going to try," said Nass, who chairs the state Assembly's Colleges and Universities Committee. "This arrangement for the vice chancellor can't be allowed to stand.""
So teachers retired last spring and then got rehired. Where else is this happening?
Let's just look at the Suring School District where I pay taxes.
Wednesday March 9, 2011 School board minutes. School Board accept teacher resignations.
Starts on page 4.
Wednesday August 10, 2011 meeting, REALLY, teachers rehired.
Look on page 2 .
Huh, interesting. If you go to the Siring school directory here you will see some familiar names now teaching at Suring for the 2011 / 2012 school year. Just wondering how much they were hired back at? Hummmmm?
Wonder if any media outlet will look into any other schools in the area? Naw, they will just cover up the story anyway!
Huh, it's only our property tax dollars.

Will NASCAR Change Fuel Supplier, Sunoco Out Of Business
NEW YORK (AP) -- Sunoco Inc. said Tuesday it's getting out of the refining business.
The Philadelphia company, which owns two refineries in Pennsylvania, announced plans to sell those refineries and focus on its pipelines and retail gas stations that provide a steadier cash flow.
"We have made progress in increasing the efficiency of our refineries over the last several years, but given the unacceptable financial performance of these assets, it is clear that it is in the best interests of shareholders to exit this business," Lynn Elsenhans, Sunoco's chairman and CEO, said in a statement.
Sunoco's refineries in Philadelphia and Marcus Hook, Pa., can process a combined 505,000 barrels of oil per day. If it cannot sell its refineries, the company will shut down its main processing units in July 2012.
So Is NASCAR now shopping for a new fuel source for it's racing? Will they still have ethanol in the fuel in 2013, 2014? If Sunoco is out of the refining biz, who will supply NASCAR?
Seems like a story waiting to be written

NASCAR, Gordon Wins 85th

Conservatives Call Out Club For Growth
No Runny Eggs:
"It is with great disappointment that we have learned of the efforts of some conservatives on the national level to try to dictate to Wisconsin conservatives their choice for the United States Senate seat being vacated by Democratic Senator Herb Kohl. This is a tremendous opportunity for Wisconsinites to elect a second conservative senator worthy of holding the office, and one that Wisconsin conservatives will take very seriously. This is not only a choice of ideology but of character, and it is our responsibility to bring Mark Neumann’s lack of character to your attention."
I have to agree with their letter. You can read all at Steve's blog.

Joe, What A Real Barbarian Looks Like
Will Barack Obama condemn Joe Biden and Jimmy Hoffa for calling Republicans 'barbarians' and 'son of a bitches' – Telegraph Blogs:
"Biden, whose mouth has long been a liability for Obama, was at an AFL-CIO rally when he told union members: “You are the only folks keeping the barbarians from the gates…the other side has declared war on labour’s house.”"
Seems Joe never seen a barbarian.
Don't worry, O is not concerned about Hoffa's and Biden's remarks.
Unions Asleep
"Unions more alert since law passed"
So were they asleep before the law passed?
Obviously they didn't see Scott Walker coming! OUCH!
Post Office Broke, May Have To Shut Down
In E-Mail Age, Postal Service Struggles to Avoid a Default - NYTimes.com:
"At the same time, decades of contractual promises made to unionized workers, including no-layoff clauses, are increasing the post office’s costs. Labor represents 80 percent of the agency’s expenses, compared with 53 percent at United Parcel Service and 32 percent at FedEx, its two biggest private competitors. Postal workers also receive more generous health benefits than most other federal employees."
Huh!
Looks like Scott Walker needs to step in to fix the postal service.

How Stupid Is Stupid
PULASKI — Someone stole an undetermined amount of cash early Thursday morning from the cash register at the Neighborhood Kitchen Restaurant on Wisconsin 32.
The suspect entered the building between 3 and 5 a.m. Thursday by throwing a rock through the glass doors and forcing open the cash register.
Police are looking for a white man age 35 to 45, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, weighing 200 to 225 pounds, and a bald or shaved head. Security cameras caught the man in the act wearing a light colored baseball cap with lettering on the front and a black adjustable strap, light colored long-sleeve shirt, dress slacks and casual shoes.
Contact the Pulaski Police at (920) 822-5613 or Crime Stoppers, (920) 431-STOP with information on the suspect or the crime.
Why would any restaurant owner leave money in the cash register overnight? Why wouldn't the last person to leave take the money out and put it in a ah, what do you call the heavy things with a dial and handle ?Ah, ah, ah, oh yea, it's called a safe!
If they didn't have a safe why not take the money home? The surveillance camera does no good if you leave money in a cash register? Second, how many people know they keep the money in the register at night? Hummmmmmmm?
Sometimes I hate to admit I grew up in Pulaski Wisconsin.
How stupid can some people be? Jack, buy a safe or take the money home!
What's that saying, Stupid is what stupid does?
Atheist Joke Of The Day
Subject: Little girl on a plane
LITTLE GIRL ON A PLANE
An atheist was seated next to a little girl on an airplane and he turned to her and said, "Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger."
The little girl, who had just started to read her book, replied to the total stranger, "What would you want to talk about?"
"Oh, I don't know," said the atheist. "How about why there is no God, or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death?" as he smiled smugly.
"OK," she said. "Those could be interesting topics but let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff - grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, but a horse produces clumps. Why do you suppose that is?"
The atheist, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence, thinks about it and says, "Hmmm, I have no idea."
To which the little girl replies, "Do you really feel qualified to discuss why there is no God, or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death, when you don't know sh@t?"
And then she went back to reading her book

Five Conservative NASCAR Drivers Decline Prez, Good For Them
Five NASCAR Drivers Decline President Obama's White House Invitation - From Our Editors - SBNation.com:
"Five NASCAR Drivers Decline President Obama's White House Invitation
by Jeff Gluck • Sep 1, 2011 10:37 PM EDT
President Barack Obama will honor NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson and the 11 other Chase drivers from last year in a White House ceremony on Wednesday – but nearly half of the 2010 playoff contenders won't be there.
NASCAR said Thursday that five drivers – Greg Biffle, Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart – will not be attending the White House visit due to "schedule conflicts."
" They must be very busy people. Regardless of one's political views, the president is still the president – and an opportunity to speak with the leader of the free world is a rare and special one.
You'd think whatever photo shoots or sponsor appearances these drivers have lined up on Wednesday afternoon – if that's indeed the reason – could be rescheduled. After all, this is the President of the United States we're talking about here.
For a sport that prides itself on patriotism, having so many drivers turn down the president's invitation simply seems strange.
Johnson, Denny Hamlin, Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch, Clint Bowyer, Jeff Burton and Matt Kenseth will attend.
I lost a respect for Busch, Burton and Matt Kenseth. Johnson and the rest are liberal butt kissers anyway.
I have to give Mrs Berry Laker credit for following the biff. Greg, I take back all the things I said about you.
Ouch, 0 Job Growth, Tighten Your Belts
"WASHINGTON (AP) -- Employers added no net workers last month and the unemployment rate was unchanged, a sign that many were nervous the U.S. economy could be at risk of slipping into another recession.
The Labor Department said Friday that total payrolls were unchanged in August, the weakest report in almost a year. It's the first time since February 1945 that the government has reported a net job change of zero. The unemployment rate stayed at 9.1 percent."
Ouch, that hurts. Liberals and democrats want four more years of Obama.
