Not true, incumbent eager to debate"

The Kagen camp afraid to debate Gard.

John Gard, the Republican nominee for Wisconsin's 8th District congressional seat, accused incumbent U.S. Rep. Steve Kagen Friday of ducking debates, but the Democrat seeking to hold his seat in November says nothing could be further from the truth.
"Congressman Steve Kagen hasn't agreed to a single candidate forum with only 40 days left in the campaign," Gard told The Lakeland Times Friday.

To those hot shot reporters in Green Bay and Appleton, Mr. Moore shows you what investigative reporting is. See, he used a P H O N E!
Off the record

Reached by telephone Friday, Kagen spokesman Jake Rubin declined to speak about the issue on the record, except to say he needed to "see where we are in the debate process."

He later sent an email addressing Gard's charges.

"What the Gard campaign is saying is simply not true," Rubin wrote in the email. "Congressman Kagen will debate John Gard because he is eager to give voters an alternative to Gard's negative campaign and to allow them to hear about issues affecting them most, like a comprehensive plan for energy independence that favors consumers instead of Gard's donors in Big Oil, affordable health care that works for Dr. Kagen's patients, not Big Insurance, and an economy that supports working families, not Big Corporations."

Rubin did not address Gard's charges about Kagen's refusal to appear at the town-hall meetings during the congressional recess nor did he speak to Gard's allegation that Kagen hasn't agreed to participate in debates offered by 14 organizations, though Rubin was asked about both Friday.

Rubin says they are eager to debate? Sure looks like it. When? Does "eager" mean the same as "gave back immediately" like the $1000.00 Kagen gave back to Fannie Mae after 38 days?

Green Bay Press, Appleton Post Crescent, WLUK,WBAY, WFRV and others, see how a real reporter reports the news, "Rubin did not address Gard's charges". Wow, never would see something like that in the Fox Valley. Also see how Rubin could not even call him back personally, had to email response, what a putz!

Gard said the organizations attempting to arrange a debate include the National Federation of Independent Businesses, Wisconsin Alliance for Retired Americans, Project Vote/UW-Green Bay/Wispolitics, WTAQ Radio, League of Women Voters, Harmony Café, UW-Marinette/Marinette Chamber of Commerce, AARP, Wisconsin Council on Children and Families, WHBY Radio, Door County Advocate, Wrightstown Post-Gazette, the Coalition of Wisconsin Aging Groups, and Pathways.

Is "did not address" mean Steve Kagen is afraid to debate John Gard? The voters are seeing the real side of Steve Kagen.

Why does it take someone from Minocqua Wisconsin to get real news?

Update, the real Media is from Minocqua Wisconsin first and the rest of Wisconsin can compare themselves to the best in Wisconsin, the Lakeland-Times if they can.

Hats off to Richard Moore at the Lakeland-Times. I think he should get an award for hard hitting investigative reporting.

Richard, you got my vote.

To the other MSM in the 8th district, how pathetic.
