European goldfinch a rare find for local bird watchers
BESSEMER -- The phone rang Sunday, and I was greeted by a pleasant woman from Ironwood who is a frequent participant in the annual Christmas Bird Count.
"Hello. I have a European goldfinch coming to my feeder at least once every hour. You are welcome to stop by and see him from my kitchen window, if you'd like," the caller said."
