There was already cause for Judge Maryann Sumi to have recused herself in the collective bargaining lawsuit since her son, Jake Sinderbrand is a former employee of the AFL-CIO and SEIU, now more conflict of interests have been discovered.

Judge Sumi’s husband, Carl Sinderbrand donated to the campaigns of three of the “Badger 14″: Dave Hansen, Jim Holperin and Robert Wirch. Additionally Sinderbrand donated to Tom Barrett in his fight against Scott Walker for the governorship."

Who else contributed to Recall Jim Holperin? Hey, even Recall Dave Hansen got money.

MADISON — Democratic state Sen. Dave Hansen of Green Bay on Thursday called for Republican Gov.-elect Scott Walker to donate excess money raised for his inauguration parties to Wisconsin food pantries to demonstrate his concern for people who are suffering.

You know Mr Hansen, why are people suffering in the first place? How much campaign money have you donated? Because of you and your party's irresponsible actions, you took our state and nation with higher taxes and more regulation to the brink of bankruptcy. A couple of points.

1) when is Dave Hansen up for reelection? I think it's Hansen's turn to stand up for his voting record.

2) will he run again or stick his tail............. and retire from politics?

3) If he runs, we need to find a good conservative candidate to send to Madison to run this state right, not run it into the ground.

4) anyone know anyone interested?????? It's never too late to take back our government.

Speaking of Mr Hansen, will he be involved in calling a special session of the Wisconsin legislature and vote to pass all those union contracts that don't expire till next year? Or will his vote be no ?

His vote, if they do call the special session will be on his record to use against him in his next election. Will he stick his middle finger at the people of his district and the people of Wisconsin?

Will he do what is right and leave the contracts up to the new governor? We shall see.

Little Tommy Nelson, Dave Hansen and other Dems in the state legislature apparently don’t care how it affects Wisconsin residents.

From the Dec. 4th Van Roy’s Views:

In the March 6 and October 9 editions of Van Roy’s Views, I thoroughly explained the costly auto insurance mandates that were passed by Democrats in the legislature and signed into law by Governor Doyle. (If this issue doesn’t sound familiar to you, please click the links above.) These changes were approved in June without any public hearings and without any justification for why the changes were necessary. Most of the mandates went into effect on November 1, so customers are now receiving notices about the mandates and the premium increases caused by them as their policies come up for renewal."

I have co-sponsored Rep. John Nygren's stand-alone legislation, Assembly Bill 525, that would repeal most of these mandates. Enough public pressure was brought to bear that the Democratic Chairman of the Assembly Committee on Insurance finally agreed to hold a public hearing on the bill. A four hour public hearing was held on November 22, and despite all the testimony showing how the mandates are hurting Wisconsin families, the Chairman made it clear that the hearing was for informational purposes only and the bill would never receive a vote.

Maybe Scott Walker should tie something into his race. If Mr Walker is a leader he ought to take the bull by the horns and make his campaign a state wide referendum. He will need a lot of help in Madison and if he get's conservative republicans on his train it would sure get this state back on track!

Wisconsin Farmers Second Rate Citizens

Seems like Dave Hansen and Tom Nelson are against the history of Wisconsin farmers. Seems union history is more important then the history of Wisconsin agriculture and the people that built it. Maybe it's time voters send Hansen and Nelson on vacation or maybe back to school.

Here's the part about Wisconsin dairy farmers.

Well, Wisconsin was also a leader in the development of dairy farming and the Republican Party. I pulled out my daughter’s high school U.S. history book, The American Pageant, to see how thoroughly it treated these groups.

It distresses me to report the textbook only has one sentence describing Wisconsin’s role in the formation of the Republican Party, saying the party sprang up in Wisconsin and Michigan as a moral protest against slavery. Nothing about the party being founded in Ripon, Wis., or the leadership of Alvan E. Bovay or other abolitionist Wisconsin Republicans. Gosh, you would think that the history of the Republican Party would be prominently taught in Wisconsin classrooms.

What’s worse, there’s nothing at all in this book about the growth of dairy farming in Wisconsin! Considering how many dairy farmers we have here, you would think that the history of dairy farming would be prominently taught in Wisconsin classrooms.

Get ready for yet another cost increase.

Drivers with auto insurance should expect to pay more for coverage starting in November.

Whether it's a family with a minivan or a business with three cars, just about everyone in Wisconsin will see their insurance bills increase.

Bills signed into law in June by Gov. Jim Doyle will increase insurance limits, alter uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage and make automotive insurance mandatory.

"Wisconsin Senate expected to approve NFL police escort bill
Measure ending liabilities could pass today

A bill allowing state police agencies to provide nonstop escorts to celebrities, dignitaries and visiting sports teams could become law within days, its lead Senate author said Monday.

The bill facing possible Senate approval today eliminates liability concerns raised in late 2006 in response to the police escorts of National Football League teams by the Outagamie and Brown county sheriff's departments.

State Sen. Dave Hansen, D-Green Bay, said he's not expecting a close contest when the Senate votes on the same bill passed unanimously by the Assembly in June.

In fact, he said he will be surprised if the vote to concur with the Assembly isn't unanimous.

"I'm not expecting a lot of debate," Hansen said.

If passed, the bill will head to Gov. Jim Doyle, who could sign the bill into law "almost immediately," Hansen said.

To compensate for these increases, our prices would have to increase by about 10%. But since we cannot increase our prices right now due to the dismal state of the economy, we will have to lay off six of our employees instead. This has really been bothering me, since I believe we are family here and I didn’t know how to choose who would have to go.

So, this is what I did. I walked through our parking lot and found six ‘Obama’ bumper stickers on our employees’ cars and have decided these folks will be the ones to let go. I can’t think of a more fair way to approach this problem. They voted for change, I gave it to them.

I will see the rest of you at the annual company picnic.

MADISON — A special committee of legislative leaders won't convene to work out a state budget deal to plug a $6.6 billion shortfall until at least Tuesday.

And it may not meet at all.

Delaying the creation of a conference committee clears the way for Democratic leaders in both the Senate and Assembly to meet in secret before Tuesday to reach a deal. Lawmakers are allowed to do so because without the committee being created, there is no obligation to comply with Open Meetings Law.

Leaders could talk among themselves and possibly reach a deal without ever calling a meeting or allowing Republicans, who are in the minority, to participate.

The Senate recessed Thursday without voting to create a conference committee to reach a deal, though the chamber is scheduled to meet again Tuesday. Senate President Fred Risser, D-Madison, said he expects leaders from the Assembly and Senate to talk informally between now and then to see whether a conference committee will be needed.

Any negotiations on reaching a budget deal now should be done in the open in a conference committee, said Jay Heck, executive director of government watchdog group Common Cause in Wisconsin.

"The less public it is, the less confidence citizens have in the end result," he said. "When citizens are left in the dark, they think the worst about the process."

Gov. Jim Doyle's spokesman, Lee Sensenbrenner, wouldn't say directly whether the governor's staff would be meeting with legislative leaders on a budget deal before a conference committee is called.

"There's always a lot of behind-the-scenes preparatory work that goes into things like this," Sensenbrenner said.

The $62.2 billion two-year spending plan passed each house in dramatically different forms. An identical budget must pass each house before it can go to Doyle, also a Democrat, for his consideration.

There are major differences between the two budgets.

The Assembly's version includes a tax on oil companies that could be passed along to drivers by hiking gas prices up another 4.4 cents a gallon. The Senate removed the tax. Doyle wanted to tax oil companies, but only if the companies were banned from passing along their added costs to customers at the pump.

The Senate increased taxes on capital gains, removing all exemptions. The Assembly lowered the allowable exemption from 60 percent to 40 percent, as Doyle wanted.

Dozens of other differences also were expected to be worked out by the expected conference committee.

Waiting until at least Tuesday to create the committee wastes time and puts the budget in jeopardy of not passing before the new fiscal year begins July 1, said Rep. Pedro Colon, D-Milwaukee.

"I think everybody on this side wants to get truckin'," he said.

Doyle and legislative leaders have pushed to pass the budget by July 1 to avoid losing millions of dollars in federal money and to enact spending cuts and tax and fee increases that plug the record-high $6.6 billion budget hole.

Much of the work on the budget has already occurred in secret. Assembly Democrats met behind closed doors for five days to work out changes eventually approved by the full Assembly during a 12-hour session that ended at 5:30 a.m. Saturday.

Members of the budget-writing Joint Finance Committee also secretly worked out deals before voting in public, often late at night. APPLETON — Wausau Paper will close its Appleton mill by the end of the year.

According to the Wisconsin’s Department of Workforce Development, the first round of 14 permanent layoffs will be July 31.

The remaining 72 employees will be laid off before the plant’s closure Dec. 31.

Wausau Paper has 14 locations across the country. The four in Wisconsin are in Mosinee, Rhinelander, Brokaw and Appleton.

No word yet if the closure will affect other mills."

Since the Chase Stone Barn is on the State & National Register of Historic Places, and since it was nominated for America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places list for 2009, and since it is one of the last surviving all-fieldstone barns in the country, and since it is part of Wisconsin's cultural heritage, and since the new Chase Stone Barn Park will create jobs and help WI tourism, the Town of Chase asked the state for help. Chase has to raise about $800,000, and the state is giving them a grant for $100,000. Not bad to help a small rural town save a state icon that represents what this state (and country) was built from.

I "since" have to leave a comment back. By the way "since" five times in one sentence was a little over the top. You can't be from Chase! I will assume you are a leftie liberal who likes to spend other people's money (taxes) or someone from Dave Hansen's office.





Why is Chase holding a fundraiser on June 6th? Your comment stated the town has to raise $800 G's for a park for tourism. Good for them. Why not raise $900,000.00. If the town takes the 100 G's will they now only have to raise 700 thousand? What are we to believe?

How about people volunteer to build the park? My mother tells me stories how BVM Church in Pulaski was built by everyone in 1907 and not completed till 1931. People from all over the area built that church.

Does the Town of Chase really need $100,000.00 of taxpayers money? Has the Town of Chase forgotten the hard economic times in the area? Karcz Ford closes, Carver Boat filed for Chapter 11, Broadway Chevy on HWY 32 closing, what will be the next shoe to drop for the people of the area? Our governor and the democratic leaders in Madison are spending like no tomorrow and raising every tax they can think of and they still have money for pet projects?

Times are tough right now and everyone is wondering what their future might bring. The state is in a six, seven billion dollar deficit and they are handing out money like candy and for what? Let's just call it what it really is, for votes in the next election.

As the Press-Gazette knows, we are facing an unprecedented deficit of $6.6 billion resulting from the crisis brought on by the excessive greed on Wall Street. This crisis is forcing us to make deep cuts including important services that will be needed now more than ever to help area residents stay afloat.

So it's Wall Street's fault for Wisconsin's $6.6 billion budget deficit?

Dave Hansen, excuse me. What? Who's fault is it? What deep cuts have you made? Your spending our tax dollars and raising our taxes through the roof and it's not your fault. Mr Hansen was elected to represent us in Wisconsin. Looks like he is not doing the job he was elected to do! Who has excessive greed?

Time to elect someone else in the 30th District of Wisconsin.

Maybe some hard hitting reporting from the GB PG about the budget problems and Dave Hansen. Maybe? The voters of the 30th deserve it.
